Sainsbury’s online orders cancelled due to technical issues, no warning, anyone else?

First world problems I know… but did anyone have issues with their Sainsbury’s online order not being delivered yesterday?

Mine was expected in morning, DM’s who lives 10 mins away also expected in morning. Didn’t turn up and DM’s friend who’s visiting her today rang and told her she’d been on the phone for an hour to sainsburys and they had technical difficulties and were cancelling orders but no one had told us!

Re-deliveries rescheduled for today but we weren’t happy especially as no one told us.

So do this happen to anyone else? At the end of the day not the end of the world and we both went to Waitrose as we were meeting for clothes shopping anyway.

I popped into our local branch last night and there were Covid level gaps everywhere, particularly fruit and veg.

There was a really posh tall man on the shop floor moving those big things around and smiling politely at me, clearly an upstairs manager (they never appear any more) so things were clearly amiss.

It may be connected to the software upgrade they did on Friday night which went wrong so their card payments were failing.

The upgrades seem often to not marry up with the payment software.

I wonder why they wouldn't do a huge upgrade on a Monday night when the impact of a big fail would have far less impact.

I wouldn’t want to be working in a Greggs today.
