Why don't we leave carrots out for the Easter Bunny?

We do in my house! Why not do it, it's fun, the kids enjoy it?

Because Easter hasn't yet turned into the absolute farce that Christmas has. If we start leaving carrots out for the bunny where will it end?

Carrots aren't very good for rabbits, too high in sugar.

We used to. We also did presents (small amount of cost) as my ds didnt like chocolate.

I was in the a&e with my son the other day. A 5-6 yo girl said quite loud : Easter isn’t about the bunny. It’s about God. She said it a few times. Are the carrots for god ?

I thought the same earlier today OP. Father Christmas has a sleigh to deliver all the gifts. How does the Bunny manage? I also mused about opening an Easter jumper factory.

The Easter bunny being the deliverer of eggs has only become a thing (in some households) since social media.

As much as I am a grump about all the crap that comes along with everything these days (I'm looking at you Elf on the Shelf) we definitely had the Easter Bunny in the late 80s/90s

There was no social media in the early 1980s and the Easter Bunny was definitely the ones bringing our eggs and hiding them.

We leave a carrot out for the Easter bunny.

Well, has the Easter Bunny pulled a sleigh carrying a fat dude in a red suit delivering presents to children the world over, or has he just dropped off a few chocolate eggs willy nilly?

Red suit dude has helpers though, Easter Bunny does it all solo!

I think there is probably more than one.

Our Elf always visited at Easter for the day and left Easter themed arts and crafts from Hobby Lobby and ingredients for shredded wheat cakes etc. Stuff I would have given anyway but sitting the Elf amongst it made it a little more magic and kept DD busy over Easter.

Why doesn't the Easter Bunny leave carrots for the children then? Instead of chocolate eggs. Bunnies don't lay eggs...
