I’ve put the dishwasher on and made my bed. Put some clothes in the washing machine ready to wash later. That’s it! I’m really bored so if I was in the mood I could get a few more things done but I have no inclination at the moment. What have you done so far today?

Is this a generation thing, where people substitute the word hoover for vacuuming. Back in the 70s, I did actually have a Hoover make, but everyone said vacuum cleaner.

Spooky, almost the same, except ironing, I dont iron anything. We are having chicken rogan josh. What's your curry?

Butter chicken 😋 can’t wait

Mama_bear · 09/03/2024 14:14

Vacuumed everywhere
Mopped kitchen floor
One load of laundry
Grocery shopping
Off to do more fun things

roarrfeckingroar · 09/03/2024 14:30

Made my bed
Made my toddler's bed
Aired the house
Made me and kids breakfast and cleaned up
See also lunch
Sorted lots of dry laundry and put away
Put a load on
Took kids to rugby tots and the park (not a chore per se)

Rugby with a glass of wine in a bit:

Dh did a couple loads of washing this morning before I got up, other than cooking there is not much else to do today.

OldMrsHempstock · 09/03/2024 14:50

1 load of laundry washed and hung. Dishwasher unloaded and reloaded.
Kitchen sides and table wiped down.
Later I will cook a curry and DH will sort the kitchen afterwards.
DH has just hoovered the car out and is currently repotting a few plants.

That's everything that needs doing, we have a cleaner on Fridays who also does our ironing so there isn't too much to do at weekends.

Soowoo · 09/03/2024 14:53

Started tidying up/clearing the garage. First time it’s been done in about ten years!

UnhealthyCopingStrategies · 09/03/2024 14:55

Empty dishwasher and load breakfast things
2 loads of washing after stripping one of the beds
Few bits to pick up in town
Made cottage pie meat - about to go put the potatoes on to finish off ready for the oven
hoovered up and downstairs, sweep and steam mop kitchen, dust downstairs furniture
Still have the shopping to click and collect and pack away sob

devildeepbluesea · 09/03/2024 14:56

I’ve literally just sat down and I’m bloody knackered:

Walked dogs
Got DD up and out for Eisteddfod (arrival 8.10am)
Ninja Tesco dash
Drive DD to rehearsals
1hr weights workout (should be tomorrow but I am NOT doing it tomorrow)
Another dog walk
Showered, made bed
Washed up & put dishes away
Bunged chicken in marinade

SwordToFlamethrower · 09/03/2024 15:16

Made the bed, hoovered and mopped. Made a plowmans salad lunch.

EmpressSoleil · 09/03/2024 15:20

Absolutely nothing! Woke up at 8. Had a couple of coffees in bed while going online. Then had a nap! Got up at about 1 and piddled about online again, sitting on the sofa. I may try and do a couple of things for an hour or so now. Here alone so no obligations!

Allwelcone · 09/03/2024 15:28

Made a huge cake
3 washes
Bit of shopping
Sorted cutlery drawer - amazingly achievement
Still to do:
Hang and sort washes
Hoover living room
Ice cake
Make pizza dough

mommybear1 · 09/03/2024 15:33

Stripped and remade the beds (x3)
Sorted and started the mounting washing pile 3 loads done so far
Dishwasher unloaded and reloaded
Dinner prepped for tonight
Wiped down the kitchen surfaces
Vacuumed our stupidly thick pile rug which takes an age
Popped to get shopping for my DF
Vacuumed Dad's downstairs
Cleaned Dad's fridge and freezer and restocked it for him
Not sure it counts but also sat with DS6 finishing his homework and reading - he finds it a chore so I'm counting it 😂
Just popped some 🍻 in the fridge for myself for later 😬

mindutopia · 09/03/2024 15:33

I’m having a It’s Mother’s Day weekend and I just want to be left to it to mooch about the house and do things I want to do. Usually Dh is like we must all DO SOMETHING because it’s the weekend and he goes a bit mad being at home all day, but won’t just go bloody do something without trucking us all along when everyone just wants to chill. 🙄

So today he’s left me to it. I fed the chickens and got some eggs, did some gardening, watering of seedlings, then I dug through freezer to find a soup from last summer for lunch, now making my favourite curry for dinner, while Dh and dc and dog go for a walk to pick me some wild garlic I need. Later need to go muck out animals unless I stall long enough and give Dh the ‘but it’s Mother’s Day’ look and he just goes and does it.

