It was 17° here earlier. In Cumbria! It's blowing a gale now though.

Heatwave over

Let's see what today brings!

Had storm K hit us last night around 8pm. Had a power cut, lasted around an hour. Winds about 40mph. Was quite brutal, rain like a monsoon! Nice day up to then though, and today looks nice. Temp set to go up to 15C... Yesterday was 17-18!

So that was a heatwave, was it? windy, grey, occasional sun. I'm still wearing a fleece and had a hot water bottle in the bed last night.

As the saying goes - I've had better.

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain ha, ha- yep it's a very low bar for a heatwave it seems and yep I'm still in thin padded coat!

It was an ok "heatwave". I went out without my coat on and got a load of washing, including a heavy cotton duvet cover, dried on the line.

It was disappointing - was not expecting a heatwave but at least some sunshine. Grey and windy - pretty rubbish.

The sun has been out today and it's fairly mild but the wind makes it feel much colder. Whole weekend was a disappointment. I was so excited for the sun.

Piss wet through here in Pateley bridge near Harrogate. Rained all night then mild and sunny. Currently raining again.

I wouldn't really class 20 degrees as a heatwave!

Depends on who was calling it that; probably some of the buffoons on MSN who've been predicting '700 mile snow bombs to crash into UK' for the last six months, Calling one day of mild temperatures a 'heatwave' would be exactly the sort of stuff they come out with.

Last week Dh told me Dorset would be that this weekend. It was warm, but very windy, rainy, miserable. Was not happy.

We have warmth 😍Still not a heatwave, though, and Channel 4 weather said last night temps next week will drop.

First time this year I put my washing out to dry yesterday!
