Help- where could this smell possibly be coming from ???

This morning I noticed a funny smell in my kitchen , I thought maybe it was the drain, or something turned

I have a clean house, very tidy and kept clean

I have checked everywhere I can possibly think of! But I cannot figure out where this horrid smell is coming from ?!?!

It smells like rotten milk/ baby sick , i thought maybe my daughter had spilt milk/ cereal but I have checked everyyhing and everywhere, cupboards in the kitchen, the washing machine, dishwasher , drains, boiler, fridge, frezer EVERYWHERE!

I can even now smell it when I walk into the house, I've been on my hands and knees looking under everything , pulling everything out, going around smelling everything!! I have checked all thebrools in the house , sofa , toy boxes etc And I still have no idea and am unable to pinpoint where this awful stench is coming from 😭😭

I am now concerned I'm going to come across something awful!! Although I've literally no idea where !!!

We had a grim smell in our kitchen. I re washed all the pans from the cupboards…long story short,husband found a live rat living under the cupboard 🤦‍♀️🤢It had squeezed in through a 2inch gap and had been eating the dog biscuits from dog bowl . It had also dragged a small blanket from the dog bed in through the gap !!!

That’s a little bit cute. I can imagine him making himself all warm and comfy covered in the blanket and eating dog biscuits 😆

I'm thinking and hoping it's the drip tray, but my husband has looked and I'm unsure where this is located 😭 don't know if I'm being completely thick . The fridge / cupboard was built before we moved in so we've no idea !!

When we had exactly this problem it was a blocked drip tray on the fridge. It was located behind the fridge and low down. Smell was rotten milk. A weird mix of fetid and sweet.

This is it.

We had this about 4 weeks ago. Absolutely horrendous. In built fridge, so the drip tray was very difficult to get to - but once removed - it was definitely that

We've fished out we are going to have to take the whole kitchen unit apart to get to the back of the fridge!

Husband is adamant it isn't this , until him I posted this and 99% of people have suggested this 🤣🤣

Looks like this is what we will spend our weekend trying to do!

It was at the back of the fridge at the bottom - but outside of the actual fridge IYSWIM - required my adult son to tip the fridge forward 45 degrees after unscrewing lots of things.

@leafybrew yes I thought this may be the case 🤦‍♀️ going to have to get my dad to come and hell DH unscrewing and moving everything to get to the back!

Check on your neighbours. Sorry but this happened to my mum, the drains were shared and her next door neighbour had unfortunately passed away for quite a while without anyone realising. She spent the whole time getting her drains investigated 😞

Can anyone else smell it?

I've had something up my nose that was really gross. I'd smelt something funny a bit like a rotten mouse but no one else smelt it. I'd cleaned everything twice.
Eventually I realised it was in my nose.
I've had sinus operation some time before and have occasionally used a neti pot so I got that out and washed through a few times. After a couple of goes a good blow of my nose got something out. It stunk. Oh my god it was the most absolutely vile smell in the world. much worse out in the open. I put it in a sealed container and put it in the bin. I was gagging at the smell. It was awful.

No idea what it was but it was so rank. I do wonder if i'd not neti'd it out what would have happened.

After some serious nasal douching I finally parted with what appeared to be a small putrid kidney - rotting to high hell. The most vile thing known to humankind. I could upload a picture, but I’ll spare you all.

Small putrid kidney! YES! I too took a photo but it'll be on an old phone. Oh it was absolutely disgusting!
