My point is that if your response to Jewish people talking about antisemitism is simply to tell them that other people have it worse then that's fucked up.
I agree. It’s also part of a bigger blind spot of some on the Left. Generally they’re all about the importance of lived experience, intersectionality, how minorities identify and experience the UK, etc. Unless the person talking is Jewish - in which case it’s okay to play down their experiences and fears, ignore them, tell them others have it worse etc.
And then they act like it’s some weird trump card to say that yes but their experience is nothing compared to those in - drumroll please - Gaza. Well of course it isn’t, my six year old could tell you that. Doesn’t mean antisemitism isn’t a significant and growing problem though.
