Did the clocks go forward last night?

I've not long woke up and feel quite tired still. I'm usually up at 7 most mornings.
I've googled and can't work out if the clocks are going forward tonight or already have last night.

Yep

Quanked · 31/03/2024 07:25

Yes they’ve gone forwards

Tel12 · 31/03/2024 07:25

Yes they did. I didn't tell the dog but she put her body click forward anyway!

AIstolemylunch · 31/03/2024 07:25

Already happened. There was no 1.00 am this morning. It went 12.59 to 2.00. I was watching.

LucyLaundry · 31/03/2024 07:25

I really wonder how some people make it through the day.

calligraphee · 31/03/2024 07:26

Always a Saturday night, meaning Sunday is always the new time.

OnHerSolidFoundations · 31/03/2024 07:27

I had absolutely no idea. Thank you op!

JennyfromtheBlok · 31/03/2024 07:27

@AIstolemylunch never seen this before. Must have looked odd.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 31/03/2024 07:28

Yes they did. It happened last year too, at about this time of year. I blame the Government. They keep.chopping and changing things - policies, Prime Ministers, the clocks, EU etc. etc.

Awrite · 31/03/2024 07:31

I knew. I forgot. I woke up, checked the time and thought 'blimey, I've woken up early'.

Happens with automatic forwarding of phones and wotnot.

To be fair in an age of smart phones, apple watches and alexas everything changes the time automatically now. It's never until I go downstairs and see ye olde clock on the wall that I realise!

I'm also not surprised people are confused about what day its happening with it being the Easter Bank Holiday. I've thought it was Saturday for the past two days!

Surely you thought you'd woken up late

Technically, it's always a Sunday morning as it happens at 1am. 😉

Newbeginningsandhappy · 31/03/2024 07:37

Completely forgot and went with the time on my phone. Have just realised the house clocks are an hour behind.

But she's googled and still couldn't work it out! Clocks always change on a Sunday, 1am -2am. That's not new. Also, calendars, diaries, online information is everywhere!

4FourYears · 31/03/2024 07:38

Thanks all. That's a shame as dc are usually up early on Easter Sunday so thought I'd got a lie in.

Agreed. I question this daily

PuppyMonkey · 31/03/2024 07:54

You Googled it OP, so what did Google tell you? Because I just Googled it for the laughs and this is the first thing that comes up:

In the UK the clocks go forward 1 hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and back 1 hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October

DinosaursAreMyLife · 31/03/2024 07:58

Next time, simply use your phone and Google "what is the time" and all will be revealed.

DinosaursAreMyLife · 31/03/2024 07:58

Or Google "when do the clocks change". Google is marvellous, I use it all the time!

But…. The clocks have gone FORWARD. Why would you think you had woken up early?

dementedpixie · 31/03/2024 09:17

Most of our clocks/watches change automatically. Had to change the oven, microwave and central heating time manually. And my bedside clock. I did attempt to change it last night but went the wrong direction which was very confusing this morning 😆

Dontcallmescarface · 31/03/2024 09:17

The "official" time the clocks actually change is 1am (if going forward, 2am if going back), so technically they change today but most changed their clocks last night.
