I just ate

2 slices of toast with peanut butter, a cheese pretzel and a marks and Spencer lemon muffin. WTF is wrong with me?
I mean I was super hungry, like weak and shaky hungry but honestly I would have been good if I'd stopped at the toast.
The thing is I don't even feel bad about it really. I just can't quite believe it 😬

You've not inhaled a feast for 25 people. You had a larger-than-normal lunch, when you were hungry. You'll live, OP 🙄

Itsrainingten · 20/03/2024 16:39

Ha! It wasn't lunch. I ate that earlier. It also wasn't dinner. It was just a massive snack

That really doesn't sound that bad, certainly nothing to write about (literally) 😂

Wishimaywishimight · 20/03/2024 16:43

It's really not that bad OP! What did you have for lunch? What's the plan for dinner?

I'm not judging at all, I'm just bored and nosy!

teacrumpetsandcake · 20/03/2024 16:43

I hear you OP. I sometimes feel like I've overindulged if I eat like that for a snack (doesn't happen too often, luckily!) But as long as you are not doing this between meals every day, it's nothing to worry about really. You were hungry and you ate - that's OK.

DarkDarkTimeOfLife · 20/03/2024 16:43

I just ate 100g of cooking chocolate 🤷🏼‍♀️

ImOddsAndEnds · 20/03/2024 16:43

Eh?? I'm slim and this is a normal amount of food for me in one sitting Confused

Topjoe19 · 20/03/2024 16:44

That sounds like an excellent snack. Those lemon muffins are so good.

teacrumpetsandcake · 20/03/2024 16:45

Also though - just to add to my previous post - if this does happen a lot and it bothers you, I'm wondering why you are getting to the point that you are weak and shaking before you eat?

If you let yourself that hungry then you are more likely to overindulge.

Itsrainingten · 20/03/2024 16:45

I had an egg mayo sandwich, a packet of hula hoops and a very disappointing KitKat bunny (I thought it was a Maltesers bunny 😭) for lunch. Will probably have grilled sea bass, sweet potato wedges and broccoli for dinner.
And yes I'm bored (and surprised!) too. Which is why I posted.

Hypoglycaemia.

Makes you binge carbs.

The phrase is "nothing to write home about."

Axx · 20/03/2024 16:46

Sounds good to me OP

Itsrainingten · 20/03/2024 16:47

@teacrumpetsandcake I don't usually let myself get that hungry really. I had a big heavy bag and a long walk from work to pick up the kids from school and it was hot. Lesson learnt. Will keep a banana in my work bag for the walk tomorrow

Fannyfiggs · 20/03/2024 16:47

Oh no, you'll have the competitive eaters here giving it all 'I just had half a grape and I'm soooo full. I don't normally snack like that' 😉

But seriously OP, that sounds like a normal amount of food if you're hungry. Also sounds bloody delicious.

Itsrainingten · 20/03/2024 16:47

Cooling chocolate @DarkDarkTimeOfLife 😂

Itsrainingten · 20/03/2024 16:51

Anyone else ever been caught out by the evil KitKat bunnies? They even stick them in a little red packet to make you THINK you're buying the delicious Maltesers one. I reckon I owed myself the lemon muffin to make up for that disappointment

It's not good, is it @Itsrainingten

Do you routinely indulge in UPF, refined carbs and sugar?

I found The Sugar Solution by Dr Mark Hyman very informative and useful:

pambeesleyhalpert · 20/03/2024 16:51

I just had a Pret tuna baguette as a snack 🫣

FinallyHere · 20/03/2024 16:52

It may be different for different people, I only ever get this kind of 'shaky hungry' as a come down from carb overload. Fewer starchy carbs and more fat in my diet keeps my blood sugar levels much more stable.

It's a lot easier to regulate my food intake when my blood sugar is stable.

If it doesn't happen often and you're generally healthy - nothing to worry about - enjoy your snacks! :)

Itsrainingten · 20/03/2024 16:53

@FinallyHere you might be right about that. I don't usually have chocolate at lunchtime. That could be where the problem started from. Evil evil bunny.

Yes. But not that much.

It's a vicious circle. If I eat protein and fat, I can last forever. If I eat carbs and sugar I'm ravenous all the time.

SirenSays · 20/03/2024 16:56

Did you have an very early lunch? I haven't eaten yet and I'm not shaky, is that normal for you?
