Inspired by a thread I saw the other week, what has gone well this weekend or made you happy?

I suppose mine is that my family and I are leaning on each more in this crisis. Also I finally booked my haircut for donating my hair.

Don’t know how long it’s going to last, but at this precise moment it’s not raining and the sun has come out. So happy.

Hoglet70 · 07/04/2024 12:04

I got three loads of washing dry on the line yesterday and this made me ecstatic!

I watched my cousin get married and it was the most romantic and adorable day ever. There was just so much love in the room as cheesy as that sounds. She is the best person I know and she is so happy and her DH is just so lovely.

MagpiePi · 07/04/2024 12:10

I did a 10 mile run yesterday and didn’t walk on the steep bit where I normally do.

I had lunch with a group of clever, interesting women today who I worked with some years back. None of us work there anymore and I wasn’t part of their core team but they continue to include me in their meet ups every few months and I love their company so I am very happy.

I did a 700 mile round trip yesterday in my trusty little Citroen c1.
(I'm a tad stiff this morning)

My autistic DS went on an impromptu pub crawl/curry with his sports team last night after a match and had a whale of a time. He is going back to uni today. If you'd asked me 5 years ago if any of this seemed likely I would have thought no way.

One tomato seed sprouting out of 8 pots of seeds. I was beginning to think nothing was ever going to show a sign of life. It's a start albeit a small one.

Amazed at how much it made my day today. 😄

We managed to have our first BBQ of the year yesterday! It was wonderful!

DD1 reminded me we should take some things to the charity shop a couple of hours before her haircut (charity shop next door to hairdresser). So we had time to sort through her and DD2s clothes and got 3 bags of clothes to take to the charity shop. We then put together a plan for her hair for Prom with the hairdresser. Then we did some gardening together in the afternoon. She's very efficient when she's taking a rest day from revision!

Oh, and DH fixed the trampoline. So winning all round.

The boiled eggs and sourdough toast for breakfast had been cooked to perfection

Flying an F-4 Phantom jet simulator. I landed right in the middle of the runway on my second go 🙂

Holkham Beach was wild and woolly!

This weekend has gone well:
2 loads of washing dry on the line.

Great catch up with my 2 best friends with take out and wine.

I slept in after suffering peri insomnia (wine probably helped)

Amazing brunch with dh this morning with dh, my berry waffle was delicious.

Name something that went well this weekend

Managed to get all my sofa covers off, washed, dried and back on in 4 hours! And today my new spray mop arrived - no more lugging a mop and bucket up three flights of stairs Grin

I got 3 lots out on the line, too, and was SO happy

RagzRebooted · 07/04/2024 13:11

It was our anniversary yesterday, we usually forget it completely but I planned ahead and we had a lovely evening out dancing to a band then stayed in a nice B&B and had great sex, then stayed up chatting until 2am. We barely see eachother at the moment as DH works away in the week and it was so nice to really focus on us for a bit.

Damn you, now I want a spray mop!

Feeling guilty that it didn't occur to me to put the last load on the line and now the next one won't be finished in time. Oops.

Peclet · 07/04/2024 13:13

Did 3 loads of washing and have 2 on the line flapping madly.

Have looked out a new recipie to try this afternoon and am looking forward to trying it today.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 07/04/2024 13:14

Had fish for dinner last night and it was cooked just right. Done all the way through but not falling apart when manoeuvred out of the pan.

BiddyPop · 07/04/2024 13:14

Spring has sprung in my city, DH visited for 3 days and helped me get properly settled (built the sofa, we went to ikea and built more stuff, I bought a tv and he got that working...), and my veggies in pots have started to grow.

(DH left yesterday so I won't see him again for about a month - that's the trade off - but once dd exams are over in summer, he should be able to come for longer and more often).

user1567879667589 · 07/04/2024 13:20

The Peony that I bought from a rare plant fair has come up, despite it giving every impression of turning its toes up last summer…obviously a reason it’s rare, not very sturdy! Now fingers crossed it flowers!

Glenthebattleostrich · 07/04/2024 13:23

We ordered our new car and actually agreed on one we both like!! The dog was showered and didn't do a protest poop on the carpet (she's an arse) and the sun is shining and my washing is happily drying on the line.

I love this. With experience of similar in my family, I know how much this means.
