Weddings. I’m just not a fan. I’m delighted when friends get married but generally find the day long and boring. Yes, I’ve been to some absolutely beautiful weddings and had a lovely time but generally speaking, I’d prefer to be doing something else.

Many (not all) people with Long Covid, Fibromyalgia, CFS etc are actually neurodivergent with a hyper-fixation/special obsession on their own bodily symptoms. Post viral issues combined with heightened sensory issues leads to genuine, ongoing problems.

I don’t understand why the USA is viewed as a superpower when so much about it as a country is so backwards.

Agree about weddings but I’d go one further and say I’d like to see marriage abolished - it’s history is pure misogyny and subjugation of women and discourages women from protecting their individual interests and autonomy.

Related: It’s fine to not give any money or a gift at a wedding.

Way too many people are wrapped up in the concept of whether something is “normal” rather than thinking about how they actually feel.

I have no problem with trans people, surrogacy or egg/sperm donation.

Being unemployed/sick long term is the worst thing for mental health and many people who claim they can’t work due to depression and anxiety actually just can’t be arsed (sincerely, someone with depression, anxiety, ADHD and BPD who has never not worked). Illnesses that cause psychosis may be an exception.

If I was the leader of say North Korea then damn right I’d have nuclear weapons to defend myself against the madness of the west, since the USA is the only country ever to have dropped a nuclear bomb I have no idea why they consider themselves to be in charge of controlling who else should have them.

One of the problems with the American healthcare system is that it's littered with injury lawyers, It's highly litigious, and has massive suing culture embedded within it. They actually make a profit off of you if you pick the wrong insurer.

Although with people defending the NHS, I can't help but notice that the NHS business model has never been emulated by other countries. That tells me something.

Generally, I view it like this:

America - "That's a nasty wound you have there. A hundred and eleventy basquillion dollars, please!"
England - "That's a nasty wound you have there. The best I can do is some Sellotape and PVA glue, in 2 years' time."
Canada - "That's a nasty wound you have there. Have you considered <redacted> yourself?"

No one who is of working age and healthy should receive ANY benefits; ALL of that money should go to children’s education and to support disabled children.

People who have never work due to anxiety and depression are anxious and depressed because they are not interacting with other humans or contributing to society. I would be anxious and depressed if I did nothing all day every day too.

Many years ago I would have agreed with you! But now we are more aware of the ADHD problems I can now recognise that my son who is late 20s and myself are text book ADHD …always thought it was badly behaved children but my son was compliant but very disorganised,distracted and stupidly intelligent. Poor time management I thought was lazy and couldn’t be bothered etc . Now I am educated about ADHD I really understand this really is a problem.
Arguments in my head about what I am going to do every day ,I managed by being super organised when my children were younger .Now i am almost hitting 60 ,I can now understand my own struggles !

If Brits were made to work rather than being given handouts, we wouldn't need labour from overseas. Because we do and so acutely, I have no issue with immigration.

If Labour levy 20%VAT on independent schools it might focus arguments about the poor standards in state schools where one size, massive comps do not suit all children. Specialist schools for children with specialist needs need to return and truly disruptive, anti-social children/young people should be easier to expel.

The NHS is free at the point of delivery. It is not free, it is paid for by the people for the people and sub-optimal standards and poorer care for women rather than men can no longer be tolerated. NHS staff need significant customer service training.

Customer service has gone to hell in a handcart as have basic good manners. I expect staff to say thank you.

I agree. Inclusion is like communism- great on paper, pretty shit in reality. If it was FUNDED properly we'd be fine, but it isn't & we aren't. This is why I'm fighting with every ounce of energy in my body for my DC with ASN & uncontrollable epilepsy to have the education they need in a specialist school. It's mind-numbingly difficult.

I've been a teacher 29 years & I know how terrible the system is for any child with ASN. The powers that be forget that I know how shit it is. They also don't know how hard I'll fight, but they're starting to realise.

I’m an ex - model ( though not a very successful one I admit!) but basically generic pretty girl. I’m sure I could have married money if I wanted.

Did go out with an older rich man in my youth. Was bored senseless and the fancy car, holidays and homes very quickly lost their appeal- I would NEVER marry a man for money ( or looks actually). They just don’t make you happy.

Now I’m 40’s and divorced I do wish I’d divorced a rich man and could enjoy his money, but frankly, it would have been easier to get a well paying corporate job- less soul destroying.
