Me. Ate too much crap and got the shits.

Spartak · 10/04/2024 03:01

Me. Doctors found today that my heart tumour (fortunately benign) has grown back again and I'll need open heart surgery to get rid of it.

Hospitals are not good places to sleep well!

Yewafew · 10/04/2024 03:01

Me.
Woke myself up snoring like I do every night.
I snore so badly that I wake up to a horrendous sound like a pneumatic drill and feel like I've been punched in the throat loads of times.
Now I can't get back to sleep as every time I try the noise starts again.
So here I am sitting upright on my phone as when I lie down my airway closes up.
It's actually impacting on my mental health, along with my physical health.

Lack of sleep is horrible. Is your GP doing anything about it? Your symptoms are very similar to my friend, who recently was diagnosed with sleep apnoea. Since he got his machine thingy, he's slept much better.

Please see you gp. Sounds like sleep apnoea they can help!

I'm on holiday and my twat of a senior manager deemed he would interview staff for a promotion in my team without me yesterday and I'm wondering who (out of the poor calibre of potential candidates) has got the post.

I've just read that you shouldn't allow work to dominate your thoughts during times when you are not being paid and in the grand scheme of things, compared to serious medical diagnosis, it's not a biggie but it is stopping me settle to sleep properly tonight.

Spartak · 10/04/2024 03:31

I'd be really annoyed about that as well JobMatch. I hope the twat has managed to pick the best of a bad bunch.

SmallFY · 10/04/2024 03:34

I am.

Have a UTI and trying to distract myself.

Drinking water and cycstitis relief stuff and hoping I'm more comfortable soon and it passes ASAP.

whojamaflip · 10/04/2024 03:34

Just back in from the lambing shed - brand new set of triplets and a single now snuggled up in the mothering pens so a good reason to be awake.

However I'm now sat with a cup of tea contemplating what I need to do tomorrow (today?). DD has a Spanish exchange student arriving in the evening and the house is a pig sty, I need to go food shopping as well as do all the animals before she gets here. As you can probably imagine the house is a shit tip as I've been more concerned with things out in the lambing shed for the last 6 weeks than actually doing any housework 🫣

It all seemed like a good idea when dd signed up for it 6 months ago!!

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 10/04/2024 03:42

Nightshift 😭😴

NailsHairNipsHeels · 10/04/2024 03:43

Nightshift... it's passing very very slowly 🥱😴

Chickoletta · 10/04/2024 03:46

Me. Originally woken by DH’s snoring but also feeling pretty uncomfortable and wondering whether I’ve got cystitis. Got up, had a glass of cranberry juice. Now on sofa. Going to try going back to bed in a bit.

Sympathy to those who put up with this kind of poor sleep regularly and those with worries. This time of the night can be the worst.

Curtainsforus · 10/04/2024 03:48

Hayfever - eyes are itchy and driving me mad - waiting for the drugs to kick in.

Oh no. Hope you get some rest.

I think I'm going to need to wee again soon and worried it'll make the pain bad again.

Also feeling guilty waking DH up repeatedly when he has work tomorrow.

MajorFaff · 10/04/2024 03:48

Sodding menopause. Been waking up at 4am for a week 😭

Rather you than me! We’ve just come out of the other side of lambing. At least the exchange student will be getting an authentic rural British experience! And as my farming grandmother used to say re. a messy house - ‘I can’t be both inside and out’.

SmallFY · 10/04/2024 03:49

@whojamaflip aah how lovely. Bet those mamas are grateful for your help.

Sounds like we’re in the same boat! The granules usually work quite quickly so 🤞🏼we’ll both feel better soon.

veiledsentiments · 10/04/2024 03:50

Me. Woke up this time yesterday too. No idea why. Have had a cup of tea, and been to the toilet. Will try and get another hour or so in soon.

Piscesmumma1978 · 10/04/2024 03:55

Me. 2yo dd woke up. She’s still in my room so currently chatting with her trying to get her to go back to sleep.

I don’t sleep well these days so it doesn’t bother me.

user1484492781 · 10/04/2024 03:57

Lots of my mind . Suspect family member is drinking again which has led to horrendous decisions in the past that have also impacted me a great deal .
Same person has also used my bank card to make a bank withdrawal that I strongly suspect was for coke . Sat here wondering how the fuck it all came to this and ( selfishly ) wondering if I can go through all this again .
So sorry for people in hospital ... I hope everyone's day looks brighter tomorrow xx

saraclara · 10/04/2024 05:01

My mum's funeral was yesterday. Shattered and drained, I went to bed and slept two hours earlier than usual. Then woke up at 2:50am And here I still am. Not a hope of any more sleep.

Isouf · 10/04/2024 05:12

Me. Night shift worker, just on my break.

Trying81 · 10/04/2024 05:15

Toddler coughing all over me. Up for work in 2 hours and barely slept
