Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I've been up a while, just finishing my first cuppa now & thinking about moving to make a coffee. The girls were planning a lazy day so I'm not expecting to see much of them this morning. Lovely 😊 this is my favourite part of weekend mornings. Even better when the sun's shining & window wide open so I can hear the neighbour's kids playing out & birds in the trees.

The washer's half way through washing dd2's uniform & there are a few pots to do that I'll probably sort while the kettle boils. Then a quick tidy round & clean of the bathrooms and kitchen floor at some point.

I'm off to the outlet today, via big Asda to hopefully replace a storage jar I broke the other day. I don't really need anything, just fancy a wander for a couple of hours & want to have a look at the Easter eggs in B&M. The one in town didn't have much in the way of big eggs so hopefully they'll have more.

Dd1 said last night she might have a wander into town for a McFlurry before coming back to do homework. And dd2 is planning to sort out her messy bedroom/do her homework. I offered to help with the room but she gave me a funny look, so maybe not 🤷‍♀️

Not sure what's for tea yet - maybe something with salad, we've had chips a few nights this week & I fancy a change 🤔

Later it'll be an early ish one for me, as usual, after some time spent on my Eras Tour outfit. I'm making more tassels for my jacket & have made 10/20 so far. I don't think it'll need more than that.

What about all of you? 🙂

Sitting having an instant coffee and vaping on MN. Hair cut booked for 10.30 and then I hope to get out and do some gardening and get the chimnea going.
Perhaps an afternoon nap before that.

lucysmam · 16/03/2024 08:44

@BubblePerm I do like an afternoon nap!

Morning!

It’s lovely and sunny here too, which makes everything infinitely more cheerful.
I had a day off work yesterday and started a deep clean, so will be cracking on with that, after my weekly coffee and catch up with my pal.
I've just started week 2 of couch to 5k, so need to do a session, I’m not a natural runner and I’m unfit but it’s not been too bad so far.
i must get Easter eggs sorted! Thanks for the reminder @lucysmam

Enjoy your weekend!!

Morning
I'm drinking coffee and having a sausage sandwich.
Got my granddaughter for a couple of hours, so we are going to the park and then to feed the birds.

frozendaisy · 16/03/2024 08:52

Been up a while, just getting dad and youngster ready to leave for football. Coffee helps, actually it's essential.

School shirts washing.

Will make eldest come butcher for tomorrow's roast dinner meat whilst the others are chasing a ball around!

Went to theatre past two evenings (just coincidence with dates both visiting shows we don't just go to the theatre all the time) so chilled evening tonight.

Have to go and get some goalkeeping gloves later and have a fight with the bank about a cheque, such fun!

H has a new mulcher machine that he isn't allowed to use until the kids can "help", protective clothing and goggles all round, so they might do that this afternoon if it stays sunny.

Home made pizza this evening because we didn't have time yesterday and they feel 'short changed'

And after completing Inspector Calls, i have to now read Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, although I might suggest we concentrate on the language part of English this weekend. Wrong season for a Christmas Carol but we need to catch up before it all becomes too much. I will have difficulty not singing the Muppet songs in my head throughout! Guess that's a common problem 😄

Justonedayatatime11 · 16/03/2024 08:55

Morning @lucysmam!

Still lazing in bed at the minute but will have to get up and sorted soon as want to go into the city. Need to buy DH a birthday card for Monday and really fancy some retail therapy.

We're out for dinner early this evening somewhere lovely and then home in time for Casualty hopefully. Old before my time maybe but I'm past wanting to be out late drinking now

Whiskyfromsmallglasses · 16/03/2024 08:58

Hi well my ds 12 had a bad scooter accident on Wednesday. Knocked his 3 front teeth out, huge egg, no skin left on one side of his face basically so we have had two very quiet days at home. A&e gave him the all clear for broken bones and brain injuries ( luckily he was wearing a helmet ) dentist can't start work on his teeth for a few weeks until the swelling and bruising go down but there's going to be a few very lengthy appointments coming up. My heart just breaks for him 😢

I'm going to get food shopping this morning then I will see if he fancies the cinema this afternoon. Gets him out for a bit but nothing to adventurous. He's still sleeping at the moment. Tea will be soft and blendable cause he is on a soft diet for 6 weeks now

Decafflatteplease · 16/03/2024 08:59

Morning @lucysmam I missed last weekend thread as we were busy so glad to have found this one today!

