If it’s the Cerave SA range you’re looking at it’s awfully stripping, in a lot of teens it damages their skin barrier and actually ends up making things worse.

Sofiabella · 21/02/2024 17:26

I recently broke out in spots for the first time EVER at 33 years old! I've always had more or less perfect skin so was horrified. Using the Cerave Blemish Control Face wash has cleared it up within a week. Brilliant stuff!

TheWildEyeBoyfromafreecloud · 21/02/2024 17:35

@MaloneMeadow really? 😱

La Roche Posay is better - the effaclor purifying face wash is great .

It's extremely expensive the Roche

Cera ve blemish control is the only thing that has consistently worked on my skin. Even medicated wasn’t as effective.

A lot of the time with skincare you pay for what you get. From experience it’s often better to buy something higher quality once, rather than buying cheaper products which often don’t work leading you to have to purchase something different. Either way you’ll end up spending the money really

MaloneMeadow · 21/02/2024 19:43

Avéne is an amazing brand - quite cheap as they’re a not for profit organisation but absolutely amazing quality French skincare, comparable to La Roche Posay. I can honestly say that it changed DD’s skin for the better overnight. Maybe take a look at their acne prone range

TheWildEyeBoyfromafreecloud · 21/02/2024 19:47

@MaloneMeadow thank you.

It does look impressive but still 20 a bottle

MaloneMeadow · 21/02/2024 19:50

This is the sort of thing that would probably suit your DD’s skin

Aw thanks will try this on my teenage daughter. Her skin looks really sore and every time I bring it up she says I make her feel bad but don't want her skin to scar. Can't win! 😬
She says she doesn't want to be depressed on Roaccutane aw

The Avène Cicalfate cream was honestly a life changer for DD.. definitely give it a go. Any redness, dryness, breakouts etc are immensely minimised overnight - miracle stuff!! I just wish we’d found it sooner!

21ZIGGY · 21/02/2024 20:24

Nothing foaming for acne or dry skin

I like the green one moisturising cleanser

But i recommend the skin rocks app to worknout what might work

TheWildEyeBoyfromafreecloud · 21/02/2024 20:33

It’s a set with both a bottle of cleanser and a moisturiser.

MaloneMeadow · 21/02/2024 20:37

If your DD is 16 I think it would be better to let her choose what she wants

TheWildEyeBoyfromafreecloud · 21/02/2024 20:47

How on earth gods earth can she possibly pick her way through all this I can't even work it out.

She's been using carve be someone ages ago on here recommendation it.

No need to be rude. Teens are very good (probably better than most adults) at doing their own research online. She’s 16, she doesn’t need you to do it for her. Certainly at that age DD and her friends were all choosing their own skincare

TheWildEyeBoyfromafreecloud · 21/02/2024 20:57

I'm not being rude I'm genuinely shocked that with all this choice and different combinations of products etc that a teen whose not that into skincare or make up would know what on earth to choose.

I mean people are throwing names at me on here but without the precise actual products full name, I'm struggling.

There are a million and one variations.

She's doing her hw, I'm struggling on here about to drop a lot of money.

Tbh I think you saying... Get her to do it at 16 is a challenging comment. What reply do you expect?

"oh malone...der I should have thought of that before asking on here why didn't I think of that"??

Only on mn.
