How long does a tub of table salt last you?

We have just finished one, the tall Saxa one, and I can't remember how long we have had it. I think more than 2 years though. I was saying to my DH that I don't know how they make a profit, and he thought other households go through them more quickly. So, just wondering, what is others usage? Trivial I know!

I buy a box of Maldon every 3 months or so. But I cook everything from scratch and add salt to basically everything.

every 3 months or so we buy a 700g bag. we use it pure or refill shakers with it.

potatoes & pasta taste awful without salt.

I have heart disease, so salt is not added to much, it depends how icy it is outdoors as to whether we'd get through a whole tub a year.

Table salt, about a year because I only use it for making play dough.

Pink salt in a grinder maybe a year and a bit for a big one?

Maybe 10 years, I only use it for salting veg for pickling, or aubergines to dry them out, things like that. We have rock salt in our grinder but only refill that once a year or so. The main use of the rock salt is for making bread or pizza dough, when I'm doing that regularly I use quite a bit. I don't use it when cooking rice, pasta or vegetables.

I think I only buy those white saxa bottles when I'm using clothes dye. We use a lot of other salts. I certainly don't underseason, My pasta water is like seawater lol

Years! I don't usually add it in cooking, but do sprinkle on chips and roast potatoes. My food is still tasty though as I use marmite, bovril, chicken powder etc. that all contain salt.

I regularly buy the massive tubs of Maldon sea salt. I season everything when cooking from scratch, though. I dread to think what unseasoned cooking is going on around here 😭

I buy a kg of flaked sea salt at a time. Amazon says I last purchased in July 2023.

I use salt in a grinder. Don't know how long it lasts but it's many times longer than the black pepper! We get through a lot of that.

Mine was my Nan and Grandad's, they died in 2009!!! I bought my flat that year so my DM gave me lots of their non-perishables when she was clearing their house. Married with two DC now and still have 1/3 of the tub left. It's a family heirloom GrinI hardly ever use salt.

Literally years. I can’t remember the last time we bought salt and there’s still plenty in the pack in the cupboard. We rarely add salt to home-cooked food, and most processed food is already ridiculously over-salted so there is no way we are adding more.

I have a tub of Saxa salt which is at least half full. Was bought 28 years ago for post operative salt baths. Various surgeries later for DH and I, still half full!
We do get through a crystal salt (small packet) about once every 18 months or so

Kettle of boiling water and a sprinkling of Saxa will sort the weeds out on the patio, otherwise I'm on the Maldon.

We got about 3 tubs of it from my SIL when she emigrated- I have no idea why she had 3! But that was years ago & we still have all 3 and haven't really made much of a dent in the first one. I do use it to season occasionally, but don't find many things need it.

The tub of fine table salt lasts ages indeed, but I have different types of salt in my cupboard and some of those are running out quite fast. That is my go-to souvenir - lava rock salt from Iceland, lavender infused salt from France, porcini flavoured salt from Italy etc.
