So I’ve just discovered Tattle…

My friend told me about it recently so I thought I’d have a look. So I do have some views on ‘influencers’ showing off their DC before they’re old enough to consent, but blimey, this goes above any beyond that. There is a woman on Istagram called ‘Knee Deep in Life’ I’ve followed her for years and I can see that’s she’s not everyone’s cup of tea but she’s pretty inoffensive but the way she’s been talked about of Tattle is horrible, I don’t know how anyone could describe as anything else other than bullying.

i stopped reading after this and I’m very willing to stand corrected if this was a one off and every thing else is well put together and thought through but suspect that’s not the case. I know MN is in no way perfect but just found it really nasty.

It's where all the mean girls in Y9 now get to carry on being bitches even though they're now 37 and should know better. It really is a cesspit.

That sounds about right.

There are some despicably awful people who love to spew their vicious bile around, and if they like Tattle, good. Let's hope they stay there.

😂😂😂. I never thought about selling my account before now.

There’s obviously a market for selling a Tattle account Wink.

HelloMiss · 07/04/2024 14:08

Detective agency 😂

No, websleuths is the site for that!

theworldie · 07/04/2024 14:09

It’s a website for people who want to go and bitch and discuss people they don’t like.

I agree some of the posters come across as being completely unhinged - but it can also be pretty funny.

If you don’t like it don’t look I guess!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 07/04/2024 14:10

There used to be a site called Beauty Bash when I used to be a member of an American makeup site called Makeupalley. BB ran for years and trolled MUAers but one user got stupid and posted names and addresses of either MUA posters or ones who were also BB posters so BB got closed down.

It’s hilarious and actually some good posters are surprisingly sympathetic and empathic if there are certain issues they’re going through. They have no truck eg with fat shaming certain influencers but people like Gemma Collins are fair game.

justasking111 · 07/04/2024 14:35

There's a Welsh woman doing back to the land, keeping, chickens, goats , ducks, geese, growing vegetables as well. She has hives for honey, makes soap. She was torn apart because her vegetables were big. Impossibly so according to followers.

Well guess what supermarkets want x size so they're harvested earlier.

Try explaining that that to most people.

onlywomengetperiods · 07/04/2024 14:55

Anyone got a sign up code for Tattle?

whiteferrari · 07/04/2024 14:59

MN is just as bad. I remember seeing a post on here about a young female celebrity and how they genuinely thought they were beautiful. They got ripped apart - she’s ugly, she’s ordinary, my dd is much prettier, who’s that? Etc

Yes tattle goes too far. MN can also be incredibly boring where people act like a salary of £100K is below average, their husbands are all famous in their field, they aspire to be French and hate the English and they live off a handful of calories a day.

Pippa246 · 07/04/2024 15:00

I’ve dipped in and out of Tattle when MN goes through lulls. Agree that some of what is posted is brutal - there’s an instagrammer Brummymummyof2 who takes a relentless pounding every day. The tattlers also really lay into her family including her elder DC, husband, sister and parents. Younger child seems to be liked by them all so he doesn’t get annihilated. If I was her, I’d need to give up being an instagrammer - no amount of money could make up for putting my family through that.

Those on Tattle would say it’s her own fault for living online and exposing her DC to all the abuse but it doesn’t sit well with me as they say such horrible things about her.

Interestingly Tattle claims to be an abuse free zone as per quote below!!

“We have a zero-tolerance policy to any content that is abusive, hateful or harmful and a team of moderators online 24/7 to remove any content that breaks our strict rules, often in minutes.”

The difference is that on mumsnet you'll have posts on the same thread telling off the posters ripping the celebrities to shreads, but on tattle those posts will get deleted for tone policing.

Intensiv14 · 07/04/2024 15:07

The abuse Becki Jones on there gets is abhorrent. It’s a brutal, mean girl Pack mentality.

SerafinasGoose · 07/04/2024 15:09

Dull, unpleasant gossip about dull people I've never heard of is painfully uninteresting to me at least. Who GAF who they're gossiping about, and that includes threads on this site.

