I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, after seeing dd1 out on her way to work. She was starting later but had an email last night asking her to be in by ten, she's picking up a McDonald's breakfast on her way.

We haven't got much planned for the day - me and dd2 are going to watch the Eras Tour movie since we didn't last week, eat popcorn, and decorate sunglasses for our Eras night in June. I want to put up a few more Easter decorations I bought on Friday, and maybe clean the fridge too.

We'll have roast chicken, roast potatoes and some veg for tea & maybe nip to the shop for some sort of dessert for afterwards 😋 I'll probably have a glass or two of wine with mine.

Then it's early showers & prep for the week ahead. And a couple of hours with Murdle or my book, before an early night 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning Lucysmam

Sounds a nice day.

I have a day off today in the middle of a busy few weeks before I am off for a few weeks at Easter.

And, of course, my cold that I've kept at bay while working has decided to step up a gear. Hopefully a day at home pottering and tidying will mean I am fighting fit and ready for the week ahead.

Going to try to engage everyone who is around to do as many jobs in the house as possible so they are done for the week.

Not sure what to have for dinner. Might be freezer surprise 🤣

Hoglet70 · 24/03/2024 09:16

DH encouraged me to drink too much wine last night (is this a LTB situation?!) so I shall be mostly feeling sorry for myself on the settee whilst he makes me coffee and toast to assuage his guilt (and laughs at me a lot as he feels absolutely fine as usual, the b*stard!).

MeinKraft · 24/03/2024 09:23

Not much today. Just chilling with a book this morning, DS is playing his Xbox then he has a birthday party later. Might take DD shopping for a new swimsuit while he's at that. Then make chicken in black bean sauce for dinner. I bought salted black beans off Amazon which makes a really good sauce, need to get them in soaking.

Morning.

We flew over to the UK yesterday for a little holiday, we’re in London at the moment, but we’re travelling over to the forest of dean later to stay with family for a few days.

Depending on how organised we are, we may pop into London first and go to a few museums, we don’t have to leave our hotel until 3pm, so we might get to do it. We do need to go to our old flat and make sure everything is okay, but I’m going to try to do that alone. The kids only left in August, so I don’t know if going back there will make them think we’re coming back, if that makes sense.

Have a lovely sunday all

DinnaeFashYersel · 24/03/2024 09:33

Lying in bed nursing a hangover (too many g&ts last night).

Plan to get up at some point but not yet.

FlorencenotRatchet · 24/03/2024 09:36

Morning @lucysmam and all the weekend posters.
Just finished breakfast l.
Missing my Sunday run but and injured so need to rest for a couple of weeks.
Just finished breakfast and trying to decide what to do today. A toss up between shopping and the cinema or a lazy day at home with a movie, online shopping and reading.

CHEESEY13 · 24/03/2024 09:40

Monitoring a pan with boil-in-the-bag rice and another with purple broccoli and a third with two duck eggs in it.

daffodilandtulip · 24/03/2024 09:45

Morning everyone. Actually got to a thread before midday!

DD had her 18th party here last night and some stayed over so I have just made a billion pancakes and now I'm sitting down with a brew before I tackle the house. Kitchen to clean, recycling to sort, emergency bedding to wash and decorations to take down.

We went to bed about 2am then neighbours had a row in the street at 6am so today will be loooong.

Four more days work til annual leave.

hoonicorn · 24/03/2024 09:46

Good morning all.

I've been up since 7.30 which is a lie in according to my children. On second coffee. Older kids are fed washed and dressed and having some screen time playing PAC Man. Youngest is playing with duplo and it's all over the carpet.

Dh sleeping off a night shift but when he wakes we are going to go out to a NT museum for a few hours.

The sun is shining today so when we are home the kids will likely go round on their bikes or play outside for a bit until dinner. Not sure what dinner will be yet but most likely involving chicken. I will pack a picnic lunch to take out with us.

First load of washing is almost finished and will go out on the line. Later we'll watch the Gladiators final from last night and get organised for the week ahead.

Hope everyone has a fab day!

RabbitsRock · 24/03/2024 09:47

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. Earlier to the party today! In bed, just finishing a cuppa. I’m starting work at 12 so unsure what time to eat. Might have a bacon sandwich as the bacon was so nice yesterday. Popping to see DM & DF after my shift. Nice easy tea of kievs, jacket spuds & peas.

Giggorata · 24/03/2024 09:54

Good morning lucysmam and all.
DH is making tea and I am lazing in bed.
(I was with the coven last night and didn't get in until the early hours)

I have no idea what we are doing today, possibly nothing but a bit of pottering for me and a bit of wood cutting for him.
Brunch will be something eggy as people's hens have started laying again and we have loads, even though the elderly dog gets one every day (as do I)

I have some pictures to hang but want to age the frames a bit first, plus I am modifying an old clock as a photo frame, which needs a bit of work.
I will do this whilst listening to the St John's Passion, which is on the radio this afternoon.

I made chicken curry yesterday for today's dinner, so not much to do there.

Crunchymum · 24/03/2024 10:04

Morning all, after a childfree day yesterday I'm solo today (DP is out with his siblings today as they have relatives over from Oz and wanted an "adult day" after they all met up with the kids yesterday)

Just waiting for food shop to arrive, 2 out of 3 DC bathed. I'll bath little one as she still can't do her own hair, she has long curly hair so it's a two person job!

