Just that really! For me, it's chutney. One of my school friends used to have it every day on her sandwiches back in the day and it would make me heave! Now as an adult, I love it and would happily spoon it in my mouth right from the jar! 😁

Cheese! It literally made me sick as a child. Wouldn’t touch it at all in any form. Now I adore it.

Letsnotargue · 27/03/2024 13:53

Avocados, mushrooms and, weirdly, baked potatoes.

Cookerhood · 27/03/2024 13:54

Mayonnaise!
Someone once gave me salad cream & lettuce sandwiches when I went for tea & they were disgusting. I thought mayo was the same, until.i was in my 20s .
Actually, interesting how small the teas we had at friends in the 60s/early 70s. Boiled egg & soldiers, lettuce sandwiches!
I suppose we had a hot lunch at school.

Dark chocolate.
Almond flavours like amaretto.

Miamasmin · 27/03/2024 14:30

Beetroot and walnuts!

Hoppinggreen · 27/03/2024 14:30

Fresh Tomatoes - Once i discovered that not all tomatoes were those awful things we were served with salads in the 80s I no longer hated them

Newestname002 · 27/03/2024 14:36

Broccoli, French beans, cabbage and Brussel sprouts. All used to be overcooked so were soggy and lacked colour. I've learned to love them lightly cooked and maybe with a light dressing added whilst still warm. Also it helps that sprouts have had some of the bitterness bred out of them and I love them steamed or sautéed. Lovely. 🌹

Celery, I loathed it as a child until my nan made it boiled with carrots, in a cheese sauce. I probably eat it 3 times a week now!

MissyB1 · 27/03/2024 15:34

cabbage, hated it on school dinners. Love it now, could eat it every day! Oh and porridge too.

I am rather the opposite. I was force fed green veg (brussels, cabbage, peas etc) as a child and made to sit there for hours even if I tried it and gagged and spat it out my father would still make me eat it.
Now aged 56 I have never eaten any green veg in my life since. Which is hard being a vegetarian.

Springysusan · 27/03/2024 15:50

Eggs, cheese, cream and most green vegetables. Subsequently became my favourite foods Confused

NannyGythaOgg · 27/03/2024 16:14

Mummyofthewildones · 27/03/2024 16:23

All kinds of cream, but especially clotted cream used to make me gag when i was a kid. Sadly for my waistline I now love cream 🤣

Oh dear! 😂

I've always liked greens and would swap cabbage for potatoes, in junior school. My dad said I lapped up cabbage, broccoli and the like as a baby, my daughter did, too. She's currently eating gnocchi, with spinach and cabbage and cheese.

Mushrooms
Tomatoes
Eggs
Olives
Cream, mayo
Yogurt

That's why I can't stomach bananas, even though I'll eat banana custard - after fishing the bananas out. Same with porridge, I've never been able to stand it.
