The things you see in B&M!

Not being rude here BTW I'm constantly in B&M and love it 😂

But you see some right sights.

Yesterday a woman came in with a TV bracket and said her TV doesn't fit. So she wanted to exchange it for the one she had brought to the till.

Supervisor asks for receipt, she doesn't have one, so he refuses to exchange.

She goes ballistic and just grabs the new one and runs out of the shop!

He gives chase and they stand at the entrance whilst she's howling for him to get away from her. He grabs the bracket from her.

She then comes back in to get the old bracket and starts shouting at him again!

Then in the toiletries ailse a bloke takes a spray can of deodorant, uses it on both pits and puts it back!! 🤢

I once saw a man put a 4 pack of smarties down his pants too.

A woman walked onto Lidl in front of me yesterday with a child about 5 and a toddler in a buggy, She stopped by the Bakery and gave each child a pizza, left the buggy and ran off came back with 2 cartoons of juice and a pack of cheese triangles and 2 bananas and shoved them under the buggy, turned around and went to go back out the door, the older child said something to her and she rushed back to the bakery and grabbed some donuts before disappearing out the door. Obviously had to feed her children.

That's so sad :(

I once watched a guy steal a bottle of brown lemonade in Tesco. He put it in his bag. We made eye contact. I smiled. He smiled back. I'm not sure if that makes me guilty too.

Anickasmidden · 30/03/2024 19:33

I seen a mum with a baby in the trolley and a toddler taking swigs from a buckfast bottle on her way round b and m 😩

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 30/03/2024 19:34

My dd works in a high street store and tells me tales of the shoplifters. They all wear headsets so when one is suspected all the staff in the area are alerted and told to go and watch them.

At times they will apparently announce over the tannoy security to 'x' suspected shoplifters in area.

They also have people who switch the sticky labels on home goods over. They will stop them at tills and say oh sorry this has been priced wrong!

Last week they had a large group of teens in who included some who had been caught before. After they had left they were all on high alert for any teens in groups. An announcement was made to watch a group coming down the escalator.....it my youngest dd with a couple of her friends going to say hi to her sister.....😂

This is the problem. As a shop worker, you can do absolutely nothing if someone walks out with a load of stock. If only we could tazer them🤣

Or press a button and drop a giant net over them like in the 80's batman

Someone I know works for a big supermarket chain. Fella walks in, grabs a mop bucket from the home section. Then walks to the spirits section, pours 3 litres of vodka into the bucket, and walks out.

Vacantstare · 30/03/2024 19:55

I saw two men walk calmly out of Asda the other day with shopping baskets full to the brim with vodka and other spirits, still with the security tags attached. No security guard ran after them!

They stopped me and asked if I'd like to buy any alcohol (no thanks!) and said to my toddler "let's hope you don't turn out like us haha"😮

As I walked away, they had stationed themselves outside the entrance door and were asking anyone who walked by if they wanted a good deal! Obviously weren't worried about being caught🤣

A Woman walked into Home Bargains, opened up some Lavender Oil and proceeded to use it on her Hands & Forearms and then put it back on the shelf. She must have done it before because she went straight for it, no messing about.

I went into our local Sainsbury's to buy steak for Sunday dinner. I waited patiently while a chap was carefully selecting his until he suddenly opened a sports bag and emptied all the steak trays into it and legged it. I was so shocked I stood opened mouthed and then found a member of staff. She just shrugged and said it happened all the time.
We had chicken for tea.

Iop · 30/03/2024 20:04

I was queuing for some kids' activity - face painting maybe? - in our shopping centre last summer when 3 teenage lads legged it out of Next, each one carrying an armful of suits, jeans etc, and disappeared round the corner. The alarms went off as they ran out but no staff or security appeared. Everyone in the queue just stood open mouthed, but the three boys were laughing. I had the impression they were just doing it for the thrill.

EasyLittleBee · 30/03/2024 20:09

Years ago the at the local Sainsbury’s a man walked in and strolled out with a Dyson.
The amount of steak etc that is now in plastic boxes or security tagged is quite sad really.

JanesTeddy · 30/03/2024 20:22

I have just seen a man run out of Tesco's being chased by a Giant Easter Rabbit followed by a security guard. The man was stopped and a cardboard box of bacon was recovered but only after the security guard was nearly bitten and the poor Rabbit struggling not to get thumped. The rabbit was a checkout supervisor who today dressed up to bring joy to customers and other staff, and neither member of staff should have received the level of abuse they did.

CoffeeWithCheese · 30/03/2024 20:29

Local Tesco has the travelator ramps... it's made DD1's day to go in and see some teens being kicked out for giving in to the temptation, inspired by the reboot of Gladiators to do the inevitable Eliminator Re-enactment.

Hiddendoor · 30/03/2024 20:30

Not B&M but I 8nce watched a youth in Lush shove a tracksuit put a small display cube thing down the front of his joggers. Stunned, I turned to a member of staff and told them what I saw. They thanked me for letting them know and then fave me a huge bag of freebies as a thank you. Baffled me.

Ahwig · 30/03/2024 20:36

Not in B and M but in Sainsburys the other day a bloke had put a big box of carrots on the conveyor belt. And when I say big box I mean the huge box of loose carrots that people pick up a few loose ones from. Obviously there was no bar code or price . There must have been about 200 carrots. The cashier had no clue what to do with them. She decided to take a few at a time and weigh them but the bloke got the hump that it was taking so long. Myself and another lady in the queue got the giggles at the finish as we were surmising what the hell you would do with 200 carrots. I mean surely not even bugs bunny ears that many . The bloke gave up about half way through the cashier weighing them which meant there was mud and carrots everywhere.

Batlady78 · 30/03/2024 20:44

I saw a guy pick up a hairbrush off the shelf, brush his greasy hair with it and put it back on the shelf!

MissHoollie · 30/03/2024 20:53

Self service tills are the worst.
I have seen people doing things like scanning every 2 Nd item ..having someone stand to hide them

Lanterns12828 · 30/03/2024 20:56

Well you get a certain class of people shopping in discount stores.

tothelefttotheleft · 30/03/2024 21:39

All sorts of people shop in discount stores.

Lanterns12828 · 30/03/2024 21:41

tothelefttotheleft · 30/03/2024 21:39

All sorts of people shop in discount stores.

Correct, but the class of people I am talking about are unlikely to shop at Harrods and more likely to shop at discount stores.

bandm · 30/03/2024 21:48

I work for b&m. Can confirm I see this type of thing on a daily basis 🤣

Dewdilly · 30/03/2024 21:49

NC03 · 30/03/2024 17:22

You can't move in my town for home bargains or b&m
I had to google map once for the address of one and I think we have 5 of each. Also 4 x Aldi Confused

I haven’t heard of Home Bargains either!
Aldi we have plenty of.

Hellendegenerate · 30/03/2024 21:50

@Mamananny

So.....you have seen the real Mr Smartiepants !! 😁. I always wondered does he actually exist?!

BCBird · 30/03/2024 21:53

I was followed around a B and M once. Must look dodgy🙁 Had no intention of stealing anything

Hellendegenerate · 30/03/2024 21:55

This was in my local Marks and Spencers in the bedding department. A young lady sitting on one of the display beds showing pretty frilly bedding and she was eating what looked like a Chinese noodle and tomato type meal from a carton.

Not one staff member said a word to her.

😏😣😬
