Give me a racing heart?

Every time. Doesn’t matter what brand. Don’t get it with anything else. Its perplexing.

Is your heart rate already quite fast and then it goes quicher?

That is a most eggcellent response! 😂🙌🏻

I love the idea of needing a lie-down after a slice of quiche 😂

Croissants aren't pastry though.

Well yes they are

Deathraystare · 07/03/2024 19:21

Dunno but I had a sinking heart lunchtime because the quiche I had cooked last night and put in the fridge for work today, well, I know I took it out the fridge but where is it now? Not in my bag that is for sure!!

Dammit!

LightSwerve · 07/03/2024 19:30

Quicheit · 07/03/2024 14:29

Pastry is fine. I love a croissant regularly and no issues. Eggs sometimes make me feel a bit nauseous but I like them and no heart racing

I am guessing a sensitivity but it’s so damn specific to quiche!!

Croissant is a different recipe to shortcrust.

It will have different additives.

Do you eat other commercial savoury shortcrust products without problem?

And what variety of quiche?

Everyone looks at @Quicheit 👀👀

I get the same with pizza. I assume it's the overload of fat and salt.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 07/03/2024 20:20

Bumblebeeinatree · 07/03/2024 14:46

Preservatives in the quiche to increase shelf life? Read the ingredients carefully for additives, my DH can get asthma attacks from various ready prepared things usually turns out to be preservatives.

I'm the same. I had to go through the cupboards and chuck out everything with sulphites in.

mrsbyers · 07/03/2024 16:11

Well yes they are

Croissants are a rich dough bread, make with yeast. In my book that makes them a bread not a pastry - I don't know of any pastry that uses yeast.

This is hands down the best question I have ever been asked.

You should also check your response to a custard tart.

And maybe a curd tart ?

Snoozymoozy · 07/03/2024 23:06

I get this with junk food such as mcdonalds.
I think it's the fat and salt content.

PickAChew · 07/03/2024 23:13

Is it all quiche or just the various ones with bacon or ham in?

Deathraystare · 08/03/2024 09:46

@LilacLemur
It is ok! I found it in the fridge when I got home. I must have looked at it and thought I must put it in my bag, then didn't. I was worried it was hanging around somewhere. Had it for breakfast this morning!

So don't hang @Quicheit !!!

Favouritefruits · 08/03/2024 09:49

buttery pastry, cheese, bacon… not the healthiest of meals I think most would have a raving heart after those ingredients

Quicheit · 08/03/2024 12:06

@PickAChewall of them it seems!
