Mine is champagne problems by Taylor Swift. I don't think I've ever listened to it without crying! Luckily I had sunglasses on in the car and DS was asleep because I had a proper little sob to it today.

Taylor Swift - Bigger than the whole sky followed by Ronan. I've only listened to Ronan once it's absolutely heartbreaking.😭

Ronan makes me sob every time I listen to it 😭 I try to stream it occasionally as Ronan's mum is listed as a cowriter and money from the song goes to the charity she created in Ronan's memory

I Get Along Without You Very Well.
It always brings a tear to my eye.

What I was made for by Billie Eilish

This! Despite the whole messaging in Barbie being you can be whatever you want, the montage is so clearly about motherhood and the generations passing mother to daughter. As I’m childless not by choice it was huge punch in the stomach

Not all men by Morgan St. Jean
Watching a memorial video of Sarah Everard.
It was on one of them "video shorts".

The lyrics stayed with me for a bit purely because I've heard men say the cliché of "but it's not all men"

Dean Lewis, how do i say goodbye

Tisfortired · 25/03/2024 16:50

It was with either Into my Arms by Nick Cave or Just Like Heaven by The Cure. Both get me going for different reasons!

Daughter by Sleeping at Last
If you ever had a teenager going through stuff, it'll become your anthem (mostly listened to when you're alone with your tears/fears in the car, parked in a quiet corner of Tesco carpark just taking a breath).

I'm in my early 50s and a song has never made me cry! I clearly have a heart of stone Grin

Ordinary World by Duran Duran. My sister died in 1995 at just 27yo and it was one of her favourites🙁 It's a beautiful song.

What was I made for, Billie Eilish

Definitely this. Every time I hear it!

Cabbagepatchkid2 · 25/03/2024 17:57

“So Into You” by Atlanta Rhythm Section.

It was the first song someone sent me at the start of our relationship and I’d never had anyone woo me with music in that way before. I’d never heard that particular song before and I loved it. It felt like it had a really loaded meaning for our situation.

It all ended very badly about a month ago and I haven’t been able to listen to music at all in that month. On Sunday I put on our playlist and this came on and I just broke down. I think Ive been in shock and needed a good cry!

HÆLTHEPAIN · 25/03/2024 18:19

Me and himself are going through a bit of rough patch and our wedding song (Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing, Aerosmith) came on in the car which set me off. Then George Michael’s I can’t Make You Love Me a bit later on. In my defence I have a horrible lurgy and my defences are totally down.

Kate Bush - Moments of Pleasure and also This Woman's Work.

Hurt by Johnny Cash. Usually does.

MyLadyTheKingsMother · 25/03/2024 18:36

Billy Talent - Viking death march
Mayday parade - Miserable at best
Les miserables - Do You Hear the People Sing?
Les miserables - I dreamed a dream

Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross. Makes me cry so much that I can’t listen to it when I’m driving

Snozzlemaid · 25/03/2024 18:53

Mumaway · 25/03/2024 14:49

None, ever. It's just a song.
I realise I'm in the minority, but I just don't get it. I don't think I'm a psychopath... My daughter has sung in a festival and a solo concert recently and while it was lovely, it doesn't make me emotional

Me too. Don't think I've ever cried at a song.
My heart is obviously made of stone.

I read that the last song played by the musicians on the Titanic as it was sinking was Abide With Me. Then I listened to it and had a little cry.

I also cry buckets every time I listen to The Mother by Brandi Carlile.

EatCrow · 25/03/2024 19:21

Praying for Time - George Michael. The lyrics are so true and sad.

I got the wrong hymn. It was Nearer My God To Thee, not Abide With Me 😳
