Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

lucysmam · 17/03/2024 09:25

I've just made my first cuppa of the day & am thinking about getting breakfast - probably cereal since no-one else is up.

We haven't got much planned for the day. House needs a tidy round, there are a million pots to wash up, and a load of washing up to be done so I'll get on with those shortly. I'm going to make a chicken and leek pie for tea too, probably chuck the last of the mushrooms in as well 😋

The only thing we did want to do is watch the Eras Tour movie & make some bracelets to trade at our concert. Dd1 half volunteered to go to Lidl for snacks but it's raining so I think she'll change her mind.

Dd2 needs to finish tidying her room too - she started yesterday but has dumped a lot of stuff to finish off today 🙄 I'll see if she wants some help but she said no yesterday 🤷‍♀️

Tonight I'll read the last of my book, and maybe start the new one in my series. Dd2 has been watching 911 so will probably watch more of that. And dd1 will most likely find herself sat with me to do the homework she keeps saying she's getting to starting but hasn't looked at 🤷‍♀️

Then early nights all round ready for the coming week 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Laying on the sofa and doing some cross stitch while drinking gallons of coffee.

Hoglet70 · 17/03/2024 09:32

Another one on the sofa all day but with a book. Will have to move at some point to walk the dog but that's it.

ShipshapeShore · 17/03/2024 09:33

General house stuff and DD has a friend coming over. I hope they're quiet because DH is on nights!
I'm going to try and do something I want to do today as I feel like I'm on a constant hamster wheel of work, washing, cooking, cleaning, driving the DC around and endless endless tidying. Some days all I ever seem to do is pick things up off the floor and it's really getting to me. Sorry for the moan!
Is it raining everywhere?! If not and you're going out for the day, have a lovely time! (Also have a lovely time if you are going out in the rain) 😊

Doing a cooked breakfast.

Heading off to watch the parade, possibly head up the ceili

Home for bacon and cabbage dinner

mamaduckbone · 17/03/2024 09:35

We were all up and dressed early for rugby but it's been cancelled due to waterlogged pitches...again...so currently drinking tea on the sofa deciding what to do with a free day!

FunkyMonks · 17/03/2024 09:37

I'm full up with a stinking cold, I've also got to clean through the house today.
Both my DCs are slowly getting over their colds and one is on antibiotics 🙈 been a stressful couple of days so hoping this week is better.

Penguinsa · 17/03/2024 09:39

We went to RHS Wisley yesterday and bought some plants after going round, absolutely beautiful there with trees in blossom and once it stops raining, around 2pm here we will plant them in the garden. Also have cut the wild rose down before but have to chop it up further to put in green bin.

Then we have a special collection for 9 sacks tomorrow largely as DD has been sorting her room after mock A levels / uni applications etc and has made 5 sacks and we can add 4.

Other than that may have Sunday lunch though had a Toby carvery last night so might have something different instead and may go swimming if have time and energy.

Taking more stuff to dds new place, that should be the last of it.
She moved out a couple of days ago with her boyfriend who's been living here for almost a year. Kinda quiet and once I've finished getting my place how I want it and having a spare room I won't know what to do!

TheChippendenSpook · 17/03/2024 09:42

Sounds like a lovely day 😊

I'm supposed to be sleeping as I'm working later but the church bells have woken me up. I do live church bells but this lot is honestly just noise and it goes on for forty minutes.

I'll get up shortly and do 45 mins on my exercise bike I think, then relax before work.

rubyslipperss · 17/03/2024 09:44

Full of cold but got something on later so lazy day in bed until I have to get up . Hopefully DD1 on FaceTime & breakfast with DD2 . Then lazy evening . Not me walking dog today thankfully - pouring with rain here .

thesugarbumfairy · 17/03/2024 09:46

Stuck some sourdough in the breadmaker yesterday so had toast for brekkie.
Feeling mildy sorry for youngest who was camping last night on D of E and is now trekking in the rain. I have to go collect him at 3.30pm.
Until then i shall sew (prep for lesson on Weds - I teach bagmaking) , do a quickish trip to Morrisons. Clean the kitchen. Sew some more.

HotChocWine · 17/03/2024 09:47

I'm at work

It does mean that DH will do all the house stuff and cook the dinner

JMAngel1 · 17/03/2024 09:49

Lovely lie in until 8am - DH brought me tea in bed and I read my book listening to Spring Classical music.
Then helped DD1 get things together for a day at a waterpark with her friends - she was so excited. Luckily DH dropped her off.
Just done a lovely clean of open plan slace downstairs and lit candles and incense cones so it's all cosy. On sofa with a cappucino now.
About to do a pamoer session then take DD2 out to B&Q for paint as she wants her desk painting. We'll pop to Costa whilst out as she's feeling upset that DD1 is going to have so much fun today.
Then 4 loads of laundry to put away and want to make a start on priming the desk.
Dinner will be a sausage and bean casserole I think - either that or lemon chicken. Not in mood for full on roast today.
Then uniforms to lay out the ususal Sunday night routine.
Have a lovely day everyone.

