I'm just about to drink my first cuppa, in silence, in my kitchen spot. I made it clear last night that there are to be no interruptions! Not that there would be, although I think I hear dd2 moving about.

We haven't got anything much planned for the day. Dd1's tired after attending several events after college this week, and a York Uni event yesterday, so already said she wants a lazy one. She will have to start her homework though.

Dd2 has done most of her homework so she can have a nothing-ey kind of day, mooching about the house, get an early shower, and spend ages faffing with her hair.

I plan to do lots of little crafty bits that mean I don't have to be on my feet much - I have masks to finish for school, beads to attach to my Eras Tour jacket, my dress to pin up & check the length with the boots I want to wear (dress is going short - boots are very long), and may make a few bracelets to trade. There's also dd2's school bag to repair and a skirt to fix the zip in, if I get to them. Actually, school bag should be one of the first things I do, when dd's up.

We're having bangers & mash with peas & Yorkshires for tea, I've been fancying it for a few days. Followed by early showers, and early nights all round 💤💤

I'll probably read some more of my book waiting for dd1 to get out of the shower - she always gets in around 9pm & it feels like forever waiting for her to finish off 🙄

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning lucysmam!

My best friend is coming for a visit today! Looking forward to lunch somewhere and lots of coffee!

DD is off out to meet friends and also needs to get a bit of homework done.

Toad in the hole for dinner with roasted veg in front of Call the Midwife!

Have a lovely day all.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. That sounds like a productive day ahead for you. I have had two coffees, a cup of tea and a slice of toast with venison paté courtesy of Aldi. I'm listening to The Eagles on Alexa with the sun pouring in. Shortly I'll make lentil soup in the slow cooker,so prep, make and forget and stir occasionally. I will potter about. I have the bathroom to clean and a bit of polishing and hoovering to do which won't take long. This afternoon I'll visit mum and chat. I'll show her photos of dgs1's birthday party yesterday but she'll have forgotten it was his birthday. Nevertheless she will like looking at them. Boeuf bourguinon for dinner which I made in the slow cooker yesterday. I have enough for the next few days with some going in the freezer. So a quiet day ahead. I might do some pastel drawing. I'm trying to draw ballet dancers and finding it a challenge. Enjoy your day.

Morning @lucysmam and all.
Had a rare lie in this morning. My half marathon is next Sunday so tapering down my runs. Was great not to set my alarm but still feel like I should be out pounding the pavement!
Just has tea and breakfast in bed. Off to see my Dad for lunch today.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Good morning, I’ve got the dreaded man flu so I might not see the day out.

We got someone round to paint the outside of our house soon, so I’ve been sanding down the current paint, so I need to do more of that today.

Our son had a sleepover with a friend last night, so they’re both a mix of grumpy and excited as they didn’t sleep much last night. They’re both off to the park in a bit before his friend goes home.

My husband has taken our daughter to a little petting zoo today and I think they’re having lunch out, they’ve gone on the train, so I think they’ll be out for quite a while.

Tonight we’re going to watch one day.

ItsMostProbablyMe · 25/02/2024 09:49

Your posts always make me feel so warm. Even though your life is completely different to mine (don't want kids) I look forward to reading your words on a Saturday morning. You sound lovely OP x

lucysmam · 25/02/2024 10:06

@ItsMostProbablyMe that's lovely of you to say, thank you 😊

What a nice thread.. I've just had my favourite breakfast of poached eggs on toast. DH is hovering the stairs!

We are planning a long walk with the dog. Ds is revising for a GCSE mock next week so won't join us on walk -he did go for a run earlier so feel he's done at bit of exercise today.

