Phillip Schofield reportedly DID pay ex lover

Twonewcats · 18/02/2024 14:55

Some of the tabloids today are reporting that an NDA was signed, and his ex was paid 6 figures for doing so.
Given that we already allegedly know everything, seems odd to gag him, so to speak...

Dostadning · 18/02/2024 18:38

That young boy allegedly looks like a proper built bloke now at 27.
I don't know if it's a flex or not, but a lot of older gay guys seek much younger.
Anyway, if the runner got another settlement last year after one from ITV, that's fair. If I felt I'd had my life turned upside down and was forced into hiding and knew I'd be labelled as Phil's Twink on gossip sites for the rest of my life, I'd have sought compensation too.
He heard Phil spill all that guff about them to Amol and probably thought Okay, pay me the settlement I deserve or I'll tell my side. Plus, a six figure settlement will have been a fraction/part of what Phil got paid by the ITV in his arranged settlement. What's fascinating is that all those negotiations would have been going through the same time as the media storm/shitshow that was last June.
It's a shame for the runner as his showreel did show potential and he was a grafter. Not sure why he ended up in the PA role (better paid than a runner for sure) rather than keep aiming for a presenting/warm up job. I'm surprised that given cronyism, Phil couldn't have pulled some strings somewhere.
I hope they both move forward but Phil needs to befriend someone who is less dodgy than that Ben bloke (not the runner but the friend he gave an unfortunate character witness statement for). There must be some single discreet gay men out there, surely?

He paid him 30K a month to keep quiet, everyone on this morning, ITV and Channel 4 knew, everyone!
How long for and from when until when? Because that sounds suspiciously like hush money or extortion. What's/who's your source multi?

Multicolouredwebs · 18/02/2024 18:57

Allegedly x had/has a very expensive coke habit & wanted more £££

Dostadning · 18/02/2024 19:24

Surely you'd pay for rehab then rather than pay for the habit? Again, what's your source for that info? (I'm not having a go, you can tell me Tattle Life or wherever, I shan't judge and it might link in with what Eamonn alluded to but where is that info from?)

pizzaHeart · 18/02/2024 19:26

Twonewcats · 18/02/2024 15:14

Yep.

I personally think there's enough evidence of grooming at the very least.
But interesting that PS denied any NDA or payment being made.

He probably paid him off straight after the interview.

Dostadning · 18/02/2024 19:33

Ooh colour me cynical.
Well, I hadn't at the time you asked the question Amol.
Fifty minutes later...

So who's leaking it now then? How has it made the public domain?
Phil's representative has confirmed it but how did the press find out?

Aquarius1234 · 18/02/2024 19:38

When PS kept saying definitely/ absolutely not, I never believed him regarding anything happening when underage and NDA.

Allegedly there was talk of rehab too but allegedly that didn’t work out. Source is someone from This Morning …. Allegedly 😜

EsmaCannonball · 18/02/2024 20:02

The bigger issue in all this is the behaviour of ITV. Employing a teenager on the say so of one its stars and thereby allowing that star to use ITV in the grooming process; sidelining and then binning a young employee once said star had finished with the dodgy relationship; allowing said star to use a flagship ITV show as personal PR and manipulate the public by coming out on live television and trying to turn the conversation to homophobia instead of rich, powerful media personalities using their position to sexually exploit young, vulnerable men. It's like television people never learn from past scandals, or it's just more convenient for them not to.

EsmaCannonball · 18/02/2024 20:05

Oh, and don't forget Schofield not informing the authorities when another young man told him that his (Schofield's) brother had sexually abused him as a minor. Just dodgy all round.

EsmaCannonball · 18/02/2024 20:08

Oh yes, and he gave that character reference for his other young male friend who was on trial for revenge porn. How unfortunate these things keep happening to him.

JulianFawcettMP · 18/02/2024 22:40

Aquarius1234 · 18/02/2024 17:59

PS came across very desperate if the best he could get was a 17/ 18 year old work experience boy who still looked 15 and not exactly model material.
I imagine other gay celebs were laughing at him.

You should be deeply ashamed for commenting on his looks. That is not the point and you are gross

Dostadning · 18/02/2024 22:51

Agreed. But also...disagree regarding not model material. A photograph of him grown up, he looks lovely, healthy, smiley. He could have made it on the telly. Not dissimilar to Dermot looks wise. I hope that he's had any help needed.

PeridotSparkle · 19/02/2024 05:20

Aquarius1234 · 18/02/2024 18:01

I also think This Morning should be axed.

Who on earth even watches it?! It's baffling.

Kinneddar · 19/02/2024 06:13

I thought the inference that further revelations would be 'cataclysmic' was odd. I dont think anyone cares now. The damage has been done to both his career and reputation. He's noone of interest now

SushiMayo · 19/02/2024 06:22

I thought the NDA was recent, and after the interview?

Dostadning · 19/02/2024 06:35

I think that is the case. Both refused to cooperate in the review.
The timing of it is weird I agree, unless he was about to attempt a comeback. Celeb BB was muted. I can't see it myself.
It is old news now, given the review of ITV in December only had 1 out of 48 employees saying they knew they don't read Tattle clearly a line was drawn under it, done and dusted, nothing to see here. People were rabid last Whitsun, so many threads and four years ago, the same whereas we're only on page 3 of this one. I think he's persona non grata/lost career is seen to be a "result."
Same will happen with Huw if remains low profile - yesterday's chip paper.

Honestly this comment is just gross. You're talking about a case of potential grooming FFS.

newnamethanks · 19/02/2024 08:10

Of course he paid him. What a shock.

Well, that's the issue, right there. What else has happened that we don't know about? Given that we know a lot about it, from his own mouth, why would they need to sign NDAs?......

Was the NDA maybe signed before the story broke? Or it could it just be they hoped by paying an NDA that once the initial story came out interest would wane because he wasn't going to be able to do interviews etc

MollyHollyDolly · 19/02/2024 13:39

My buddy STILL thinks Phil's innocent/ being "set up" just because he's gay. There's this odd belief that gay dudes are less likely to engage in sexual misconduct than straight guys. It might be a counterbalance to the harsh homophobia of the recent past, but I think the truth is regardless of their orientation, men in general tend to be higher in sociosexuality, making them more prone to sexually deviant behaviour. Unfortunately none of this is that surprising.

VeryViolentSnail · 19/02/2024 13:54

Agree with every point you've made.
It wouldn’t be surprising at all if there are even more disturbing details that come out over time. Horrific.

Dostadning · 19/02/2024 21:53

Absolutely fair enough three ring circus I'll have it removed now. It was in poor taste. My apologies Flowers

Yes very much so; ITV have not been held properly accountable as far as I know have they?

Dostadning · 19/02/2024 22:21

ITV were cleared of any cover-up in December. Only one employee said they'd known about it, the other 47 said they didn't. Therefore the four managers that Eamonn and Dan called out, for having done nothing, kept their jobs and there was no reckoning/admittance of any lack of safeguarding, breach of duty of care on their part (Iirc Eh and DW called out Kevin Lygo (Director of television at ITV) Martin Frizzell (This Morning Editor) Emma Gormley (MD of ITV studios daytime) and Carolyn McCall ITV Chief Exec).
