Welcome to the MN Unofficial Oscar’s Fashion Awards 2024!

Following on from a BAFTA fashion thread on Style and Beauty we thought it might be fun to hold a vote for the best dressed of the night.

This thread welcomes all talk fashion however when you are ready to “vote” for the best dressed, please for the purposes of my sanity clearly state:

Using sophisticated technology my abacus, I will tally up the votes and announce the winners at lunchtime tomorrow (Monday). If you list more than one person then I will count the first name you give only.

Of course, if no one participates then I will be holding a pity-party in my living room. All welcome, there will be Karaoke.

Eva Longoria looks incredible. Black hourglass off shoulder dress and a simple diamond necklace.

Sorry, but I don't like any of them. If I had to choose one, then the pink fairy looking one about 10 from the bottom. The one with a long train

Does anyone know why Roger Federa is at the Oscars?

General observation that a lot of the looks are so DULL. And I'm not sure who quite a few of these people are. Should the Oscars not be A Listers dressed... cinematically?!

My favourite is Cynthia Eviro, but thats mainly the colour. America Ferrera is nice enough.

I'm disappointed in Ryan Gosling. He has looked incredible all awards season and this is just a bit samey samey from before.

Cynthia Erivo looks as though she has come as a green dinosaur (miaow)

My vote for best dressed goes to Justine Triet for looking cool.

Most of the women look as though they haven’t eaten lunch for months (miaow!!)

Disappointed in Emma Stone. I have a massive girl crush on her (even though I am a straight women) and thought the peplum was very 10 years ago.

Welcome to the thread created as promised.

I have to say I am a bit disappointed in tonight's looks. So far there is very little leaping out...and I don't know who the majority of these people are any more. I must be getting old.

Lupita Nyong'o looks great in the pale blue dress

Yes she's does. That colour is great on her. I had no idea that peplums appear to be a 'thing' again.

This dress was very reminiscent of her dress from 2014. The colour is lovely on her.

Zendaya looks fantastic (as always).

Ariana Grande looks like a vagina.

Florence Pugh looks like she needs a good wash. As I have said on a previous thread, she has all the ingredients to own the red carpet but seems to deliberately chose to look like she got dressed in the dark.

Carey Mulligan's dress fits like a glove.

Yes it really does. Impeccable. The scallop detailing is really lovely and she looks great.

It's just a shame there is so much black on the red carpet this year. I mean...it's March, it's spring! Lighten up a little.

Emily Blunt's dress looks like it has the outline of a pair of men's y front pants embroidered on it.

The shoulder straps are too high as well!

Yes, what is with the weird raised shoulder straps? Florence Pugh has them too!

The Y Fronts embellishment looks ridiculous. Is she wearing it for a dare?

I didn't notice Florence's shoulder straps until you pointed it out!

They look like grab handles!

The dress is weirder the more I look at it. She looked so lovely at the BAFTAS, she should have worn that dress to the Oscars.

My vote for best dressed is America Ferrera. It is bright, fun and she looks radiant.

Zendaya comes a close second with honourable mentions to Eva Longoria and then Kim Kardashian at the Vanity Fair after party.

Worst dressed for me is Emily Blunt I'm afraid. Florence Pugh comes a close second. They are both beautiful women, I just don't understand these choices.

Eva Longoria looks stunning, and gets my best dressed vote.
America Ferreira’s dress suits her perfectly, she looks lovely.
I liked Michelle Yeoh’s dress at first until I saw the top part, with the obvious branding on what looks like a bit of bra showing.

I disliked Emily Ratajkowski’s after party dress, the usual overt attention seeking.

Emily Blunt has redeemed herself at the Vanity Fair after party and looks pretty in pink.

Florence Pugh on the other hand has decided to get the nips out again.

Emily blunts dress is so odd. She usually always tops the list for me. Wonder why she chose something so weird.