DH will be cooking a roast later. I cook weekdays and he does weekends. I have a presentation to finish for tomorrow. Have a lovely Sunday

RabbitsRock · 25/02/2024 10:17

Morning Lucysmam & everyone. Raining ( for a change!) here in Cornwall but will try to get out for a walk later. Determined to get fit again! Still in bed & have just finished a cuppa. Just me & DH today as DD15 is going to a concert with her GF. Not much planned today. I hid some jewellery a while back ( DD has a habit of taking my stuff) & I’m blowed if I can remember where I put it! I’ve had quite a good look but will try again & rope DH in. The downstairs floors need sweeping/mopping & it’s very dusty everywhere. I might pop over to see my folks this afternoon as I haven’t seen them for ages what with having my op, recovering then being ill. Steaks for tea. We had chips last night so I’m having dauphinois potatoes with mine. DH will have chips again. Mushrooms fried in garlic butter & petitpois to go with it. Looking forward to Call The Midwife as it wasn’t on last week.

Got to meet up with the in laws. It's hard work as MIL is a narcissist and seemingly horrible with our children, she's sssooooooo negative and nasty but expects to be visited anyway - I've grey stoned her for years but now she's got a medical issue and may not be around for long, so drew a line and tried to move forwards, but she's still the same 🤯 really don't want to go but DD won't go unless I'm there to protect her. She's obviously torn because she knows GM will die soon but really hates the way she's treated by her. FIL is an enabler unfortunately and lets her do her thing. DH and sibling have always just said 'oh it's just her, ignore it' but no ... so at Christmas I walked out and took my DD home. Not seen them since so can't wait for today 😵‍💫

FayKnights · 25/02/2024 10:20

Morning @lucysmam and the weekend gang!
I currently sitting on my bed finishing off a tea before I hop in the shower. Sun is out but it’s chilly.
Asda shop is due to be delivered, so I can get some meal prep underway for next week.
Dogs need a run, and some washing needs doing.
Apart from that I’m planning to take is very easy.
Enjoy your Sundays!

DistingusedSocialCommentator · 25/02/2024 10:22

Spent 40 mins looking for a hospital letter, did not find it - I have another appt next week and wanted to take letter into this new appt.

Had a cup of ginger tea, me and MY
My OH gone for a 30 min walk

I need to dust the wood floors and furniture - washing machine on the go, x 3 today as well as drier as we never dry clothing in the garden

We have breakfast at about 1pm

Around 11am I will have a shower

We will, may watch the gladiators from last night during breakfast or a youtube effort.

Enjoy your day, even if you are going to or at work

piscofrisco · 25/02/2024 10:27

Good morning @lucysmam and all.
My only full day off this week so I've maxed about in bed a bit, and dh bought me up two poached eggs and some tea. About to go and fetch the car from where we left it last night as we had a few drinks, then a long dog walk, bit of garden tidying and I plan to make some buns and gingerbread for the kids to snack on in the week ahead. Dh is cooking dinner-something fancy with some pork he got from the butchers yesterday.
Dd1 is not too well-cough cough coughing downstairs-she needs to revise for her mocks today.
Dd2 has an online seminar to attend. She got chosen to go on a trip to auschwitz for holocaust Memorial Day, and she has to present back to the sixth form about it when she comes back-so there is a seminar about it with lots of kids from other schools that are also going.
So a nice Sunday I hope. Have a nice day all

Barrenfieldoffucks · 25/02/2024 10:30

Morning! I've just got up, Sunday is my lie in. The 6 yr old always wake fairly early so we take it in turns at the weekend. I often get up and go for a swim at the beach for 8, but chose sleep today!

We are going to the leisure centre today, DH and DC2 will play badminton, DC1 will go to the gym with a friend and DC3 and I will go swimming.

After that roast chicken, homework, baths/showers etc. I'll be trying to ignore the weekend mess and deal with it tomorrow 😁

Justonedayatatime11 · 25/02/2024 10:32

Morning @lucysmam.

Lazing in bed. Again. DH is downstairs making breakfast, the sun is shining and I'm enjoying a rare day where we don't actually have to be anywhere or do anything.

I need to try and sort out DDs room before she comes back from her dads, I desperately need to photograph and sell my boots/handbag collection from a brand I don't enjoy anymore. Want to replace with a new bag from Strathberry.

