Would you be hungry

thedendrochronologist · 28/02/2024 17:36

Would you be hungry if this is what you ate today:

7.30 2 weetabix and milk

12.30 small wholemeal roll with ham mayo and mustard, small low fat yoghurt, small apple and clementine

16.30 two crackers with blue cheese

I'm starving and it's two hours until tea?

I'm so really hungry or just craving food?

If you don't eat until nearly 8pm I'd eke out lunch till around 2pm.

Geebray · 28/02/2024 17:53

Ha ha ha, I reckon @wubwubwub is employed by Big Carb 😂

ImNotThereAmI · 28/02/2024 17:53

wubwubwub · 28/02/2024 17:47

Oh yes, all carbs... Definitely zero protein to be found in the milk, the cheese, the yoghurt, the ham or the mayo ...

I mean carbs in each meal. They doesn’t work for me at all, just kicks off more cravings

AlisonDonut · 28/02/2024 17:55

I wouldn't be able to type, as I'd have gnawed my hands off by now.

thedendrochronologist · 28/02/2024 17:56

Thanks everyone!

Eating 7.30 as sports tonight.

Eating little as on a diet as 4 stone to lose. Aware it's not much but trying tomworlnojt what works for me best.

I'm glad it's a consensus but I've had a bit of protein each meal.

I really did wonder if I was being greedy. I'm seriously struggling to lose weight and calorie counting /deficit seems to work

I've had 750ml apple squash and 3 cups of coffee

I'm off to eat a boiled egg!

I would be starving! We don't usually eat until 8.30 or 9, so I would definitely need a snack by now. And I couldn't manage eating the food you've mentioned - it's all incredibly healthy and boring, with nothing tasty!

Oh, ok.

MyLadyTheKingsMother · 28/02/2024 17:57

I have had

60g branflakes
Medium banana
Skimmed milk

Cup of tea

Some fruit salad

Two wholemeal toast
Two large poached eggs
Half a tin of tomatoes

And I'm about to tuck into a big bowl of turkey chilli with rice and a wrap.

Incase anyone cares lol

Oh and a can of sugar free apple tango

MumMumMumMumMumMumMum · 28/02/2024 17:57

Yes I'd be hungry. But I am greedy. Today was cereals for breakfast, left over tuna pasta bake for lunch, tea was pie with sweet potato mash and spring greens. Snacks were lumps of cheese (cos you know, I love cheese) and I snacked on some potato omelette whilst cooking tea. Just because I could. 🤣🤣

NotFastButFurious · 28/02/2024 17:57

It’s a very carb heavy diet if you’re trying to loose weight. And if you’ve only had 750ml of water you’re probably thirsty as well as hungry.

How much do you currently weigh and what’s your goal weight?

FinallyFeb · 28/02/2024 17:57

I find omelettes/Spanish omelettes really filling, is that an option for you at lunchtime?

I lost weight recently as I had a nasty virus and couldn’t finish meals and certainly didn’t want to snack! Think it’s gone back on now!

Rickrolypoly · 28/02/2024 17:59

ah would ye stop- it's really not carb heavy at all. And also- nothing wrong with carbs..even if you are trying to lose weight/

ShillyShallySherbet · 28/02/2024 17:39

Your mistake is waiting two hours for your tea, why are you eating so late? I have had a similar amount to eat today and have just eaten my main meal and won’t eat again until breakfast tomorrow. I would be snacking now on rubbish if I wasn’t eating until 8pm.

If you've already had tea I'd say you eat really early.

We never have tea until 8pmish.

But then I don't eat breakfast and have lunch around 1ish

If I ate dinner at 5.30 (or even at 6.30) I would have to eat again around 9.30/10 otherwise I'd be starving! Eating around 8-9pm is best for me.

I’d be hungry because that’s all carbs. Eating protein or even nothing is better for me. Eating carbs gets my blood sugar up and then just constantly craving food all day

Same here.

If I start the day with carbs, I literally eat all day.

If I eat nothing until later or protein stuff, I don't really feel constantly hungry or the urge to snack.

Misthios · 28/02/2024 18:01

Come and chat over on the weight loss forum. Lots of information and support. Personally, what works for me is not so much calorie counting, but intermittent fasting. So no breakfast at all but more food at lunch (oats usually with fruit) and a normal tea.

If you're starving hungry then you WILL fall off the wagon, I have been there and got the t-shirt.

I also have a lot of weight to lose.

Low calorie, high volume foods op.

Eggs
Shit loads of salad
Chicken
Mountains of veg
Jacket spuds
Wholegrain everything (bread, pasta, rice ect)

Do not starve yourself, or it's doomed to failure. I'm trying my best this time to get it off and keep it off so I'm also exercising daily.

HelpMeGetThrough · 28/02/2024 18:02

No, I wouldn't be, I'm not a competitive under eater, I just can't be arsed with food.

I've had a couple of biscuits since tea last night. I'll have tea tonight at about 8:15pm, as my OH is out and won't be back till then.

I just don't get hungry.

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 28/02/2024 18:03

Yes I would be hungry and not just because I'm greedy! Particularly because there's not much fibre- you need some vegetables/pulses.

Actually I was on WW last year. Had porridge with water rather than milk. Low fat yogurt etc. Yes I did lose weight at one point and some others but I’ve also lost weight through not being so extreme recently.

thedendrochronologist · 28/02/2024 18:04

Just wanted a consensus!!

Yes it carb heavy but busy day and blah. Husband whipped up two scrambled eggs on a skinny bagel and walked the dog - I had another hour in bed. He's so bloody slim too - he's to sports. I bailed.

Im a teacher and get 30 minutes for lunch a a predetermined yet variable time so think whipping up an omelette or cracking out the lunch box at 2pm would be frowned upon.

I'll head over to weight loss chat for meal ideas thanks all.

I'm here again losing the same 2 stone again! BORING!

Yes so much harder at 46 than 38 and 27!

FinallyFeb · 28/02/2024 18:05

I lost nearly three stone from last July to November eating the following. I was 54 then.

home made smoothie with four types of fruit and high protein yoghurt

either a massive salad with any protein or eggs with tomatoes/mushrooms/peppers or salad.

eggs if I hadn’t had them for lunch or eg. Fish and veg, meatballs, sauce, lots of veg.

Revelatio · 28/02/2024 18:06

I don’t eat until 2030-2130, I just can’t get my head around eating dinner before 1800! Mostly because that’s when I finish work!

I have two cups of coffee between 0630 and 0700 and then try not to eat until lunch. I find that I don’t get as starving then, especially if I have a late lunch. Sometimes I’ll have a bit of the toddler’s apple and cheese snack around 1830 if I do get cravings!!

Sorry, I’ve just seen you’re a teacher - that obviously won’t work for you!!
