What drinks do you always have in the house?

At the risk of sounding crackers, I find offering drinks to guests (family aside) really quite stressful! Partly because I don’t drink normal tea (I drink occasional green tea) or coffee so hate making it.

If I am expecting visitors I tend to panic buy drink options. If I have unexpected ones that’s even worse!

What would you say is “normal” to always have in? Not alcoholic drinks, I mean teas, coffee, soft.

DD is having more playdates now so it’s generally mums and kids that I don’t know well and often quite last minute.

Tea - Yorkshire and herbal
Coffee - instant and nepresso
Squash
Fizzy - fancy some fizz once in a while
Wine, gin, Bailey's, vodka
Whiskey - DH's collection, not to be drunk!
Plus dome random other stuff (bought at airports)

Just DH and myself at home, kids have flown the nest!

Tea - we have about 8 different kinds, as I am a tea fan!
Coffee - I don't drink it any more, but dh and dd do, and we have a fancy bean-to-cup machine.
We often have juice in the house, but not always. Only ds drinks it.
We generally don't have any squash or fizzy drinks unless we are having people round, especially if they have kids.
I only drink tea, water, beer, white wine and gin!

Tea and coffee is normal. But I rarely have coffee in my house so often people aren't happy about that! I have herbal tea which I love. It's also a good option if you have guests who avoid dairy.

Several different teas, roiboos, Earl Grey, PG tips, better tea bags and 2-3 varieties of loose tea, peppermint and a herbal tea
Coffee bags or Instant for two friends
DD is a teen so some coke, sprite, San Pellegrino (for me), Appletiser
Fresh apple juice and grape juice we mix with sparkling water
Sometimes some fresh orange juice

In Summer I like Rasberry lemonade and cloudy lemonade.

Never squash, noone here likes it.

I don't drink tea or coffee. We always have both in the house though. Other staples are fruit juice, ( usually orange and pineapple), and some sort of squash. Lots of alcohol and mixers too.

I have more teas than I know what to do with. Lots of flavours, various levels of caffeine, herbal and leaf.

I have ground coffee, both caffeinated and decaf.

I normally offer coffee or tea, and reveal that I have a lot of tea to choose from. Most people choose coffee (this is how I have ended up with so much tea) and I narrow it down to caffeinated or decaf.

mathanxiety · 22/03/2024 17:36

I never have fruit juice, oat milk, almond milk, rice milk, or coffee creamer.

I always have skim milk and half and half (US blend of milk and cream).

I always have fizzy water, usually lime or lemon flavoured.

DD occasionally buys herself a Coke.

mathanxiety · 22/03/2024 17:39

Alcohol - various kinds of beer, vodka, gin, whiskey x 2, rum, brandy, sherry, white and red wines (4 bottles total), prosecco.
