Outrageous Gousto

Mmmm I have been a Gousto customer for over a year now and have really enjoyed the meals. Unfortunately yesterday they left my box in the rain. I collected it and it has dyed my light grey jumper. I’ve tried all sorts to get it out and it won’t budge. I contacted them hoping for a discount off my next box. But they stated it was water soluble dye and they could only suggest having it dry cleaned. I am actually pretty pissed off. It wasn’t an expensive jumper but it is going to be binned. I wasn’t expecting much but even a token amount would have been a nice gesture. Now I am cross! Can anyone recommend a good alternative to Gousto?

I am veggie and I absolutely did not enjoy Gusto at all. Too much faff for very little taste.
Hello Fresh is a bit better.
Really I need to get a grip and sort out my shopping / menu plannjng myself but Hello Fresh is not bad.

If it's not water soluble how did the rain wash it out of the box?

You are on the wrong chat.

They do. But mistakes don't equate to fault.

I have bought gousto for a good 18 months and in that time had 2 box failures. It happens.

And with all things, here common sense was missing.

We all know ink can transfer.
Especially when wet. So take extra care.

@crew2022 I have ordered a box to try. I like that there is a fruit and lots of extra options. Less thinking to do.

TBH, if you wanted to avoid comments on what happened, you should have just left that info out... MNers will always comment on stuff like that!

New box has been ordered.

I’m surprised by that as in our four years with them their customer service has been excellent.

I've tried various options, but Gousto has always been a favourite.

@DollyDoyle me too any issues I’ve had have always been resolved and customer service has been great. Unfortunately not this time.

I’ve used Hello fresh and gusto and found them to be pretty comparable. I’d recommend asking on your social media if anyone has a recommendation as you can often get your first box for free!

I wouldn't recommend hello fresh as an alternative. Their customer service is shit, at least you managed to speak with someone at Gousto.

I wasn't keen on hello fresh but probably worth the free trial.

Much prefer simply cook which is a different concept but much more tasty.

Hello Fresh - samey meals, annoying auto choices if you forget to chose yourself

Gousto the best by a country mile. Personally I'd not blame them for this

A friend of mine did not rate Hello Fresh at all.

I still think you should be able to pick up a box without staining your clothes
A sopping wet anything has the potential to stain your clothes if you hold it closely enough 🤷🏻‍♀️
Most people would have known better, it’s not the company’s fault.

Have you actually checked what colour Hello Fresh's boxes are? I don't want to see you back on here complaining about a bright green jumper in a week's time.
