Are you Sam's mum or Sam? Your Mother's Day flowers from Bloom & Wild are at my house by mistake!

If you are Sam's mum and wondering where your Bloom & Wild flowers are, or you are Sam and wondering why your mum hasn't received her flowers, they are in limbo in a vase at my house, via an incorrect name & address label, the Royal Mail, a 'while you were out' card, and my green recycling bin.

Sorry, I had to open the box to find the card.

The card inside says 'sending hugs' and message begins, 'Some flowers for mother's day since you're a great mum ...', and ends '... lots of love Sam x'.

Meanwhile I'm trying to tell B&W on their website that they've mistakenly stuck a label on the box with my name and address on, and and these flowers should not have come to me, but they don't seem to have an option for that one.

I hope you can give your mum a call instead and B&W sort you out with some replacement flowers. Looks like they will ask for the order number. Flowers

I’m Sam’s mum but I bet it wasn’t him 🤦‍♀️😂

2dogsandabudgie · 10/03/2024 14:25

Have you tried putting a message on local Facebook group?

Funnily enough, DiL had a look at it and said, 'a bloke's written that!'

My Sam would have written “yo my g, some flowers for you bro” .

I’ll have them though, I did bring up Sam so I deserve them 😂

I'm not on Facebook, @2dogsandabudgie, but I could try the 'Next Door' app. Although if B&W have accidentally slapped the wrong label on it, couldn't it have been for anyone in the UK?

(My own DC did send me flowers btw from B&W, and they arrived OK. I checked that they didn't let a 'Sam' access their account.)

Have you got some local Facebook groups you can post this in in case the flowers were meant for someone local?

I hope you weren't too disappointed they weren't for you.

Cute!
So has Sam put the wrong address? Does he not know where his mum lives?

I wonder what type of bouquet he'd choose. Gladioli?

This looks like just the kind of message my Sam would write. Though I'd be surprised if he knew B&W exist...

What part of the country roughly, OP?

My name and address were both on the label. So Sam thinks I'm his mum. (Or her mum.) Or B&W thinks I'm Sam's mum.

I'm really not. I've got two of my own.

Are they gladioli? If so, yeah, definitely mine 😉

Hampshire area.

It would be nice if he had discovered B&W - has he got a housemate / partner who might inspire him to indulge in the postal flower-box art of mother-pleasing?

Toblerone45 · 10/03/2024 14:42

My Sam is not a Hampshire Sam, so sadly I must take my skin out of the game.

SamsMumsFlowersRescue · 10/03/2024 14:44

Ah bless you, no I'm fine. And this is the weird thing - there was a box for me too, same type of bouquet, nice card inside from my actual DC. So I'm really chuffed with that, as I wasn't expecting it.

Sam's mum though - probably not so chuffed.

Do you know anyone called Sam? Like a friend/relative? They may just think that you're a great mum even if you're not actually their mum, and wanted to recognise that fact.

Nope, I really don't. And I've checked with the DC and they can't think of anyone either.

Bit of a mystery.

I suppose I want the real Sam's mum to know she wasn't forgotten. There are a few threads on MN today with some women on them feeling very under-appreciated and sad. I know it's a bit of a daft imported day for many, but it's a shame that Sam made an effort and Sam's mum won't know about it until they speak.

I think Sam isn't a DD, but he might possibly not even be a son, it does read a little bit like a slightly over ingratiating new boyfriend or ex sent to a mother of a toddler.

Alas not the right part of the country, OP. I'll keep hoping he'll rock up this afternoon and make me a cuppa...

Yeah. I can picture Sam's mum being pissed off/upset/resigned that dc hasn't given her a thought. And Sam being equally miffed that mum hasn't called to say thank you when this year he's actually made an effort.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 10/03/2024 15:04

I'm Sam's Mum. Does the word "innit" appear on the card at all?

JaneJeffer · 10/03/2024 15:05

I think Sam is busy playing rugby
