It has been years since I watched it, so I may be misremembering it, but Summer Heights High.

I'll just leave this here.

My 13 year old loves Yes Minister and we all love ghosts. Tried the American version but it's just not the same.

Anyone seen Yonderland? I'm considering buying the first series but it's not on a channel we have. Is it worth it?

@ThanksItHasPockets
I like Yonderland but it is very different to Ghosts. The humour is much more surreal and it’s very silly, but the puppets are brilliant.

Thanks for your reply
@ThanksItHasPockets I will see if I can download episode one to see!

The misogyny of the Inbetweeners is more of an issue to me than the swearing / general vulgarity. When you are an adult it’s obvious what losers they are and this is where most of the comedy comes from but when they are older than the viewer that element is missing.

Very true. As an adult viewer, it's plain as day that Jay is a really desperately pathetic Walter Mitty-type character; but I'm sure a lot of younger viewers would take his bravado at face value and, if not admire him, at least sympathise with him.

That said, I recall that there was a famous comedy character - I forget which one, maybe a Harry Enfield or Paul Whitehouse creation (might have been Loadsamoney?) - who was clearly meant to be an unpleasant object of pity and ridicule; but whoever the creator of the character was said in an interview that, to their alarm, people - including adults - genuinely admired and aspired to be like the character, who was thus soon after quickly retired.

I love Gavin and Stacey but it does start out with two couples having a one night stand together in a shared hotel room. We've found a few (Friends is another) where the first episode or two are a bit more adult than most of the others.

Outnumbered, Blackadder, possibly The Good Life.

I watched the inbetweeners when it came out, I was 13. And we definitely knew he was a desperate and pathetic, well they mainly all were tbh. That was the joke to us. Possibly different for boys though.