With respect, OP, if people here wanted to read Tatler we'd go to Tatler.

hot2trotter · 07/04/2024 15:16

I think you've got to "pick your thread" so to speak. Some threads are very informative, with fair discussions taking place. Some threads are vile, full of (usually) women spewing vitriol towards other women.
I'm a fan of the off topic, true crime, secret celebrity gossip threads.
I reported two posts on a certain "influencer" thread that said some horrific things about her toddler (which is supposed to be "against the rules") but it was ME who got banned 😂 So now I lurk, and stick to the threads that aren't full of despicable bullies who get their kicks out of tearing people - and their children - apart.

Covetthee · 07/04/2024 15:18

If you guys think Tattle is bad I suggest you never visit other forums esp Lipstick Alley ( who are great with breaking news events lol) now THAT is a vicious forum, its MN and tattle all in one 🤣

ShiteRider · 07/04/2024 15:26

valensiwalensi · 07/04/2024 12:32

No it’s not.

The rule of tattle is it can only be people who monetise social media.

There isn’t enough protection for those with development/learning delays or mental health issues using social media.

Has that changed in the last couple of years because there definitely was a thread of women (I presume) slating this poor girl who was incredibly vulnerable.

Prinnny · 07/04/2024 15:31

People should read about Talia Oatway and Lauren Goodman, the poor single mummies according to their social media posts, but very vindictive manipulate bitches after the tattle wiki leak!

Sunquest · 07/04/2024 15:38

I'm not sure I want to read threads on Tattle where women are regularly called, bitches, slags, whores and prozzies.Or where they are accused of having stinking minges. A quick scan of some of the threads was enough.

theworldie · 07/04/2024 15:41

Does anyone remember the tattle Clemmie whatserface expose?!

She was on billboards for M&S and everything - really successful instagrammer (I actually really liked her page) it was then discovered she had a tattle account and was slagging off a fellow IGer who was black and made a comment like “she uses her race as a weapon”. I can’t remember exactly what happened now but they discovered she was posting from multiple accounts (was also on MN I believe) and slagging people off who were supposed to be her friends! The shit all hit the fan and she basically had to make a public apology. She closed her account and has never returned - though she sometimes pops up on her dh’s account (he’s called fatherofdaughters)

They really tore her to pieces in the aftermath and at the time it was like peak gossip!🤣

HelloMiss · 07/04/2024 15:44

Yes, I mentioned her upthread. The midwife, Clemmie hooper, aka mother of daughters

Lookingoutside · 07/04/2024 15:46

It’s vile. The self gaslighting on there is unreal in terms of the desperate justification for their abuse and bullying of others.

BTW are they here yet? 👀

Look out for the overly chatty, hysterical tone. It’s unmistakable.

brickday · 07/04/2024 15:46

Yes I think the Clemmie scandal attracted a lot of new tattle members. It was juicy!

Now I do like the Father of Daughters thread on tattle, he is despicable and there are some very funny posters on there.

Nicesocksdude · 07/04/2024 15:47

There was a long thread on Tattle about Caroline Flack leading up to her death, after she was arrested and then charged for assault. I'm in no way saying that assault is 'ok', but I remember reading the thread stunned by the cruelty and pure glee of the hatred directed at her, really nasty, personal and abusive stuff. When she died it was reported by her friends that her suicide was a direct result of reading online comments about herself. I went onto the thread expecting there to be at least a modicum of guilt or self reflection on there but nothing. Just the same posters who'd vilified her now saying what a shame it was she felt the need to kill herself. I can't stand the '#be kind' brigade but that really shocked me.

AdobeWanKenobi · 07/04/2024 15:48

Tattle mods have specifically asked that codes are not given to people asking on here.

when a tattle member gives out a code the person who uses it is then linked to their account, so Tattle HQ can see who you invited. If that person goes on to cause trouble both they and the person who referred them would be banned.

In short, you’ll be hard pressed to find a Tattle member willing to risk their own accounts by giving you a code.
