Just out of curiosity! Wonder what the percentages are (UK).
I do and my husband does, but if he didn't then I wouldn't either (out of principle!!)

I do, my husband doesn't. He couldn't wear it at work anyway, and doesn't like jewellery. Neither his father nor mine had a wedding ring so I've never thought anything about it. I love jewellery so definitely wasn't going to go without.

Beamur · 01/04/2024 21:26

Neither of us have or wear wedding rings..

Arielhills · 01/04/2024 21:28

Both of us wear rings but DH has an office job so no risk of losing a finger! If he didn’t wear his I would still wear mine, I like how it looks.

I don't (used to, but irritation now; no rings on any fingers for me)
DH does.

DDad didn't, DMum does.

FiL wears a signet ring that MiL gave him, she wears a wedding ring sometimes (illness means it doesn't always fit, and she sometimes wears it on another finger, or wears her mother's which is smaller)
DSis and BiL both do.

Loads of permutations and reasons for the choices

Smallngrumpy · 01/04/2024 21:30

I dont ( got sick of taking off to wash hands during covid), husband does, infact getting him new one (exactly same), as old one too small

Dacadactyl · 01/04/2024 21:31

I do and so does DH. I'd have a problem with it if he didn't tbh.

LorlieS · 01/04/2024 21:33

@Dacadactyl I feel the same but not sure why? I'm a Ms not a Mrs so I guess I should be OK with it?

I do. My husband doesn’t.

snoopyfanaccountant · 01/04/2024 21:34

DH and I both wear them. I haven't worn my engagement ring for 5 years due to scar tissue on my ring finger (I can't remove my wedding ring due to the scar tissue).

Screamingabdabz · 01/04/2024 21:35

We both do.

SargentSuperFan · 01/04/2024 21:35

Married 37 years. I don't, DH does. I find rings really annoying. I'm always amused how me not wearing a wedding ring winds some (female) people up.

polkadotpixie · 01/04/2024 21:36

Neither of us wear ours

SPsmama · 01/04/2024 21:37

I do, husband doesn't. we got married with his late dads ring but it was huge and he has a physical job so never wore it. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

LorlieS · 01/04/2024 21:37

@SargentSuperFan I still think that, for some reason, it's important to some that women make their marital status known.
Are you a Mrs? 😀

Octomama · 01/04/2024 21:38

@SargentSuperFan I totally relate! I stopped wearing mine years ago, i lift weights and it seemed to make the callouses on my hands worse. DH still Wears his, but the number of people who seem to Notice, just why?!

This.

Waitingfordoggo · 01/04/2024 21:43

I wear mine. DH has one and uses to wear it but it irritated his skin so he doesn’t wear it now. It annoyed me at first but I’ve got over it now.

Jackyboyisalaugh · 01/04/2024 21:46

Neither of us do.

Yes I'm a Mrs. No problem with that.

We bought my wedding ring at an antiques fair in 1986 while on holiday in the lake district. It cost £11. DH's ring was purchased from a 'proper' jewellers and cost a couple of hundred. I wore it for a while but it really irritated me. I don't wear rings!

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 01/04/2024 21:49

I dont wear any jewellery at all, not even a watch so would never wear a wedding ring. DW loves jewellery so is happy to wear hers. Its never been an issue.

keffie12 · 01/04/2024 21:49

Both my late husband and I wore wedding rings. When he unexpectedly passed away in 2018, I put his wedding ring onto my third finger, left hand, underneath mine.

There, it has stopped and will for the rest of my days. I'm a married widow. I was/am very blessed to have met him

skippy67 · 01/04/2024 21:50

We both wear ours.

LorlieS · 01/04/2024 21:51

@keffie12 Aw that's so lovely. I'm sorry for your loss 💐

I'm a Mrs, I wear my wedding and engagement rings every day. My DH wears his every day too.

Bells3032 · 01/04/2024 21:53

I do. Husband doesn't..it's not part of our wedding ceremony for him to receive one. He didn't want to..I didnt care. Neither of our fathers ever did and had long and happy marriages.

I hardly wear mine anyway lol
