What's for tea tonight?

Or dinner, or whatever you call it?

My Tesco delivery came yesterday so the fridge/freezer, and cupboards, are full, but I don't know what to make🤷‍♀️ totally lacking inspiration.

Tomorrow though, I'm making a chicken tikka, and a butter chicken dish that dd2 prefers 😋 when I have more time in the evening.

I got some chicken breast out to defrost, no inspiration though, hoping DH will have cooked them by the time I get back tonight so I don't have to work out what to do with them.

But he'll probably do chicken and broccoli curry, as he thinks that's a thing. It's not.

freezer surprise!!
thanks for the reminder to take something out to defrost

lapochette · 04/04/2024 11:20

Chicken fajitas or something similar, maybe enchiladas. I've got chicken, peppers, chilli's etc plus sour cream but no avocados for guac or tomatoes for salsa and not sure if I can be bothered popping out to get as it's so cold. 3 degrees when I was out earlier 🥶

I'm kind of baffled as to how you do a big food shop if you don't know what you're having for meals? Don't you plan the meals and then buy what you need to make them?

Deardear17 · 04/04/2024 11:39

Chicken and veg Fajita pie thing from the tesco website - filo pastry on top

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 04/04/2024 12:10

I will be boiling a ham and serving it with cous cous, green salad, beetroot and feta stuffed peppers

FairisleFairy · 04/04/2024 12:48

We’re having roasted veg quinoa salad with halloumi. Never cooked quinoa but thought I’d try that instead of the usual cous cous.

My veg box and recipe have arrived so I'm going to batch cook Italian roast cabbage with tomato lentils and pangrattato. Also roasted Asian vegetables with soy and ginger glaze.

Glenthebattleostrich · 04/04/2024 12:56

Steaks with mushrooms and sweet potato fries tonight, lamb koftas tomorrow and butter chicken curry on Saturday.

Noting some of these meals for this weeks menu plan!

Alwaystired23 · 04/04/2024 13:04

Sausage and mushroom risotto. We usually have a veggie risotto or chicken and mushroom, I just fancied a change from chicken, should be ok!

I do meal plan, but God its boring!

Chelsea26 · 04/04/2024 13:23

We’re having chilli that I put in the slow cooker this morning - haven’t decided whether we’ll have rice and tortillas or make it into chilli fries - can let the kids decide later.

It’a something that all the kids will eat happily which is a bonus!

Lasagne for DH and DCs with peas and carrots. I will be out doing sport.

BMW6 · 04/04/2024 14:32

Sausage traybake.

Chopped peppers, red onions, courgette, baby spuds (par boiled), tin of cherry tomatoes, herbs, garlic and chopped up sausages (good ones)

Dead quick, cheap and delicious. Vary with chopped chicken breast or whole thighs (without skin) instead of sausages.
