Samsung Eco Bubble

I have ordered the series 5 washing machine which is meant to be arriving on Wednesday. I’ve now got cold feet as I’ve read their parts are poor quality and their after sales service is very poor. There is a five year guarantee, but not much use if you can’t get hold of them.
I’ve now ordered a Zanussi but it won’t arrive till next week. I just don’t know what to do.
Looked at AEG but some people report having faulty machines from the off and apparently Zanussi and AEG are run by the same company.

Please help! I can refuse the Samsung when it’s delivered.

Mine lasted five years.

FixTheBone · 01/04/2024 10:35

Mine have been ok. 5 year guarentee is a bit meh. They've always cone and fixed mine, usually within a week, which seems unreasonable to me as we do about 4 or 5 loads of wsshing a day, but if you're doing 1 load a week is probably fine.

Mine lasted five years.

That doesn't seem very long really. The one i have now is 14 years old!

I've had my Samsung 7 years this year and it's been great . No problems at all . I realise I may have just tempted fate there !

ArthurHeDoesAsHePleases · 01/04/2024 11:07

Love mine although first one had to be replaced because it was squeaking. Washes really well. Lots of choice if cycles x

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 01/04/2024 11:14

We've recently got one and happy with it so far - also, you never realise how yuck the inside of the old machine was, despite regular service washes etc until you get clothes out of the new one and they smell really clean! Literally it's noticeable - however ours does a really irritating little jingle when a programme is complete. Confused

I love that it turns itself off once done though

TeenLifeMum · 01/04/2024 11:16

Mine is 15 years old and still working. It’s a great washing machine.

ABowlOfPorridge · 01/04/2024 11:17

I have one.(Different model but an Ecobubble) It’s almost 11 years old. It did need to have the control panel or whatever you call it replaced and that was covered but we’ve had no problems since.

Theraininspainfalls · 01/04/2024 11:19

Really encouraging .

Love mine, 9 years old and still sings to me 😊

blitzen · 01/04/2024 11:21

I liked mine at the time but it only lasted 3.5 years until it had drainage issues and the cost of a potential repair made me just get a new one.

saraclara · 01/04/2024 11:22

I'm not sure how long I've had mine. Six or seven years? I've had no problems (touch wood) and I love it. It's really quiet and does the job well.

Reallybadidea · 01/04/2024 11:25

My last one lasted 7 years and then the bearings went. It was soon after we moved so I wonder whether it was getting shifted without transit bolts that did for it. It worked very hard over those 7 years with no problems at all, so I thought that was ok.

Anywherebuthere · 01/04/2024 11:26

I've had mine for 7+ years. All going good so far. Never had to make use of the 5 year guarantee.

We use it a lot.

The jingle at the end is so useful, no chance of forgetting you have washing in the machine!

Overcontemplating · 01/04/2024 11:33

My ecobubble lasted just over 4 years, then it had some kind of electrical fault. I ended up replacing it. Washing machines are rubbish these days

Brawcolli · 01/04/2024 12:02

I’ve had mine for almost four years and I like it, except it’s quite hungry for wee socks and cloths so I have to put them in a laundry bag!

CormorantStrikesBack · 01/04/2024 14:22

I’ve had one for years. Never needed a new part. It’s been fine

Mine is at least 8 or 9 years old. I like it's tune

NoodleQueen90 · 01/04/2024 15:16

I got mine because a friend who repairs washing machines for a living said it's the best machine to get. He said the only thing he really fixes on them is door seals. That was good enough for me. Mine works extremely hard and is 8 years old. I did replace the door seal about 3 years ago but my other half has bad habit of not emptying pockets so frequently pull coins/pens/small screwdriver out of the seal 🤦🏼‍♀️
Great machine and agree I love the tune at the end 😂 we have a Samsung dance in our house!

Xanadu58 · 01/04/2024 15:22

The tune it plays when the washing has finished is "The Trout" by Schubert!

Yes the door seal is apparently not covered by the warranty!

I love ours.
I loathe the tune at the end. Me and DH are in a vicious cycle of turning it on and off

Theraininspainfalls · 02/04/2024 06:18

What do those who live theirs love about it? The tune doesn’t matter to me.

On my second one and I love it. First one lasted years.
