Just that really, so many Mumsnetters are working from home, it makes me wonder what job you do? I assume they are all fairly well paid rather than minimum wage jobs or am I wrong?

You are all too busy WFH to respond to this thread 😂

I think there have been quite a few threads like this! I’d say most office jobs are/can be done from home now.

I’m a tax adviser, mostly wfh (no choice) but hate it 🥲

littlejo67 · 27/03/2024 13:44

I work for a NHS Talking Therapies service as a psychotherapist. It's a band 7 post..I work from a home office doing secure video therapy with patients..

I should have checked first to see if there were any other threads!

Sorry to hear you hate your job.

I work in marketing. Usually in the office one day a week, the rest from home.

yeesh · 27/03/2024 13:49

I work for the local council

Clicheinaqashqai · 27/03/2024 13:49

I am an in-house marketing & comms manager. Not 100% wfh, but I only have to go in if there is a meeting that has to be onsite or if I fancy catching up with colleagues. Averages about once a week. Otherwise fully flexible to do school run, take DC to activities and have a weekday off as I do compressed hours.

I have a very much a love/hate relationship with my job. Not brilliantly paid but the flexibility is very valuable to me at the moment.

Eyesopenwideawake · 27/03/2024 13:49

I'm a remedial hypnotist generally working via Zoom (I also see clients in person at home).

bryceQ · 27/03/2024 13:50

I have a marketing business

Purplesmurple · 27/03/2024 13:51

Video editor, I’m in a small online wfh group of women and we sometimes have social lunch zoom calls and there’s a couple of software developers or in roles in the tech space, someone in an admin role and a couple in marketing type roles.

elQuintoConyo · 27/03/2024 13:53

Tefl teacher/translator. Been online for years. I also gave a handful of classes OOTH and the odd bit of interpreting.

HerRoyalNotness · 27/03/2024 14:01

Cost controller for an engineering company. Technically they want everyone in the office but as I’m on hourly contract I don’t have full time hours so I’m not going in. Loads of colleagues work from home too (engineers, procurement etc) they’re so far getting away with it. Although our country director has sent an email out asking us to explain ourselves, our office manager just told them to not reply.

Rollinroller · 27/03/2024 14:04

I work for a youth / health charity as a major donor fundraiser

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/03/2024 14:05

I’m a data officer for a children hospice. It’s not excellent pay but it’s flexible, the team are lovely, and they are putting me through some qualifications which mean I’ll be more employable elsewhere when I no longer need wfh (eg when kids are older) I had a career change last year from teaching, then pastoral/admin support in school so starting at the bottom. I’m on 26k

You can hypnotise people over zoom?

Chairwoman · 27/03/2024 14:06

Systems Analyst - on 37k (couple of k bonus last year but not a given) so not big bucks but flexible and works well with family life.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 27/03/2024 14:07

I think a lot of jobs are hybrid now rather than 100% office or home. I’m the chief exec of a charity so do a mixture depending on my diary commitments.

cannaecookrisotto · 27/03/2024 14:09

I've WFH as a director in a multi-national.

Just started my own company so will be running it from home. Scared shitless.

cannaecookrisotto · 27/03/2024 14:11

Forgot the pay bit.

Board Director - £130k

Own business- £144k so not a huge increase but I don't have to put up with the political corporate bullshit that I've gotten so sick of over the last 10 years.

Illpickthatup · 27/03/2024 14:13

Clinical Trial Manager

catin8oots · 27/03/2024 14:17

Advisor for a charity

RomansTheyGoTheHouse · 27/03/2024 14:19

IT Manager - about £75k

I used to earn twice that as an IT Director but it involved a lot of international travel and, in all honesty, too many hours.

I now work 35 hours a week from home and have so much flexibility and time, I am really glad I gave up the extra £.

Colinfromaccounts24 · 27/03/2024 14:19

Senior Manager in Professional Service Division at a University. £80k. Have FT WFH flexible working arrangement agreed, I go in when I fancy it/ if I need to, which is not very often. I have a 5 hour round trip commute so it is VERY helpful with flexibility for school events etc.

Felixinthefactory · 27/03/2024 14:19

Work in IT security. In the office about once every 2 months. 65k.
