It's been in the fridge the whole time and is organic (!!) if that makes a difference Grin

Yeah have done lots of times. Still alive and kicking.

If it looks and smells okay then yes.

Yes, if it smells ok.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/04/2024 10:08

Yes - if it smelled bad or looked funny you would know, but the mince doesn’t know the date anyway.

Konfetka · 01/04/2024 10:08

Does it look and smell ok? If so, use it.

Dewdilly · 01/04/2024 10:08

Yes.

stayathomer · 01/04/2024 10:09

another that if it looks and smells okay fine, Aldi mince is generally gone a day before the use by date, other minces still seems as fresh the day before so I think it's just about checking colour and smell

Ankylo · 01/04/2024 10:11

Definitely.

LenaLamont · 01/04/2024 10:13

Frequently!

(But I don’t mention it to the squeamish one who thinks eating something actually on its Use By date is playing Russian Roulette with health)

Needanewname42 · 01/04/2024 10:16

Yes. It's not exactly Cinderella's carriage that will turn into a pumpkins at 11.59!

exerciseshmexercise · 01/04/2024 10:16

As long as it smells and looks fine yes

mitogoshi · 01/04/2024 10:18

Smell test and is it furry? If not just make sure it's thoroughly cooked and piping hot

mumof2many1943 · 01/04/2024 10:20

Am glad I am not the only nerd in the world 😱

Mrssheepskin · 01/04/2024 10:21

Yes definitely.

icelollycraving · 01/04/2024 10:22

If it smells and looks ok, then yes.

Floralnomad · 01/04/2024 10:27

You can tell if it’s ok by looking at it and smelling it .

thecanadianloon · 01/04/2024 10:28

Yes, subject to sniff and eye test!

ButterCrackers · 01/04/2024 10:31

If it was unminced then yes because there’s less surface area for bacteria to develop. It depends really on the production date . How long ago was this mince made?

shoppingshamed · 01/04/2024 10:36

If course I would, I'd cook it well past the date as long it didn't smell off

Do you think that food dating is such an exact science that somehow, boom, once it's past midnight it suddenly becomes a food poison?

BusterGonad · 01/04/2024 11:03

Definitely. It might look a little grey as beef generally does after a while but if it smells good then I'll cook it.

RoseAndRose · 01/04/2024 11:05

Yes if
a) the pack hadn't blown
b) it looked and smelled normal

Changedname23 · 01/04/2024 11:10

No

Sahara123 · 01/04/2024 11:49

This kind of thread always reminds me of my brother, who lives in France, buying a melon in a French market . He showed me That the stall holder had written not only the date at which it would be at its best on the melon, but also the time eg “ Thursday 1pm “ !

Sahara123 · 01/04/2024 11:51

And yes I’d eat the mince !
