So that will hopefully shut people up. Poor Catherine, really hope she’s ok.

I hope that shuts everyone up who has hounded her. She deserves privacy and those who have been clamouring for news and speculating should hopefully now realise how awful their behaviour has been.

The sad thing is I think this will make the press more interested because it will become about who’s got the “newest” update or the next lot of gossip. It’s sad because they can be really dehumanised. People forget she has feelings. I passionately dislike the royal family however I feel so sad of her and her family and hope she recovers

lpylou · 22/03/2024 18:21

So that's why Prince William pulled out of his godfathers funeral, which is what started the speculation.

"It's different when I do it"

Yeah because this thread is all about affairs and divorce and other bullshit unfounded gossip. 🙄

you realise that’s literally what this site is for, right?!

maddiemookins16mum · 22/03/2024 18:22

That poor lass, I actually said out loud ‘oh God no’ when it was announced. I’m not a huge Royalist but don’t mind them but just the thought of what the family must be going through. Poor William, his Mum killed and now his Pa and Wife with cancer. I feel ridiculously upset by it and I’ve never met them.

FFS! Many mothers of young children are diagnosed with cancer each and every single day. Let’s not make Kate a martyr to the cause. Yes, she has cancer, which is awful, but she is in an extremely privileged position of receiving the best of the best health care available.
I wish her well, but I’ll hold the single mother juggling work, finances, childcare and chemotherapy treatment in my thoughts more.

Have some compassion (or keep your nasty thoughts to yourself)

Fallenangelofthenorth · 22/03/2024 18:23

So she said she wanted privacy so the first thing you decided to do was start a thread on mumsnet, the opposite of protecting her privacy? Can't you leave the poor cow alone for 5 minutes?

The poor woman, I hope the press just fuck off now.

The Press?

It’s the rabid idiotic public that drive the conspiracies, the intrusive discussion etc.

HelloMiss · 22/03/2024 18:25

@CormorantStrikesBack no I'll leave that to you...

I hardly think a thread about something which has been on the national news is an invasion of privacy. 🤷‍♀️. However if you disagree feel free not to post on it 😁

Actually no, not everyone will tell their children, especially if the prognosis is good/optimistic.

If you're having chemo it's pretty impossible to hide. My boys were 4 and 7 when I was diagnosed the first time. There's no way we could have hidden the fact I was having chemo so we told them in an age appropriate way.

What the actual fuck........

CormorantStrikesBack · 22/03/2024 18:28

Hope you’re doing ok @Bsmirched both my parents had cancer when I was quite young and i remember what a shock it was. It must be hard as the parent wanting to shield your kids from stuff and worrying about them.

This is so unnecessary

I feel absolutely sick to my stomach that she's had to go on public TV to essentially defend herself. So now her kids have to know too.

People are yuck!

Indeed. Hope the hounders are satisfied with this now.

Funny enough the nasty usernames have all gone quiet …

ThatSongAboutMe · 22/03/2024 18:30

skippy67 · 22/03/2024 18:04

And you choose to comment on it

She wasn’t the one hoping everyone would shut up. It’s quite ironic to want people to shut up about it yet make a thread on it. That doesn’t make any sense.

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 22/03/2024 18:32

Nice to see ITV have managed to get someone to Windsor pretty damn quick!

It’s only just been announced tbf. They’ll probably be back. If they’re the sort of person to go on and on about someone they don’t know, this probably won’t stop them.

PeopleAreWeird · 22/03/2024 18:32

I truly hope all the people that ‘enjoyed’ the conspiracy theory bullshit are ashamed of themselves !!!!

Including alot you!

Calliopespa · 22/03/2024 18:33

Medschoolmum · 22/03/2024 18:10

I hope people will lay off now. The speculation around her health has been disgusting. I'm no monarchist, but people should respect the fact that the royal family are human beings. They deserve their privacy.

Absolutely.

And and yet those of us who said she was clearly just unwell were somehow being blind to all the “ lies” we were being fed.

It was more the shutting up of conspiracy theories and general bullshit I meant. I never thought for one minute that people wouldn’t talk about what’s been announced.
