What is with this new 'Joker style' mouth trend?..

Hi,

So I've noticed this more and more recently, so it's clearly the new in thing in the world of tweakments.

I should say, I'm not anti tweakments. I haven’t had any myself, but I don't feel strongly either way. It's a personal choice, but there are certain trends that I just don't understand and this is one of them. I know it's entirely subjective, but there are certain treatments that I think people fall into having because in theory, it would make sense that they'd make you look younger, like having a smooth forehead, fuller lips and now, slightly (to very) up turned corners of the mouth. In practice though, this in particular to me just looks a bit.....strange. Definite Joker vibes. I know the idea is a youthful mouth would point up rather than down. It sort of makes sense. Down = saggy and saggy = ageing I guess, but it doesn't look youthful. It looks quite creepy.

I've noticed quite a few celebs recently with this look and it's completely changed their face.

I say all this, but give me a few years and who knows, maybe I'll be fully on board with ALL of it! 🤣

Feels like a whole new spin on "AND SMILE!" for women. Personally like my resting bitch face, or as men are allowed to call it, face.

Are we talking about Botox for downturned lip corners? Or something else? I’ve actually considered the Botox because my resting face is soo frowny I actually surprise myself by how angry I look if I catch myself in the mirror

Dolly Parton has had a bad case of this for a long time.

It's awful how so many end up looking. Big square faces from filler, duck lips and weird cat eyes. I don't get it! Do they think it looks good. Aging naturally still looking like yourself is so much better.
Saw a recent pic of Sharon Osborne and thought WTF

It is frightening that so many young women are getting this and especially from the side is more noticeable. They copy all the celebs and influencers and now so many therapists on high street so seems as normal as getting nails done. Have had nothing done but would like bit of filler for few lines near mouth but not brave enough yet.

I prefer the before photo, she looks puffed up in the after one. We don't have to smile all the time and not smiling doesn't equal angry,it's just not smiling.

I've just googled celebrity joker smile, and I have to say....some of them do look quite disturbing. Hope no-one has nightmares! Definitely worse than the big lip thing, which normally just looks odd.

This just makes me think of men shouting "give us a smile love!" Fuck them, it's just a face.

Christie Brinkley had a severe case of it. Fake Jansen looks embalmed. Its horrifying.

Lauren Sanchez is full of filler, botox and implants. She verges on the grotesque.

Britney Spears had this done around 2015-2016 but it seems to have faded now. It’s called a smile lift.

Bloody hell what has she done to herself. They look like puppets from Spitting Image. It feels like the rest of the world looking on in horror while they all think it looks good in their bubble.

My mouth goes down a bit at the corners but it will have to stay that way after looking at some of the pics!!

Trout pout?

So just to clarify, I'm not talking about the so called 'trout pout'. I'm talking specifically about the corners of the mouth pointing unnaturally upwards.

@NoOrdinaryMorning of course some people will have a natural upturn and I know of people who do, but this is very different. Do you mean Holly Willoughby has this naturally? I didn't want to actually name names, but I would beg to differ here. Her recent DOI Instagram posts are actually what inspired the thread.
