Just out of curiosity! Wonder what the percentages are (UK).
I do and my husband does, but if he didn't then I wouldn't either (out of principle!!)

we both do... my husband has his original ring and refuses point blank to remove it... i think i'm onto my 3rd! at the moment i'm not even wearing my actual wedding ring.. i only wear it for occasions and going out... wouldn't bother me if he didn't wear his... its just a ring!

LorlieS · 01/04/2024 21:57

@twointhemorning I wear both a wedding ring and (non-traditional) engagement ring too. But I'm a Ms His Family-Name - My Family Name (as is he). He also wears a wedding ring.

I very rarely wear mine, rings just annoy me, I get fed up of taking them off to wash my hands. My DH wears his all the time and never takes it off, he isn't bothered that I don't wear mine.

We've only recently got married after years together and he wears a work wedding ring that he's worn for years and the actual wedding ring on his days off. He feels it's more special.

😂 this is exactly like mine. We both wear them, I've got original wedding ring but am on second engagement ring. I take mine off for washing up and bathing little one but DH point blank refuses to take his off, like we're not married if he takes it off 😆

Lollypop701 · 01/04/2024 22:08

Dh is apparently allergic to being married as ring makes his fingers swell up and brings on his exma … don’t care really. I wear mine

RobbieisWright · 01/04/2024 22:10

Don't even know where mine is!

LaPalmaLlama · 01/04/2024 22:10

Both have them. He wears his all the time. I wear mine most of the time but sometimes I take it off for exercise and then don’t wear it for days as forget where I put it.

SunnySunnySunny · 01/04/2024 22:10

I don’t, DH does.

Floralnomad · 01/04/2024 22:12

Married over 30 yrs , I wore mine for about 10 yrs and then got contact dermatitis and some other skin issue which means I can’t wear any jewellery or watches . Husband wore his for about a week before he took it off to do some DIY and never put it back on . They live together in a box with my engagement ring . It never bothered me that he didn’t wear it .

theywenttoseainasievetheydid · 01/04/2024 22:30

I didn’t have a wedding ring until about 10 years after we were married.
At the time I thought they were unnecessary then I just changed my mind and thought I’d like one. Husband reached for the Argos catalogue and I told him that as I don’t wear any other jewellery that I’d like something a bit more tasteful, even though I had no idea how much people spend on them ,so we trundled into an independent jewellers, having never stepped into one before, and then seemed to lose the power of speech……..it wasn’t very romantic. I think the shop assistant was a little baffled as we certainly didn’t look the part in our walking gear and backpacks. I had to pay and sort of half hoped my husband would put it on my finger with a flourish and declaration of in dying love but that didn’t happen.
He had no intention of wearing one .

Coldupnorth87 · 01/04/2024 22:36

Neither of us do. I do have my wedding ring, DH never had one. Married a very long time.

Weights & rings don't mix, ring gets damaged & callouses are worse.

PermanentTemporary · 01/04/2024 22:38

Widowed in 2018, took mine off about a week later. I have it in a Battersea box with my engagement ring.

CloudsHailRainbows · 01/04/2024 22:40

I don't but my Husband does

BuffaloCauliflower · 01/04/2024 22:40

Yes both me and DH wear our wedding rings all the time, I also wear my engagement ring l the time. I honestly don’t notice it at all, it’s a part of my finger now.

Lanore · 01/04/2024 22:40

We wore them for a couple of years but then my fingers got fatter 😬 so I stopped wearing minecfor a bit. DH immediately stopped wearing his and said he didn’t like wearing it, too heavy and he thinks rings are effeminate.

Got mine resized but feel sad wearing when he doesn’t wear his, so I rarely bother.

TeenLifeMum · 01/04/2024 22:42

We both wear ours.

Librarybooker · 01/04/2024 22:43

I don’t wear my actual wedding ring because it’s a flat style and aggravates my eczema. I have a 10 years ring - white gold and very rounded that I generally wear instead. However, I don’t wear it all the time because of eczema.

DH wears his all the time

Awrite · 01/04/2024 22:45

My Papa did, my Dad does, my dh does.

I also do. I haven't worn my engagement ring for well over a decade though. Felt like ownership somehow.

I'm also an own name Ms.

thatsnotacactus · 01/04/2024 22:51

Beamur · 01/04/2024 21:26

Neither of us have or wear wedding rings..

Same here.

Defender90 · 01/04/2024 22:52

I do, he doesn't. He couldn't wear it to work, he can't wear anything on hands / wrists hands is health and safety related, watches would just get ruined.

yutu · 01/04/2024 22:52

DH does but I dont, because I have many different rings and like to choose one to put on depending on my mood and I dont like wearing multiple rings at the same time.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 01/04/2024 22:56

We both have them, DH wears his all the time, I wear mine less now because I swim regularly and do a couple of aqua classes, last year one of the women in my class lost her wedding ring in the pool, she said it wasn't ordinarily loose but the water was quite cold, they never found it, so I never wear mine there now and I won't leave them in a locker, so if I'm going straight out after (eg work) I won't always have them on. I swam this morning but came home before we went out so I put them on.

tillyandmilly · 01/04/2024 22:58

I do - husband won’t wear any form of jewellery!

Biomic · 01/04/2024 23:07

Husband does, I don't. My wedding ring doesn't fit anymore and I never seem to get around to buying a replacement. As a previous poster said, when other women notice they are aghast!