I'm in my usual spot on the couch with tea and blanket and MN and my book.

It's a beautiful sunny morning here, debating getting the washing on the line but it says rain later 🤔

This afternoon we are off into town to spend world book day vouchers.

Will pick up something in town for dinner.

Have a lovely Saturday all!

ilovebagpuss · 16/03/2024 09:03

Morning!
Up at 6.30 struggling with a vile cold this week.
Heating has broken so waiting in for the engineer.
DD's don't fancy any outings so may just be a home day. Need to find some food inspiration as I am not feeling up to much but it has been a quick tea type of week and I want to do something nicer.
Might go and get the lovely butchers pies and have those with mash and greens.
DH has gone for a run and it's nice and quiet. Just downing a lemsip urgh.
Your Eras Tour jacket sounds amazing @lucysmam.
I need to think Easter eggs too thanks for reminding me.

flapjackfun · 16/03/2024 09:08

Good morning.
l’m on call all day so not many plans. I’m just lazing in bed snuggling my husband while the kids are upstairs being quiet and avoiding tidying their rooms. If I don’t get called out then I’m working on my university essays due in next week.

Husband is planning to take the kids out this afternoon to get haircuts and some bits for one kids birthday. Uniforms need sorting out today because we have a busy day tomorrow and I don’t want to be rushing to get them done.

Whataweirdsituation · 16/03/2024 09:10

Good morning @lucysmam !

Rare day of doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING here. Normally I get very itchy feet at the weekend but we came back from a Butlins break last night and I’m shattered!

Just had a Deliveroo of bread/milk etc to avoid leaving the house - the ultimate indulgence round here 😂 Now brought all the sandwich ingredients to the coffee table and am assembling breakfast from the sofa - goal is to move from here as little as possible today. Luckily DS concurs! Never been more glad to have cleaned the house pre-holiday.

Will be watching varied crap comedy on TV and playing on my phone. Might place a Tesco order, scroll vinted for summer kids clothes, and catch up on work emails - though that all sounds like far too much right now so we’ll see how we go 😅

Peridot1 · 16/03/2024 09:12

Good morning @lucysmam and all.

I have been away the last few weeks so missed your threads.

@Whiskyfromsmallglasses your poor DS! That sounds really scary.

I have been up for a while. On third cuppa and have had toast. Dog is driving me bonkers constantly whining for treats. DH has just appeared so she has decided to follow him into the study. Hope she stays quiet for a while now!

Today’s plans are doing some laundry - even though I didn’t bring much washing home everything was packed so tight it’s all creased so needs freshening so I don’t have to iron it all. Also need to put yesterday’s laundry away.

Nice and sunny here so we are planning on planting out two rhubarb plants our neighbour gave us and also some potatoes. Then DH is planning on watching rugby and I need to nip to the shop. Dinner is chicken Kiev with chips, salad and coleslaw.

Sunnnybunny72 · 16/03/2024 09:15

Just sat at Manchester airport having a coffee and waiting for a flight to Gran Canaria. The skies are blue and clear, it's beautiful.
Feeling very spring like.

WhatWouldHopperDo · 16/03/2024 09:18

Not much planned. It’s a gorgeous day here so the priority will be a nice long dog walk. I desperately need the exercise and sunlight!

DH is on nights so won’t be awake until about 3. DCs are both out most of the day either working or seeing friends.

I think it will be a mix of light chores and reading.

I can’t muster up the enthusiasm to think about dinner so we’ll see.

