Did you tip your cleaner over Easter?

My cleaner is amazing! However I didn't even think you had to give a bonus at Easter? (I do at Xmas)

Did you? She was definitely expecting it 😬 now I feel bad that I didn't even know that tipping at Easter was a thing (she worked the Thursday not the bank hols)

I didn't know this was a thing! I got a cleaner a few months ago for the first time in my life. How much do you tip? And when?? Is it normal to buy gifts??

No absolutely not. I do at Christmas but that's all.

If you tip your cleaner do you then have to tip all the other folk you give something extra too at Christmas. Where do you draw the line

Gave her an Easter egg of a brand she’s mentioned she likes. But no I’ve never heard of anybody giving an Easter tip, that’s not a thing. I give a bonus at christmas, no other time.

Never thought of that- maybe I should have bought her an egg. Her day is Monday and I will pay her for the day although obviously she won’t be working so maybe that’s ok.

No, only at Christmas. We don't really "do" Easter in our house so it wouldn't occur to me to do anything for my cleaner then. I don't think Easter tipping is a thing anyway.

No. We are good clients and pay well, plus a tip at Christmas. That’s enough.

Nope, I know she doesn't do the full two hours. She gets a box of chocs at Christmas.

@MugLove I'm interested why you pay on a BH Monday? As the Monday client you must end up with a lot more bank holidays than those on other days of the week. My cleaner moved me to a Monday (I certainly didn't want it but it suited her) and I have never paid for bank holidays, I would feel very put out to do so given that I didn't choose the days and I'd be pretty much paying all the bank holidays in the year without that week's clean unlike all the other houses for the rest of the week.

Didn’t tip here, we do at Xmas. And I give her chocolate fairly regularly

I only tip at Christmas - more so because it's the end of year/another year of hard.
She doesn't really celebrate Easter.

@MsFogi My cleaner is fantastic so I’m pretty relaxed about it. I pay her when she’s ill as well.
