Dim Sum in China Town. Joy King Lau is really nice.

Monket · 31/03/2024 20:28

Leicester Square Kitchens.

AlohaRose · 31/03/2024 20:30

Price? cuisine? There are dozens.

Xiaoxiong · 31/03/2024 20:33

So, basically the entirety of Soho, St James and Covent Garden. You need to give us a price range and cuisine to narrow it down.

Also, is it for tonight for a walk-in, or in two months time so you can get into somewhere like the Devonshire or Arlington or Bocca du Lupo with a reservation?

Kate3150 · 31/03/2024 20:33

We like Italian, Indian the most.
Mid price range, nothing too posh x

Burger & Lobster is my fave, I love a lobster roll.

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 31/03/2024 20:34

Dishoom there is one in Covent Garden

Nattalie18 · 31/03/2024 20:35

Try Bancone. You’ll need to book a table!

Little Italy and Sartori are nice Italian options.

YorkshireOldGal · 31/03/2024 20:36

Speedboat Bar is fun and so good. Also Kricket for Indian or the Palomar also lovely.

Alchemistress · 31/03/2024 20:42

Another vote for Balcone.
Ave Mario in Covent Garden.
Fallow on Haymarket

Agree Ave Mario is great too

Xiaoxiong · 31/03/2024 20:53

Bocca di Lupo or Bancone for Italian, and Hoppers or Kricket for Indian.

waitingforautumn · 31/03/2024 21:20

Cicchetti was massively overpriced IMO - you'll easily spend £60pp and come out hungry! I've heard good things about Masala Zone but yet to go, if you aren't already eyeing up Dishoom.

Fatt Pundit isn't too far and does REALLY good 'Kolkatan' style fusion food

I do adore Hoppers and have seen that above - another vote from me!

We like Little Italy in Leicester Square

dastidlydaschel · 31/03/2024 23:04

Dishoom is very chain restaurant, average food, not worth the hype. I don't recommend when there are so many other places to go.

I disagree it isn't a huge chain and is consistently good. The OP said the like Indian. You don't need to book and is close by...

CormorantStrikesBack · 01/04/2024 07:52

Wahaca?

MidnightPatrol · 01/04/2024 07:55

Bocca di Lupo and Bancone both good suggestions.

The latter more affordable IMO.

Cafe Murano another good Italian.

PoppingTomorrow · 01/04/2024 08:06

Masala Zone is good - I like it because they do individual thali in the evening not just at lunchtime

Propertylover · 01/04/2024 08:32

My tip for Leicester Square is (starter and) main in one restaurant and desert in Hagan Daz.

Millersmerkin · 01/04/2024 08:50

I second masala zone
