Do you prefer a bath or a shower?

I much prefer a bath. It doesn’t help that my shower is dodgy and runs hot then cold then hot then cold. I would still choose a bath over a shower though. Which do you prefer?

Shower 10000%. I got rid of my bath for a beautiful walk in shower. Never liked baths!

TM1979 · 02/04/2024 18:45

Definitely a shower. A bath is such a faff.

TonTonMacoute · 02/04/2024 18:48

I used to adore long hot baths when I was younger, but now I wonder what's the point?

We've just had a lovely new bathroom fitted and the shower is superb, I wouldn't want to be without a bath though, and that is lovely too.

SophiaElise · 02/04/2024 18:50

Shower! I have both in my bathroom (standalone bath and walk-in waterfall shower) and I think I use the bath twice a year on average.

DiscoBeat · 02/04/2024 18:50

I love our waterfall power shower so that's the usual thing but if I've had a particularly strenuous day with aching muscles then a bath is the best.

Bluevelvetsofa · 02/04/2024 18:50

I used to love a good soak, but the knees aren’t so good for getting in and out these days. Our en-suite has a bath and a walk in shower and the other bathroom has an over bath shower. I think we might get rid of that bath and get another walk in shower.

Tulipvase · 02/04/2024 18:51

Would never choose to have a bath.

SmallestInTheClass · 02/04/2024 18:52

Shower. I like the idea of a bath but get bored waiting for it to run and then have had enough after 3 minutes so not really worth it!

Redshoeblueshoe · 02/04/2024 18:53

Bath

Bath

ABowlOfPorridge · 02/04/2024 18:58

Showers! I detest baths.

Favouritefruits · 02/04/2024 18:58

Bath every time, so much more relaxing and warming!

Lonelycrab · 02/04/2024 19:00

A bath is such a faff

You turn the taps on, get undressed and then get in. It’s really not that hard😂

If it takes ages to run then you’ve got crap plumbing.

Quethemusic · 02/04/2024 19:00

A bath. I've recently had to move to a property without one and I miss my bath every single day (it's been 4 months and I'm genuinely sad about it every day)
As soon as I can I'm moving to a house with a bath. I have a pretty physical job and am on my feet all day, the last thing I want to to do is stand even longer. I ache and the only thing that helped was a nice hot bath in the evening. I've even googled inflatable baths and am seriously considering one! I wish there was somewhere I could go for a bath but all my family have showers too and it's just a bit too weird to ask friends 😂

PippetyPoppetyPie · 02/04/2024 19:00

Bath everytime. I try and have one twice a week (candles, book, peace and quiet) but shower the rest of the time. I love my bath I could spend hours in it.

quizzys · 02/04/2024 19:01

Having a bath in water full of my dead skin? And what about my hair. And feeling cold after two minutes. And wrinkly skin from the hot water. And NO. Far too much faff. Plus I think I'd break my legs or my arse getting in an out of that slippery thing anyway.

Walk in power shower, with footrest for shaving legs, with recess for holding the wash stuff, with a razor holder on the wall, with a hand grip for turning around safely. The speed of it. In, do the bits, out. Yes all the time. No exceptions. I wouldn't have a bath in a luxury hotel bathroom either. Wasted on me.

Each to their own though, I'm just telling you mine.

Sandysandwich · 02/04/2024 19:03

I much prefer showers especially for actually getting clean and washing my hair and for feeling refreshed.

I like a warm bath sometimes to relax in but they make me feel a bit sluggish and hot, like I've made myself into soup.

Simonjt · 02/04/2024 19:04

Bath everytime, I should have been born a merman.

MrsDilligaf · 02/04/2024 19:10

I like both, There's times when I just need to have a lovely soak in the bath, and I can feel the tension seep out of my joints and muscles.

I shower daily , but would swap with a bath maybe twice a week (always have a bath on Sundays)

LemonTreeGrove · 02/04/2024 19:17

A bath

bluecomputerscreen · 02/04/2024 19:22

shower

am tall and have the choice between cold shoulders or cold knees in a bath. it's not relaxing for me. and I feel cleaner after a shower.

Doingmybest12 · 02/04/2024 19:23

A bath every time. A shower is so functional and quick, cold as soon as you are out of it, boring. I might only choose one on a hot day. I love getting in to a full bath.

Meadowfinch · 02/04/2024 19:23

I have both but when I need cheering up, I'm tired or cold, a long hot bath, pjs warmed on the radiator and then bed is the best. 😊

Showers are for speed on working mornings.

Notellinganyone · 02/04/2024 19:24

I have a bath most days. Long hot soak with a book or radio. Perfection.

AdoraBell · 02/04/2024 19:25

For relaxing a long hot bath, but not an option due to heating water. For cleaning a shower is more practical, imo.
