I'm waiting on a delivery of the same machine. I wonder if you open the filter at the bottom and let the water out, will the door then open?
PLEASE UNPLUG FROM THE SOCKET FIRST !!!

You will need a lot of towels to soak up the water.

Mrsjayy · 26/02/2024 18:27

have you tried putting it on a spin ?

Curlygirl06 · 26/02/2024 18:28

It won't unlock if there's water in the drum so put it on spin to get the water out if it still works.
If not, as above, undo the black screw thing on the bottom right, the water will come out but be aware there'll be a lot so get loads of towels etc ready.

Shiveringinthecountry · 26/02/2024 18:29

I don't know whether this works but Google came up with this.

StaySpicy · 26/02/2024 18:29

You ideally need to drain the water first. Google the machine for details to see if you can do this on your machine.

A way to open the door is to use strong twine, tuck it in between the door seal and the machine and pull hard in the direction the door opens. BUT! I don't know what will happen with the water inside and you do this at your own risk!!

Dacadactyl · 26/02/2024 18:30

@Curlygirl06 id do what she said OP.

But if the spin cycle doesn't get any water out at all I'd be reluctant to undo the black thing on bottom right cos it'll be a pure flood.

Google for YouTube videos on how to do it.

Mrsjayy · 26/02/2024 18:30

loads of videos on you tube "how to" put in your make and model and you should get something.

Puzzlefactor · 26/02/2024 18:31

You can drain it by using the drain hose at the back. Unhook it from the waste pipe and make sure it's lower than the machine door. Drain it into a bucket. Less messy than draining by the filter.

Topofthemountain · 26/02/2024 18:32

I presume the drain setting hasn't worked, is there any lights coming on at al

Mummyofthewildones · 26/02/2024 18:32

You might need to drain the water out before it will unlock. Have you tried unscrewing that filter? Have lots of towels handy!

Mrsjayy · 26/02/2024 18:33

I wouldn't open the filter until you get some of the water out if you are renting you might flood the kitchen and damage the floor and that's something else you have to worry about.

Puzzlefactor · 26/02/2024 18:34

The filter might be blocked anyway, I'd try draining with the drain hose before I flooded the kitchen by opening the filter.

MigGirl · 26/02/2024 18:35

You need to drain it first before it will unlock. Google how to for your machine, but I reckon its the black bit on the bottom right of the machine.

Have bowls and towels ready to catch the water, there is often more then you think in there. If your lucky like mine its a little flexible tube you can put into a reasonable size bowl to drain it.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 26/02/2024 18:36

The person removing the washing machine will be able to free your clothing.

Have lots of towels, spare bedlinen and anything else you could possibly use to soak up any spillage ready for when they come.

Dorsetlover · 26/02/2024 18:36

You need to manually drain the water. Google this. There will be a plastic hose that you can put in a bucket at the front of the machine which will take the majority of the water out. To get the last of it use a mug or the like - something that is below the hose level to fully drain it. It's not hard honestly. There will be a video.

Once the water is out the door will open. You can then put a spin on if you need to while siting beside the machine and going through the manual drain process again. I did this for 4 days until I got the machine fixed - it cleaned but wouldn't drain.

Dorsetlover · 26/02/2024 18:36

If you use the hose there should be very little water - but be prepared anyways.

dementedpixie · 26/02/2024 18:42

@Dorsetlover not all machines have a wee hose to drain the machine. My old machine didnt and I used to use a baking tray to catch the water that came out when you unscrewed the filter cover

BertieBotts · 26/02/2024 18:46

How is she doing to access the drain hose at the back? It's going to weigh a huge amount with all that water in it.

I think the only two options are to drain from the filter at the front which is a huge pain to do and will be a lot of water, or just wait for the repair/removals person.

idontlikealdi · 26/02/2024 18:50

We had this with what looks like the same machine. Did the draining thing, everything. Ordered a new machine. Curry's took the old one and bust the door open with force so I could get the clothes out.

SaltySoo · 26/02/2024 18:57

Whoever is going to remove it will probably drain it first or they won't be able to shift it. Unless it's Giant from Gladiators.

thesecondmrswogan · 26/02/2024 18:58

If it has a concertina type pump at the back you can squeeze it manually with the hose in a bucket - when this happened to me the outlet hose had got blocked so it stopped dead.

Or a couple of buckets. There should be a plastic drain tube in there. You take the plug of the end of that and drain the water through it

wetpebbles · 26/02/2024 19:02

Towels and a baking tray undo the front filter and let a bit out at a time into tray, transfer to bucket then repeat until drained

Chocolate2020 · 26/02/2024 19:58

It's missing the green tab. 😢