We'll do lunch and then head out for a mooch. Probably a canal walk and a coffee / hot chocolate at the local nature reserve. I also need to pop into the big Waitrose we pass.... because I love it there!

Have a bolognese all ready to go for dinner so just need to make a salad and pop on the pasta and garlic bread later.

If we can agree on one, we'll watch a film later.

SkiingIsHeaven · 24/03/2024 10:05

I've just walked the dogs on the beach for an hour.

Going to read while listening to the sea for a while and then drive home.

Dinner and bed after that.

I really needed a break and this is just perfect.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 24/03/2024 10:08

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I have two washings done and hung out to take advantage of the sun and breezy conditions. I've also prepared rhubarb for jam and a crumble, then rushed to Aldi for lemons and sugar as I didn't have enough. Shortly dgs2 is being dropped off while dgs1 goes to football. Then when he gets picked up, I'll make the jam and crumble and visit mum in hospital. In between I'll make a slow cooker pot of lentil soup. Gammon steak for dinner. Enjoy your day

Taytocrisps · 24/03/2024 10:16

I've just had my first cuppa and a browse on MN and I'm heading down to the shop shortly, to buy some sausage rolls and bread.

DD stayed over with her grandparents last night, but is due home around lunchtime. We're getting the bus into Dublin 'cos we've tickets to the musical Aladdin. If we've time, we're going to our favourite restaurant for shrimp tacos and fries beforehand.

I've been fairly housebound for the past three weeks, 'cos I had my appendix out. So, I'm looking forward to an afternoon/evening in the city. But I'm expecting to be tired afterwards and maybe a bit sore.

Tiddlywinks63 · 24/03/2024 10:18

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone, DH has left with the dog so it’s peaceful here.
I’m enjoying a coffee with ryvita and peanut butter, sitting in the sunshine in my living room. It’s beginning to cloud over after a gloriously sunny start.
I’ve done the ironing and put it away, made the bed, made a shepherd’s pie for dinner, cleaned the bathroom and loo and tidied the kitchen.
I’ve sort of ground to a halt now 🙄.
I will get on with my crochet blanket later while listening to a podcast.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Justonedayatatime11 · 24/03/2024 10:30

Morning @lucysmam

Still in bed at the minute whilst lovely DH is downstairs making us all breakfast. He's a star.

Another lazy day I think, need to find a way to stop my stupid Maine coons from eating the ceiling around the boiler in the utility room, and should probably bake something... lacking in energy and enthusiasm though.

Roast chicken with chips and salad for tea, early night for DD who is still wiped out from her sleepover on Fri night and then just 3 days of school to get through!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday

Peridot1 · 24/03/2024 10:31

Morning @lucysmam and everyone.

Lazy morning here as usual. Was up around 7. Fed the dog and had a cuppa. Then had another cuppa and some toast.

have put some washing on and am about to empty the dishwasher.

Nothing much else planned. I might cut the edges of the lawn in the back. We have a big garden and DH uses a ride on mower but never does the edges. Also might make a list of what plants I want to get for some pots.

Then I’m just going to read this afternoon. Although I may make a banana bread. And soak fruit for a cold tea brack.

Steak for dinner. And wine.

RabbitsRock · 24/03/2024 10:35

Blimey Tiddlywinks63 that’s good going!

blahblahx · 24/03/2024 10:37

Nothing much planned!

Going for a stroll with my toddler soon while it's nice and sunny outside.

Then come back and do some baking together

fluffycloudalert · 24/03/2024 10:37

I have been freezing my ears off walking round a car boot sale. There's a north wind and I think it is coming straight from the North Pole today.

I may have had to eat a bacon roll to keep warm.

Rowgtfc72 · 24/03/2024 10:40

Morning
We're waiting for dd to come back from her second driving lesson. I say we, but particularly dh as her instructor said she should be fine for lessons with dh in his pride and joy after today.
I got up at stupid o'clock clock for the F1 so just chilling with a cuppa now.

Coastalcreeksider · 24/03/2024 10:56

Just having a coffee before going down to the shed to pot up some plants. Have a bird house to put up on the fence in the hope of getting blue tits back, need to also haul out the big hoover and vacuum the bedroom and downstairs.

Going to cook a pork joint later I've had in the freezer since Christmas so think it's time I got round to having it.

TheChippendenSpook · 24/03/2024 10:59

Good morning 😊

I had a lie in and an about to have another cream tea treat (I'm a bit addicted). I've got a couple of mouth ulcers so I suspect that anbesol will alter the taste slightly, which might cure me!

I'm going to have a lazy day today but will go on the exercise bike later.

Flatleak · 24/03/2024 11:01

Morning everyone - I love these threads as everyone's lives seem so wholesome!

I've a day of pottering ahead.

Currently sat on the sofa with a cup of tea making a to do list. The windows are open and sun is shining.

I'm putting my house on the market with pictures being taken tomorrow so today will be spent cleaning on the whole.

Also going to make a roast chicken for dinner and wondering about a bacon sarnie to start...
