I seriously had no idea that Rochdale is in Gaza

Really? So if anyone else was being threatened and attacked would you go up to them and tell them to stop being hard done by because there are worse things going on in the world? Do you go on mumsnet threads where people talk about going through abuse and chastise them for complaining because the people in Gaza have it worse?

And are you telling me that the Jewish people who feel threatened are dealing with genocide and watching their children die in front of them from malnutrition? Of course they have every right to feel threatened but it's not comparable whatsoever, how anyone can think it is is beyond me

But this isn’t about “ Who is suffering most?” . People all across the globe are suffering terribly. This thread is about George Galloway. His divisive rhetoric is going to inflame tensions in this country. Jewish people are in a minority here and therefore it is understandable that they feel threatened.
Let’s just agree that it must be worse to be .. living in Gaza, Somalia. Etc But we have more responsibility and influence over what happens here so let’s make sure we don’t allow divisive rhetoric here.

I would have voted for the mechanic, he said a lot of stuff about Rochdale like wanting to re-open a maternity service. He came second so clearly some people looked at him and then the dictator worshipping cat man and went with the mechanic. People voted for Galloway because they liked what he was saying.

What is happening in Gaza is appalling and I haven't seen anyone on this thread say otherwise. Some people (I'm one) are very, very concerned about that tragic situation being used as an excuse for anti Semitic attacks on British Jews, who have as much control over the Netanyahu government as they do over France, Italy, Iran, where ever, ie none.

As for Galloway, he's the same self serving, devious publicity merchant he's always been and if the people who voted for him think that he cares about them, they are very much mistaken.

Well, exactly. How presumptuous to assume all Muslims only care about specific issues. They care about local issues, education, health, policing, libraries and leisure facilities and all the other services that help communities to thrive.

I'm going to be very blunt and say that Jewish people know, with over 2000 years of history as proof, that unchecked anti Semitism can end up with things equally as bad as the situation in Gaza happening, most recently within living memory.

Report in the Daily Mirror today about how 1 in 5 people in the U.K. are anti Muslim. You get in some more people like Galloway and that figure goes up.

I've already stated my opinion that yes Jewish people are entitled to be scared, im not saying theyre not, if I was feeling threatened for whatever reason it'd be pretty horrible but nope still not comparable to what the people of Gaza are going through, seriously what don't you get about that?

My point is that if your response to Jewish people talking about antisemitism is simply to tell them that other people have it worse then that's fucked up.

I said the people of Gaza had it worse, which is true, they are dealing with genocide, malnutrition, losing whole family members etc, the Jewish people in the UK are not dealing with any of this are they, neither are the Muslims, Catholics etc, if you think that's anti- semitic in any way then thats fucked up