Some GF baking for lunches, thinking banana and chocolate chip muffins and some scones.

Roast pork for tea and another early night before back to school tomorrow. Thankfully a short term before they break up for Easter in 4 and a half weeks!

ohskedaddle · 25/02/2024 10:37

After just discovering Stacey Solomon's sort your life out and watching three episodes last night, I've been sorting out cupboards and ordering storage containers 😂

I'm then off walking dogs for an hour before coming home to watch more episodes to make a chicken casserole for dinner.

Ithinkitstimeforbed · 25/02/2024 10:38

Morning!

what a lovely thread! We’ve just got back from taking the toddler to a gymnastics class. There’s a food market a few minutes walk away so we’re just getting ready to go there and track down brunch. On the way back we’ll pop into M&S and buy stuff for a roast dinner today. Apart from that,
we plan to take it easy, probably watch something on Disney plus later. Planning for an “everything bath” this evening and then an early night!

Hope everyone has a lovely day

Oh I love this show! Whenever I watch it gets me motivated to organise and had a bit of reshuffle in the pantry yday! So satisfying! I just wish the containers weren’t so expensive, I love the home edit ones!

Yamadori · 25/02/2024 10:41

DH is cleaning out his van, I'm drinking coffee. I will shortly be putting on a load of laundry and preparing some root vegetables for roasting later on with our chicken.

After that, I might go out into the garden and tinker with some bonsai trees.

VenusClapTrap · 25/02/2024 10:51

Good morning. I had a lie in because it was dh’s turn to take the dc to their activity. When they get back we’ll clean out the guinea pigs, and then this afternoon ds will be doing his homework while dd (who has already done hers) will be going to the board game cafe with friends.

I am hoping to crack on with pruning the roses, but also need to force dh to assist me with some necessary admin that he’s far too busy to think about midweek 🙄.

We are also having bangers and mash for tea.

Have a good day.

VenusClapTrap · 25/02/2024 10:52

@Yamadori what species are your bonsais? I love them, but don’t have any of my own.

Crunchymum · 25/02/2024 10:58

I was looking out for your thread yesterday @lucysmam

Hope all is well with you.

We're having a lazy day today after a manic few days (planned hospital admission for youngest DC late last week, out at 7am yesterday morning!), once we got home I had swimming for older 2, party for DC2 and playdate for DC1. All different times and places. DP is poorly so it was all down to me.

So today I'm doing nothing!! Except nothing for a mum of 3 little ones is rarely nothing.

Have a roast chicken dinner later, kids all doing crafts at the moment whilst I tackle the washing and ironing. House is a tip and homework / baths / hair all still need to done (girls both have long, curly hair and it's quite a task on hair wash days - currently only wash their hair 2 or 3 times a week!)

PawsisShady · 25/02/2024 11:15

Trying a new beef stew recipe in the slow cooker, should be ready about 6pm
Need to get changed and do an upper body workout, and I've got some leftover bacon from the stew so I feel like a bacon sandwich is in order!
Lazy day apart from that, might have a bath later and watch some Netflix

WhatWouldHopperDo · 25/02/2024 11:20

I’ve got a lot of chores to do so will be whacking the music up and cracking on just as soon as DH leaves for work I a little
while.

DS needs to clean his pit. We are having new shutter blinds fitted throughout the house tomorrow so lots of clearing the way to do.

DD still studying. DH not home until 11.30 tonight.

I will be taking DDog out later for a run in the fields. Sausage pasta for dinner.

Yamadori · 25/02/2024 11:32

VenusClapTrap · 25/02/2024 10:52

Not joined these threads before but this is lovely.

I've done a couple of hours work and walked the dog. Dog and I are now sat on a sunny bench in our village with a coffee just watching the world go by.

DC are at home in pjs because we were all out late last night. Fun night with friends, doesn't happen often. So overall a peaceful weekend and I'm grateful for it.
