Hey

U am taking my boys 13 and 15 to London on Friday.
They want to do something 'different'. Can anyone suggest anything?

Balloon museum
Automaton museum
Postal museum

Do a hidden city treasure hunt.
Do a walking tour.

Immersive show or experience e.g. Phantom Peak.

The Arceleor Mittal slide is fun. Or a rocket boat on the Thames.

OneMoreTime23 · 23/03/2024 19:01

Balloon museum.

I believe there is a pug cafe somewhere.

Walk over the O2

Whinge · 23/03/2024 19:04

How about a treasure trail. There are lots of options in London.

We walk past so many unusual and interesting locations and this is a great way to explore while also taking acloser look at what's right under our noses. 🙂

I believe there is a pug cafe somewhere.

It's in Hackney but I would not recommend it. I went with my DS, and it's all about social media photos and not the dogs' welfare. They dress them up in silly costumes. A couple of times the dogs snapped at small children (who in my opinion should not be allowed in anyway).

Mudlarking with Thames Explorer Trust (you don’t need a licence if you’re with them.)

Harry potter studio tour

BIWI · 23/03/2024 20:06

The Harry Potter studio isn't in London though! It's in Watford, which is quite some way out of London.

(That's not to say it isn't worth going to - it really is - but it's not 'London')

menopausalmare · 23/03/2024 20:06

Scoot around the parks.
Clipper boat and cable cars.

OnHerSolidFoundations · 23/03/2024 20:07

If they like football Dear England is fantastic!

LollipopViolet · 23/03/2024 20:08

Thames Rockets speedboat trip on the Thames - I loved this when I did it in October! Also second a look round the Leake Street tunnel - I believe they do experiences where you can create your own piece of artwork to add to the ever changing graffiti collection there.

OnHerSolidFoundations · 23/03/2024 20:09

Clipper boat down the thames from London bridge to Greenwich then up throughout Greenwich park to the maritime museum - they have a planetarium that's cool

Araminta1003 · 23/03/2024 20:09

London dungeon

PeanutButter82 · 23/03/2024 20:09

The Moonwalkers at the Lightroom, near Kings Cross would fit the bill - an immersive large screen thing telling the story of the moon landings. Similar, but without a narrative and using art works is Frameless, near Marble Arch.
I've also seen ads for (but not looked into) some kind of War of the Worlds experience so maybe worth googling if it sounds like your thing!

Those Thames speedboat experiences are SO much fun. Definitely worth it!