Now about to sit down and do some reading and relax with a coffee.

DontWasteMyTime · 09/03/2024 15:36

Put clean washing away.
Emptied dishwasher.
Fed the garden birds, and squirrels.
Took rubbish out.
Vacuumed through downstairs rooms.
Chopped veg and meat, put it all in the slow-cooker to make a casserole.
That's it for today.

UpsideLeft · 09/03/2024 15:37

Washing, unloaded then reloaded dishwasher, cooking, should hoover but I hate doing the stairs hurts my back, cleaned bathroom and kitchen tops as I went along.

So much I should do but can't be arsed

UpsideLeft · 09/03/2024 15:38

I did change all the bedding last night

UpsideLeft · 09/03/2024 15:38

Took rubbish out etc

mondaytosunday · 09/03/2024 15:39

Dishwasher... ummmm... I'm sure I can think of something.... nope that's it! I am working now though!

LBOCS2 · 09/03/2024 15:41

Tidied up the kitchen after DH's family were over last night and evidently he went to bed without clearing up (I had given up and gone to bed earlier)
Put up a lampshade and a shoe rack that have been hanging around for about a month.
Bought the things I need to box in under the stairs but need DH at home to actually do it as I'm under strict instructions not to lift heavy things and there are heavy things in the way.
Weeded (a very small section of) the garden
Pruned my climbing rose
Fed everyone lunch which involved making three separate meals (felt like a massive chore).

In a little while I'll stick a load of laundry on and do the dishwasher. Our cleaners came on Thursday so the house actually looks reasonably presentable at the moment.

Beezknees · 09/03/2024 15:44

None. Went out for breakfast with a friend, mooched around the city centre for a bit, now having a glass of prosecco and watching telly. DS will be home soon (stayed at a friend's last night) and I'll do a pasta bake for tea and wash the dishes but that's it!

I really try to do everything in the week so that I can relax at the weekend. No young kids or pets means the place stays relatively clean and just needs a wipe down/hoover.

Stressybetty · 09/03/2024 15:49

Moving house so packing up, panicking about how much stuff we have. Went to collect rental van from getting flat tyre changed (whole other saga). Returned to find camper van parked outside the house in the space we had blocked off with our bins. Went to find owner to ask them to move for a few hours while we loaded. Owner miserable bitch but agreed to get her DH to come home and move it. Still waiting. V pissed off.

Helfs · 09/03/2024 15:50

None!

Benefits of having a cleaner regularly and a husband who does the day to day Grin

yorkshireteapot9 · 09/03/2024 15:50

Fed dog
Brushed dog
Walked dog 1hr
Washed dishes
Made some calorie free sprout stuffed marrowbones to freeze for dog
Put beef in slow cooker for later
Put a wash on
Quickly tidied car
Bought bread and milk
Picked family up from airport
Walked dog again
Fed dog again
Made 2 x more veg stuffed marrowbones

Thought I'd done nothing before I wrote this!

ElectricMagpie · 09/03/2024 15:56

Gotta broadcast this - TMI warning though as this is the most disgusting chore I've ever done.
So we bought a dishwasher for our first house 8 years ago, having previously rented for years. The other day I noticed it wasn't cleaning dishes as well as normal, so after some YouTube research I detached the filter and washed it up. So far so good right? Nope, found this morning that there's another panel under the filter which I lifted out this morning. Eight years of muck and grease lodged beneath it in a carpet of black muck! Had to rake it out with kitchen roll and rinse the panel. A gruesome task but the dishwasher is now sparky clean :D
I'll probably do the same thing next Spring..?