RabbitsRock · 17/03/2024 09:49

Good morning lucysmam & everyone. Still in bed - I made a cuppa for me & DH earlier but got distracted in the kitchen so it was lukewarm when I came to drink it. Will make a fresh one after I get dressed. DD15 is having a GF crisis. I didn’t get to bed till 12.45 & felt upset as DD was taking out her anger on me. It’s a pretty toxic relationship. DH & I will heave a huge sigh of relief when they break up. DD definitely deserves so much better.
Several loads of washing to do & the kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it! Also need to do an Asda shop then prepare veg for tea which is chicken breasts with sage, roast potatoes, broccoli & carrots. I might go for a short walk with a friend at some point but haven’t really noticed what the weather’s doing. Decluttering job for today is sorting out all the carrier bags which have been dumped in front of our wardrobe & possibly dusting our bedroom. Will see how it goes.

MissMarplesNiece · 17/03/2024 09:51

I've just eaten croissants and jam for breakfast and am now trying to motivate myself to tidy up the kitchen. It's my turn to cook lunch - I'm going to make stuffed pancakes.

I've been slowly trying to clear out the spare room so later this afternoon I'll try and do a bit more of that.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 17/03/2024 09:52

Tea and sourdough toast with peanut butter and marmite. Meeting friend for lunch out then date with man I’m seeing probably dinner at a pub later. It’ll be packed due to St Patrick’s day.

Need to be back by 6pm as sainsburys order which was cancelled yesterday being delivered then.

lucysmam · 17/03/2024 09:53

Ooh @JMAngel1 lemon chicken sounds tasty! Any particular recipe?

Morning all!

Just done the Stagecoach drop off and come home to a nice quiet house so will get on with the post-holiday laundry I ignored yesterday.

Also feeling very ✨ domestic ✨so may attempt a lasagne and cottage pie to throw in the fridge for later this week. Sandwiches for lunch and going out for dinner I think.

@lucysmam you’re making me very worried I haven’t prepped at all for the Eras Tour 😂 I think I have an idea for a dress but it’s quite pricy (read : extortionate and unachievable) so I need to shop around for a dupe, may do some online research later 👀

FortunataTagnips · 17/03/2024 09:58

Morning! DP is delivering DD to her Sunday club and I’m still on the sofa,
drinking coffee.
I need to put another load of laundry on and then have a shower.

Hoping my dad will come round for lunch - I should probably invite
him! - in which case we’ll have chicken cacciatore with pasta and apple and cinnamon cake and ice
cream for pud, once DD is back from her club. She takes a packed
lunch but always wants “proper” lunch when she gets home 😁.

No plans for this evening other than coordinating diaries and getting ready for the hurly burly of the week ahead.

It's this one - it's a lovely lemony creamy chicken soup with orzo and spinach. Really comforting but quite light to eat.

Avgolemono Soup (Greek Lemon Chicken Soup) with Orzo

Avgolemono soup (Greek lemon chicken soup) with orzo and spinach is as quick and easy as it is nourishing and comforting. Don't miss it.

I had a lovely lie in while BF got up with the baby. I was feeling rough last night so he told me to sleep.
Now I'm on the sofa while he makes us sausage sandwiches 🥰

soupfiend · 17/03/2024 10:14

Making an oxtail stew
Buying a carrot (1)
Buying some esomeprazole (ran out, cant put a repeat prescription in time)

Tiddlywinks63 · 17/03/2024 10:18

Good morning @lucysmam and followers, it was pouring down when I got up but the sun’s trying to come out now.
DH has taken the dog for a walk, I’ve changed the bed, put the second load of washing on, prepped vegetables for dinner, unpacked a Waitrose grocery delivery and sorted out a few bits in my craft room (the smallest bedroom that I’ve taken over).
Not feeling too bright, sore guts for some reason (I have IBS and DH is pissing me off at the moment) so doing as little as possible today!

Devilshands · 17/03/2024 10:18

Morning all!

Started my morning with 90 minute walk in the pouring rain (dogs - starting to wish I'd had cats instead).

Now a latte, eggs Benedict and catching up on an episode of Death in Paradise. Then another walk (hopefully not in the rain) later followed by popping over to my parents to have chicken shawarma for dinner.

It's an exciting life here...

@JMAngel1 that soup looks delicious and I have all the ingredients either in my freezer or fridge! Dinner for tomorrow has been decided