Plump82 · 16/03/2024 09:20

I'm in Lanzarote where they are currently going through their first heatwave. I'm on the terrace with a cup of tea and a pain au raisin. It's scorching so need to get the SPF on!!

NotOverYouOcelot · 16/03/2024 09:24

The house is so messy I have no idea where to even start. So I thought I'd eat two doughnuts whilst I think it over. It's honestly the worst it's ever been. DD8 and ds7 unlikely to help. I've invited a friend over tonight so I'll have to clean it by then.

JMAngel1 · 16/03/2024 09:26

Morning all
Been up since 6.30am (eek) as had to leave at 7.45 for DD2s football match - brutal!
Soent most of that time Molly coddling her out of bed/nutella crumpets (her favourite), chivvying her into kit as she was very very grumpy!! So I’m out of the house with none of my usual lovely morning rituals/comforts. E,g. No bubble bath/microneedling/clean kitchen and bathroom. Feel very out of sorts and wish football could be closer and a more reasonable kick off time!!

When we get back, I’ll drop DD1 off at gym then head home to do the house jobs I didn’t do this morning.
Then off to visit my Dad and take Dads to the hairdresser. Somehow at the ages of 14 and 12, this will be their first proper wash, cut and style at a hairdressers - apparently they have had a neglected childhood 😂
They both have long hair so I usually just trim it in the bathroom but I’m treating them to the full experience - just hope they don’t get used to it as it will cost me a fortune!!
Then home to pizza and a film. No wine - not drank now for 4 weeks and feeling so much better for it.
Everyone have a lovely day - @lucysmam you’ve reminded me about Easter Eggs - thank you!

JMAngel1 · 16/03/2024 09:27

That was take DDs to the hairdresser!!

Crunchymum · 16/03/2024 09:27

I'm desperately trying to get DC well as they go on a residential on Monday.

Came down with a cough on Thursday and this has triggered her asthma 😫 so I'm doing everything in my power to get her well. She's currently eating popcorn and drinking Lucozade so I think she'll be alright 🤞

Other two DC are going to the NHM with daddy and he's meeting friends and their DC, so at least we won't all miss what looks like a decent day.

Today will be washing, ironing, batch cooking and mopping the floors for me (if I can be arsed) and R&R for poorly child. I may sneak in a nap and I'll be having a Nandos bought home for me later!!

lucysmam · 16/03/2024 09:28

@NotOverYouOcelot if mine feels like that I start in the kitchen & do one worktop at a time, clearing & tidying stuff back to where it belongs then anti-bac spray. No idea why but tidy kitchen makes me feel calmer about the rest of the mess.

Giggorata · 16/03/2024 09:28

Good morning lucysmam and all,
We are just off for a day out in York, followed by dinner and a concert in the evening.
Someone is coming to see to the dogs and await a delivery while we are out.
I am very pleased it's sunny today.

TobiasForgesContactLense · 16/03/2024 09:31

Hi @lucysmam and everyone. I am taking DS to his swimming lesson as usual and then picking up my new car. So excited but a bit nervous to drive a different car after 11 years!

Need to take DS for a haircut this afternoon and get some photos printed for my mum's room at the nursing home she has just moved into.

DS is upset there is no Gladiators this evening due to football on TV so will treat us to a takeaway.

@Whiskyfromsmallglasses I hope your DS recovers quickly and the dentist appointments are not too painful for him.

MrsMurphyIWish · 16/03/2024 09:37

Taking DS to football training, DH managed to move DD’s game to an earlier start so we can all race to (hopefully) watch Wolves beat Coventry for a place in the FA cup semi’s!

Simonjt · 16/03/2024 09:37

Good morning, its very dull ane cloudy here today.

Our son is getting his first hair cut today, although he has been a bit more quiet about it the last few days, so lets see if he actually has it done. He has a birthday party after that at a karting place, so we’ll then go somewhere toddler friendly with the little one.

We’re going to watch the rest of the new young royals episode tonight, I think the last one airs monday.
