Is anyone else as daft as me?

Got new windows fitted today. Really excited as our old ones were awful and we've been saving up for ages. Got home after work tonight and excitedly went to look at them. And for some inexplicable reason poked my finger through the still wet caulk round the edge 😭 So the perfect shiny new windows are tainted now with a big bloody mark in the caulk. They're coming back tomorrow and I'm planning on saying my toddler did it (because what adult is that stupid??) and asking them nicely if they can add a bit more and smooth it over.

Anyone else done anything daft recently?

I cannot pass a succulent without petting it, which often results in a nasty stab on my hand which sometimes bleeds.

I did exactly the same thing with the caulk in an internal window. Finger print there to this day.

Oh OP, there was a brilliant thread here years ago. A woman had a new floor poured and smoothed out, and then she slipped and landed on it and tried to smooth it out with a cake decorating tool or something. It was funny!
Also a thread from a woman who had a new patio laid and was told not to walk on it and they’d be back the next day but she thought it would be OK so she walked all over it and it ended up wobbly. She had to admit it and ask them to sort it.

DH decided to fit a new key safe next to the front door which had been replaced hours earlier. The silicone on our door has an attractive brick dust hue to it.

I did exactly this when I was maybe 14. I made sure there was a vase in front of it for years. When mum noticed years later I denied all knowledge. She still brings it up determined to find the culprit. I can’t admit it now because I honestly think she’d take the price of the windows out my inheritance.

🤣🤣🤣 so funny. Anyway toddler successfully blamed this morning and the nice man is going to sort it out today phew.
