I feel that picture 5 should be a story I know all about and remember, and that not doing so says something about how much less news I get via print media in recent - centuries, decades, years - don't want to give too much away!

I've googled it now - know the story, wouldn't have recognised the deeply unprepossessing arrestee.

There have been photos where the year has been blanked out. Seen this on calendars, banners, footballs and handwritten on the photos.

It's always such a gift though, when a date sneaks in. I'm still convinced that the woman at the hairdresser yesterday was misdated - they do slip up sometimes.

There's a series of classic images of 4 US presidents (Carter, Ford, Nixon, Reagan) when they got together before flying out to Anwar Sadat's funeral, and Chronophoto had a date about three years out for it. Maddening- (not one I've seen in their daily pick, but I've come across it a few times when I was playing random games).
