Inspired by a thread I saw the other week, what has gone well this weekend or made you happy?

I suppose mine is that my family and I are leaning on each more in this crisis. Also I finally booked my haircut for donating my hair.

I got my vertical blinds washed, dried on the line, ironed and put back up in a morning 😊

The price of electricity has been negative for me this weekend - ie on the Octopus Agile tariff they pay me!

My single parent friend had a minor crisis (think cover for kids, animals, transport, with shitty ex DH letting her down at the last minute) and as a group of friends we all responded to her cry for help and took/sorted various children/animals/car trips so it was all sorted.
Left her a bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate on the side to come home to.
Gave me a warm fuzzy glow that women help women without hesitation.

I spent Saturday at the Taj Mahal (the real one, not your local takeaway) and it was magical and breathtaking! To cap off the weekend, I've just arrived in the Maldives.

FINALLY got my DH to empty the shed and I have sorted a lot of stuff out that we don't want to keep and offered it on Facebook. Anything that isn't wanted will go to a charity shop. There are still some bits that are worth something and it is his job to put those for sale on eBay - goodness knows how long it will take him to do that! He took a load of stuff to the tip yesterday and there is another load to take on Tuesday, so that's a good job done.
Went to a WEFTE swimming group on Friday (the first day of my weekend) and enjoyed it - so will be doing that regularly. That will double my exercise for the week!

I've been away with dd2 (15) for 3 nights just the 2 of us for the first time ever. We've had the most amazing time. It's been great just chatting, doing activities, laughing, eating, chilling. Really don't want to go home!

Sunny and finally, mild weather 😁.

14 hours driving to and from London in one day (700 miles). With less than an hour in London.

I made it home in one piece!!

I decided to learn how to crochet. I can knit, but always thought crochet was too complicated. Now I'm wondering why I left it till my late sixties, and can't wait to learn more. Thank you Youtube.

My Yorkshire puddings were immense (for a change!)

Hughs · 07/04/2024 18:06

I discovered Pomodoro and am getting through my work at double the pace I was expecting 💪

We did a huge tip run yesterday and another one booked for tomorrow as we've had a big declutter over the weekend (even ventured to the loft). Feels great!

ShadesofPoachedSmoke · 08/04/2024 15:13

@Hubcapdiamondstarhalo that's very pretty and I also LOVE your username #genx

Whiskers4 · 08/04/2024 15:18

At work yesterday, but someone had made a and bought in an abundance of quality made cakes, victoria, chocolate, iced buns, brownies and carrot cake. We all had a couple of large slides and plenty leftover. Very nice and appreciated

Had the family area and drag lift all to ourselves for the whole day! Soft snow, bright sun and I finally learnt to carve on my snowboard with confidence. Not bad for 40 years old!

afaloren · 08/04/2024 15:24

I bought birthday presents for three family members and they were all very well received.

murasaki · 08/04/2024 15:28

Another vote for washing dried on the line.

DP's rabbit tagliatelle was an absolute tasty triumph.

I carved out some.time for piano playing.

caramac04 · 08/04/2024 15:33

I got my running (jogging) mojo back and got out there yesterday. Might be a small thing but it’s so good for me and I’ve been putting others first. Silly because it isn’t even for very long.

abracadabra1980 · 08/04/2024 18:00

My needy elderly parent was away with extended family so I had a mental break from thinking about him. I had no social engagements (so relaxing) and I spent the whole weekend with my DDog, chilling.
