Mosaic Portrait - Experian Consumer Information Portal (experianmarketingservices.digital)

Over 150 different segments. Apparently I live in a budget generation area.
So many to choose from.
They then sell this data to marketing companies to do what they want with it.

Cafes and Catchments- spot on I think !

Devilshands · 07/03/2024 05:49

Satellite settlers! Definitely right. I’m the youngest on my road by about forty years! Love it tbh.

Simonjt · 07/03/2024 05:54

I put our last UK address in, Penthouse Chic apparently 🤣

“Flatlet seniors” which are apparently ageing singles with basic income renting small flats.

Except we and all are immediate neighbours are in our late 30’s-mid 40”s living in owned 3-4 bed houses.

I'm also Flatlet Seniors. Unlike you, though, I am a Flatlet Senior living on a development of HA retirement flats. It's all this postcode is; they couldn't get it wrong!

I used to work with MOSAIC data. I really like it - it's more fully-featured and intuitive than other demographic models. Many pockets of the UK change really fast, though, so it can't keep up with them in real time.

noideabutstilltrying · 07/03/2024 06:12

Wealthy landowners 🙄

lljkk · 07/03/2024 06:18

24yo DS owns a house; the description is spot on for the guy he bought the house from. Completely wrong about DS, though.

Mine was mostly accurate but said village when we are actually town.

The marketing stuff thru letterbox seems to assume we are retired: we are not. The neighbours each side of me are retired tbf. Both me & a neighbour are selling & expect young families to buy our homes, so I guess Experian will change its mind after that.

MyLadyTheKingsMother · 07/03/2024 06:24

'affordable fringe'

Better than 'Shithole' which is what I was expecting lol

ArghhWhatNext · 07/03/2024 06:26

Diamond Days. Loads of it is accurate but we’re all supposed to be retired and I think only 30% of my neighbourhood actually are.
it’s a really interesting tool, but scary, the picture that data paints- and who has access to the data.

Artichokepiglet · 07/03/2024 06:27

Apparently I'm a 'Legacy Elder' who lives in a four bed home and goes on cruises. Haaa. I wish I could afford a fourth bedroom/cruise.

UnimaginableWindBird · 07/03/2024 06:42

Earners and learners, which is fairly accurate although my street has more council housing for single, mostly elderly people than it does student houses. The area is a genuine mix which I love.

LaChienneDesFromages · 07/03/2024 06:45

That’s so interesting and a bit addictive.

We got Contemporary Starters. Which makes sense as we share our tiny postcode with just two semis and six smart new builds.

MIL got World Class Wealth. I’ll tell her she can stop reusing wrapping paper.

DP’s got Classic Grandparents which they totally are 🙂

ErnestCelendine · 07/03/2024 06:48

Family Ties - I'd say it's accurate for my street but not really for me.

Neurodiversitydoctor · 07/03/2024 06:51

Thriving independents ! not really but the demographic stuff is about right.

Elefant1 · 07/03/2024 07:03

Outlying seniors- pensions living in inexpensive housing in out of the way locations.
Doesn't describe me but is probably fairly accurate for the area, there are a lot of pensioners here and those of us that aren't are mostly mid forties and older. Very few children and younger adults.
Going to check my old postcode from childhood now, it was quite working class when I was growing up but has a lot of London commuters now.

EasterMummie · 07/03/2024 07:07

Anyone else constantly get 'not a valid postcode'?

NotFastButFurious · 07/03/2024 07:07

Uptown elite. I reckon it’s fairly accurate apart from the housing type of mortgaged terrace and 5+ bedrooms because our postcode is all 1-3 bedroom flats and it should be buses not trains.

Oblomov24 · 07/03/2024 07:08

Mine was odd, renting social housing, low qualifications.

NotFastButFurious · 07/03/2024 07:08

You need to use capital letters

Desecratedcoconut · 07/03/2024 07:10

Modern parents, apparently. High income, low charity donations and 5+ holidays. (I'm witing this as my neighbours get in a taxi to go on their next holiday). I think we must be bringing the average down quite significantly.

Minikievs · 07/03/2024 07:12

Dependable me : single homeowners in a traditional 3 bed semi
As a newly single woman contemplating middle age, I find that so depressing 😩
But bang on!

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 07/03/2024 07:13

Alpha Families 😂😂 other than the ridiculous title the description isn’t too far off and the age range right. The lifestyle and holidays was very wrong, if only I could have 3-4 holidays a year. Haven’t been on one proper holiday for a couple of years now.

Anotherdayanothernight · 07/03/2024 07:14

World class wealth... I wish 😅

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 07/03/2024 07:15

Mine is very wrong. satellite settlers apparently. Mature households owning 4 bedroom detached homes.

I actually live in a former pit village full of 2 and 3 bed terraced miners houses.

We all jet off on 5 star holidays too according to the summary. I mean I can check work all my neighbours but I don't think so........

Oh and we shop at Waitrose. We don't even have a Waitrose! It must be at least 20 miles to a Waitrose.

aramox1 · 07/03/2024 07:16

Uptown elite! My neighbours live on benefits in HA flats. There's a real range though, clearly we aren't living up to the top end of the street

Curlewwoohoo · 07/03/2024 07:17

Mine is first rung futures... Young owners settling into affordable homes in established suburbs. Into gaming and 5 holidays a year! I wish...

We're a bit old for it! This our second house and we don't know if we'll ever be able to 'upgrade' due to mortgage payments.
