Rishi and his wife trying to come across as "normal people". If you can bear the cringe level! See also the comments on the video.

He is impressively bad at these sorts of things.

Does anyone know what is talents actually are?

TokyoSushi · 05/03/2024 13:28

Argh, that video is hideous! They are so wooden and just odd!

I do think it's going to be May, I run a polling station on election days and we've been set up and assigned already which is quite unusual!

DuncinToffee · 05/03/2024 13:38

I got distracted by all the hand gesturing, what was that all about.

But was that before or after Rishi's inspirational speech on Friday. Surely the polls will show a bounce after such an uplifting performance.

DuncinToffee · 05/03/2024 13:45

28/29 Feb, so before the inspirational speech.

You are right, we should expect to see a significant bounce in the next poll, Sunak says he has turned a corner, again Smile

IClaudine · 05/03/2024 13:50

I am starting to think again that it might be May too. The speech on Friday, the cringe-y video. Why bother with all that now, if the election is going to be in autumn?

BIossomtoes · 05/03/2024 13:53

I’m sticking firmly to 2 May.

Its almost as though Sunak is on a staircase that has corners every few steps and he keeps going down and down, round more and more corners, ever lowering himself.

Alexandra2001 · 05/03/2024 14:09

I think May, as Sunak said it would be in the latter part of the year & he is a liar.

I'm going to hold you to that @BIossomtoes Smile

LittleBowSheep · 05/03/2024 16:03

@TokyoSushi, that's interesting. I take it you mean for something other than the local elections on 2nd May?

Notonthestairs · 05/03/2024 16:05

BIossomtoes · 05/03/2024 13:57

I wish Frances Ryan was an MP. I also hope Rachel Reeves has read this and taken note.

Agree on both counts.

TokyoSushi · 05/03/2024 16:17

We're only booked to do locals at the moment on 2nd May, but the arrangements do seem to be particularly organised in advance... (more than normal)

Cheguevarahamster · 05/03/2024 16:23

I am so hoping for a May election. @TokyoSushi but could it be the change in ID that is making them particularly organised?

BIossomtoes · 05/03/2024 16:27

We all are. It’s the hope that kills you.

Cheguevarahamster · 05/03/2024 16:33

@BIossomtoes I know. I keep clutching for the meerest whiff of confirmation. Ive been saying its going to be May for ages but the nearer it gets...

I am planning a great election night party 😀

For those of us that drink, there won't be many non sober non Tory voters come GE night! I have a bottle of champagne that I am saving.

Piggywaspushed · 05/03/2024 16:43

Just watched the video. He makes himself sound like a fusser at best,a control freak to be kind or, at worst domineering and controlling.

TokyoSushi · 05/03/2024 16:47

I don't think it's the ID because we did that in the neighbouring borough last year, I'm going May!

IClaudine · 05/03/2024 16:49

pointythings · 05/03/2024 16:49

I'll be taking the day after off. And because I am a lightweight, I won't have anything to drink until the first Tory seat falls, but even so it's going to be a good night.

Notonthestairs · 05/03/2024 16:54

IClaudine · 05/03/2024 16:49

R/w Cons are huge fans of emergency legislation & banning things. It's like a veneer of governing but without actually doing anything positive.

May Justin Timberlake GIF by *NSYNC

I have Friday off so I am (smugly) alright. Last election I was so pissed off I cleaned all my windows..

Piggywaspushed · 05/03/2024 17:04

I'm grumbling in the background about having to teach the next day....
