Just that really, so many Mumsnetters are working from home, it makes me wonder what job you do? I assume they are all fairly well paid rather than minimum wage jobs or am I wrong?

A few pence an hour over minimum wage here! WFH half the week, the rest in the office. Health administration and call taking

turkeymuffin · 01/04/2024 21:31

Research & Development ( med tech ) management.
£80k ish.
WFH most of the time, sometimes have meetings at hospitals.

TheLondonDad · 01/04/2024 21:40

UX designer. Full time WFH

Janet83 · 01/04/2024 21:56

I find it hilarious that you can earn way above the national average yet still find time to post regularly on mumsnet about how much you earn 😂

HappyMummaOfOne · 01/04/2024 22:02

I WFH 4 days a week (condensed hours so 8am-6pm) as a Pensions and Investments administrator for a company in a different part of the country. My manager is amazing and team are great and it fits in with family life which is the best part of the job. Salary is only £30k pa with annual discretionary bonus but the flexibility of the job outweighs the salary part.

DaisyHaites · 01/04/2024 22:02

Ooh, snap!

Zola1 · 01/04/2024 22:05

I work as a reviewing officer for the local authority, I could do most of my work from home if I wanted. I prefer to be hybrid (if i go into work, its from an office I choose to go to rather than one I have to go to) and to conduct meetings face to face. Many of my colleagues are entirely wfh.

PaulAnkaTheDoggo · 01/04/2024 22:11

Hybrid but more WFH. Recruitment Manager for a large contact centre.

lechatnoir · 01/04/2024 22:17

Similar to @thenewaveragebear1983 I moved into a completely new industry/role and entry level so shit pay (£28k) but lovely colleagues, really flexible working pattern as long as we work core hours 10-2 which is amazing with kid duties. I'm entry level and literally just saw an ad and thought fuck it why not!

TheThoughtfulCandlemaker · 01/04/2024 22:18

Candle business and run candle making workshops for those who want to start their own business. The candle studio is at the bottom of the garden.

I work for a large multinational company & have worked from home for the last 15 years in a variety of roles & pay grades. I have worked compressed hours (4 days) for the last 12 years.

I’m currently a finance & operations manager on ~£60k and I manage a team spread around the world, my manager is in USA and I have one colleague in this country. I have never actually met anyone in real life that I work with in my current role.

It works for me in the main.

Stickyricepudding · 01/04/2024 22:37

In the office once a week with the rest wfh as an operational manager for a brand agency

Rapunzel91 · 01/04/2024 22:40

Work in accounting full time - 25k a year so not well paid

RampantIvy · 01/04/2024 22:42

Website content.

Dinosaurdrip · 01/04/2024 22:43

I'm a clinical coder, 100% wfh, I live up north and the Trust I work for is way down south so never have to go into the office.

NotStayingIn · 01/04/2024 22:46

TV producer. 70k. Work mainly from home, one day a week at the production office and otherwise on set or in an edit.

asmallcountry · 01/04/2024 23:41

@Thirstysue Can I ask what training course(s) / certifications you did for your role?

Orangeandgold · 01/04/2024 23:49

Marketing. WFH as we are a small remote team.

CharlotteBog · 02/04/2024 00:14

Journal editor (science journal).
Head office is in Hong Kong. There are a few people in the HK office, but most of us WFH from all over the world.
I love it. I've WFH for many years, starting at CalTech and now this job.

TheCatterall · 02/04/2024 01:50

I have two businesses I run from home - main focus is currently my work for charities and agencies that work with them. I do workshops, courses and consultancy work but am only out of the house with it 2 or 3 days a month if that.

I take August and most of December / 1 week of January off.

i work part time hours (20 hours max per week) due to my health but due to my rates it covers my household needs.

will never be 6 figures etc but I just need something super flexible for my health and because I care for my eldest.

from this business I will make about £23k and my other business is about £8k right now as it’s in the back burner.

This supports me fully and I have no one else contributing at home - I live up North.

Singlespies · 02/04/2024 07:13

Engineer. 90k a year. But have over 25 years experience, hence large salary

I just managed to negotiate a pay rise, after moving jobs, at your “shit” pay level. I’m worth much more, but not recognised for the work I do. Realised that Yours is part time work, I work full time plus lots extra, as we are understaffed. And I had a fight to get that pay increase.

Lots of people work very hard for much less too.

GnomeDePlume · 02/04/2024 07:29

Finance manager £80k. Office is in London and I go in maybe once per month. There is a big systems aspect to my role so it's more important that people can get hold of me than they can see me in person.

TakingTheHorseToFrance · 02/04/2024 07:31

Admin/PA/accounts admin/tendering for a tiny company, so small they don't have an office. Love it. I left a job I was really unhappy with. Pay is not great as I work about 20 hours per week. I bring a vast amount of experience with me and they are really lucky to have me. I'll do this for another couple of years and when the kids are older I'll try get into the public sector

AgileMentor · 02/04/2024 07:33

I’m a housekeeper not on minimum wage
