Just that really, so many Mumsnetters are working from home, it makes me wonder what job you do? I assume they are all fairly well paid rather than minimum wage jobs or am I wrong?

Forgot the pay bit.

Board Director - £130k

Own business- £144k so not a huge increase but I don't have to put up with the political corporate bullshit that I've gotten so sick of over the last 10 years.

I can imagine the corporate politics are something you are glad to be away from.

IT Manager - about £75k

I used to earn twice that as an IT Director but it involved a lot of international travel and, in all honesty, too many hours.

I now work 35 hours a week from home and have so much flexibility and time, I am really glad I gave up the extra £.

If I were in your situation I would have made the change too.

Government Department. I work 20 hours a week. Go into the office 2 or 3 times a month. My hours are quite flexible. £43,500 a year pro rata.

dothehokeycokey · 27/03/2024 14:30

Have my own business that I work from home in and I see people face to face.

4 days a week generally but sometimes five or three so it evens out to around 30 hrs a week

£80,000

You can hypnotise people over zoom?

I don’t use trance hypnosis so it’s as effective via zoom as it is in person.

pinkpixie83 · 27/03/2024 14:34

Two jobs:

Main - Office Manager Civil Engineering - WFH as and when I want aim for 3 days in the office, mainly because we are a small team and I like it.
Second - Bookkeeper - for a bookkeeping practice - Fully remote, the business is the other side of the country to me, and i've only met my boss on teams and other members of the team verbally on the phone.

Virtual Assistant.

@nikachoo Do you mind me asking what qualifications you need for this job? I’m interested to know as I’ve often thought I would like this type of work.

Author. Pay anywhere from laughable up to quite decent, depends on the month and how sales have been and how my publishers have pushed the books (which is why I also work OOTH in a local supermarket).

FawnFrenchieMum · 27/03/2024 14:39

All our roles are hybrid (except the receptionist and porter) from entry level admin to senior managerment. The more senior you are the more flexible it tends to be.

katystar · 27/03/2024 14:44

Admin 25hrs a week £13 an hour. This includes some marketing/social media management if I wanted to I could probably find a higher paying role but I love my team and work.

Rugby1971 · 27/03/2024 14:49

Call centre for a charity. Just slightly above minimum wage.

shivbo2014 · 27/03/2024 14:58

Housing Officer, hybrid 1-2 days office, lots of visits and the rest of time wfh. £37000

APurpleSquirrel · 27/03/2024 14:58

I work in marketing/admin - slightly above minimum wage. My office was closed down after Covid & my boss relocated to Scotland; the HQ is in London but I've not been there for years (I'm in the SW).
WFH has been the best thing to come out of the pandemic for me/our family.

TooraLoora · 27/03/2024 15:38

Senior Executive Assistant I work from home 100%

Baneofmyexistence · 27/03/2024 15:57

I work for a small national charity, 10 hours a week and definitely minimum wage! All done from home, we don’t have any offices!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 27/03/2024 16:07

I'm a Business Development Manager for a tour operator, combination of WFH and field based (go to the office maybe bi-monthly) but with no set days - some weeks I can be home all week, others only one day. I'm lucky in that I can manage my own diary and my line manager cares about outcomes rather than working set office hours.
Salary £45k so not huge, but lots of perks and bonuses - and I live in a cheap area so I've no desire to earn more and have more stress!

ThatBeachLyfe · 27/03/2024 16:11

Media partnerships, wfh 4 days a week, in the office 1 day.

Liverbegone · 27/03/2024 16:20

Customer service in insurance sector.

25k full time.

However i have a very very light workload so I have a lot of free time during the day (they're opening more offices abroad so they're getting all the work)

theriseandfallofFranklinSaint · 27/03/2024 16:22

University Admin (Officer) - Hybrid

We WFH but with one day in the office although I've just get my smaller team in for 2 days a week as we work so much better in a face-to-face team and they had actually asked if we could do more than 1 day in the office.

So 3 days WFH - 2 days in the office which is perfect 😊

SnowdaySewday · 27/03/2024 16:47

Local Authority. Agile and flexible working, ie work your contracted hours at home or in the office at any point within a 12 hour “window” between 7am and 7pm.

We’re told, “Work is something you do, not somewhere you go”.

CountryShepherd · 27/03/2024 16:53

Fundraising relationship manager for a medium national charity. Sufficient but not thrilling salary plus car. Out and about as required but only in the office quarterly
